Hi! I’m Adrian Alonso, and I'm a high school student in South Florida. As part of a service project, I’m reaching out to you today to ask you to support a reliable global humanitarian organization that has been working tirelessly to get food and supplies to children who are experiencing unimaginable conditions, due to being caught in the middle of conflicts—Save the Children. This organization is actively working to provide therapeutic food and other essential aid to children in many places that include Sudan, Haiti, and Gaza, while also distributing fuel for hospitals, water storage tanks, and providing child protection services. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these innocent children who need our help the most. Your donation, no matter the amount, can literally save a child today! A Birthday Wish Beyond Gifts

As our son Zaan turns one, we mark a milestone - not just in his life, but in the kind of life we hope to shape for him.

This day is not just a celebration of his birth. It’s the beginning of a journey we, as his parents, deeply believe in: a life rooted in empathy, kindness, and giving. A life where joy is shared, not stored. Where the measure of success is not just what you have, but how meaningfully you give.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate - surrounded by love, opportunity, and safety. But when we pause and look beyond ourselves, we’re reminded that much of the world is in pain. Children are not learning to walk but struggling to survive. Animals, across the world, live in chains, cages, and conflict zones - voiceless, unseen, and unloved.

So this year, Zaan is giving his first birthday away.

Every gift, every thought, every gesture of love that might have come to him—we ask you to redirect it. In his name. To those who need it most.

We’ve chosen two causes that speak to the heart:

1. Save the Children: supporting young lives affected by conflict, poverty, and crisis around the world with education, protection, and hope.

2. Four Paws International: a global charity rescuing animals from war zones, captivity, and cruelty, giving them sanctuary, dignity, and a second chance at life.

This is Zaan’s first act of giving. His first lesson in compassion. A quiet but powerful beginning.

They pooled their resources, raising money from parents and friends to purchase a nourishing meal for those in need in the street of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It was more than just about food; it was about community, hope, and making a difference at our age —one meal at a time & one person at a time.

Those years were marked by unity, resilience, and a deep desire to help others despite limited means. Jerry Mike’s unwavering dedication and leadership inspired everyone around him to think beyond themselves, to see the power of collective effort, and to understand that even small acts of kindness can create ripples of change.

Today, we gather not just to celebrate life and party, but to honor Jerry Mike’s legacy of compassion.

This year, Jerry Mike would want us to carry that spirit forward with a purpose. We are coming together to raise awareness and support for Haitian children living in some of the most vulnerable conditions—children who face daily challenges that many of us cannot imagine.

Our goal is to make a tangible impact. All proceeds from today’s fundraiser will be donated directly to Save the Children in Connecticut—an organization committed to improving the lives of children worldwide, especially those in Haiti. The funds will be transferred straight from GoFundMe to the organization, ensuring transparency and that every dollar goes where it’s needed most—without touching my personal bank account.

For my 23rd birthday I wanted to run 13.1 miles. However as I run I believe I can do some good if I push myself. If this fundraiser hits at least $23, I will run 23 miles today. As I run I will post to my story explaining why I am doing this.
