Mission

Direct Relief delivers life-saving medicines, medical supplies, and emergency aid to people facing disasters, poverty, and health crises — in the U.S. and around the world. From wildfire survivors in California to hurricane-hit communities in the Caribbean, we work with local health providers to get help to people in need, fast. We’ve always been privately funded and accept no government grants. That means donations from campaigns like yours on GoFundMe are deeply meaningful and essential. Every dollar you raise delivers critical resources — from insulin and antibiotics to equipment for first responders — where they are needed most.

As communities across Nepal face the devastating impacts of flooding and mudslides, medical teams are mobilizing to reach people in affected areas. Direct Relief’s longtime partner Dhulikhel Hospital has deployed medical teams equipped with Direct Relief emergency backpacks and supplies. The hospital is also preparing to receive injured patients evacuated from hard-hit communities. As needs emerge, Direct Relief will continue supporting local partners working to bring medical care to affected communities.

I’m taking on Direct Relief’s Move for Maternal & Newborn Health challenge this September! My goal is to complete [30 miles / 30 hours] of movement while raising awareness and funds to support Direct Relief’s work. Every mother deserves access to safe, quality care before, during, and after childbirth. Yet around the world, many women and newborns still face barriers to lifesaving healthcare. Direct Relief works alongside frontline healthcare providers, providing the essential medicines, supplies, and tools they need to help more mothers and babies thrive. I’m fundraising to help support this important work, and I’d love for you to be part of my journey. Whether you donate, share my fundraiser, or cheer me on throughout the challenge, every bit of support makes a difference. And thanks to a generous matching gift, every dollar raised will be matched up to $25,000!
If you know me, you know how deeply I care about the work Direct Relief does around the world. But since becoming a mom two years ago, one area of that work has become especially personal to me: maternal and newborn health. Becoming a mother changed the way I think about pregnancy and childbirth, and especially what it means to know that safe, quality care will be there when you need it. In many parts of the world, women preparing to give birth must first find the money to purchase the basic medical supplies needed for their own delivery and bring those supplies with them to the hospital or clinic. A mother preparing to meet her baby should be thinking about packing her overnight hospital bag, not worrying about whether the health facility will have the supplies and tools needed to deliver her baby safely. That’s why I’m taking on Direct Relief’s Move for Maternal & Newborn Health Challenge this September, completing 30 miles of movement to raise funds for maternal and newborn care around the world. Every mother deserves access to safe, quality care before, during, and after childbirth. And every baby deserves the healthiest possible start in life. Direct Relief works alongside frontline healthcare providers to help make that possible, providing essential medicines, supplies, and tools to care for mothers and newborns. This cause has become deeply personal to me, and I’d love for you to be part of it. Whether you donate, share my fundraiser, or cheer me on as I complete my 30 miles, every bit of support helps And this month, that support can go twice as far: thanks to a generous matching gift, every dollar raised will be matched, up to $25,000.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to support Direct Relief as they deliver urgent medical aid to communities affected by devastating flooding and landslides across Nepal. Heavy rains have cut off roads, leaving remote mountain villages isolated and without access to basic healthcare. Direct Relief is on the ground delivering emergency supplies and funding mobile medical teams to reach survivors before waterborne diseases take hold. How your donation helps: Emergency Medical Supplies: Provides wound care, clean water supplies, and antibiotics directly to rescue and health teams in hard-to-reach areas. Vital Health Support: Delivers essential daily medicines and supports local healthcare partners caring for displaced families. Every dollar helps save lives when every minute counts. Please join our youth-led effort to bring help and hope to Nepal! Thank you for your support!
