How to help: Colombia earthquake relief

On August 10, 2026, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, killing at least hundreds of people and damaging thousands of buildings in what officials are calling the strongest quake to hit the country in a decade. As search and rescue efforts continue, communities across the region are beginning the long road to recovery. Find where help is needed. Support for verified relief fundraisers and nonprofits will help those affected continue their recovery.

Our Trust & Safety team will continue to update this page with more fundraisers as they are verified.

While we accept donations worldwide, only people in supported countries can start fundraisers for their friends and family members affected by the recent earthquake in Colombia. Since GoFundMe cannot send funds directly to locations affected by the earthquake in Colombia at this time, you will be personally responsible for withdrawing the funds and transferring them to your beneficiary. Learn more about these requirements.

If you’re fundraising for loved ones affected by the Colombia earthquake, our Trust & Safety team will work with you to understand the delivery of funds to your beneficiary. To help our team complete this process quickly, please include the following in your fundraiser description:

    • Who you’re raising money for
    • Where your beneficiary is located
    • How they will use the funds raised
    • How you will deliver funds to your beneficiary
