How to safely fundraise for Nepal flood relief

We understand that many diaspora communities want to start fundraisers and transfer money directly to those impacted. It is important to be clear about what you’re raising money for, how the funds will be used, and where funds and assistance are being sent.

Our Trust & Safety team is carefully reviewing fundraisers related to this crisis. This is an important step to help ensure the fundraiser is in compliance with the evolving regulations, international laws, strictly enforced policies from our payment partners, and our Terms of Service. It’s also important that we protect the generosity of all donors by taking steps to help ensure that any funds raised on GoFundMe can be safely delivered.

To help our team complete this process quickly, please include the following in your fundraiser description:

    • Who you’re raising money for (full name of person, company or organization) and your relationship with them
    • Where your beneficiary is located (city and country)
