GoFundMe Giving Fund fees

We’re committed to making charitable giving simple and impactful, and that means keeping fees low and transparent.

Here’s what to know about fees when using your Giving Fund:

1. $0 – No administrative fees

GoFundMe Giving Fund does not charge any administrative fees for maintaining your Giving Fund Account.1 This means more of your money goes directly toward the charities you care about.

2. Payment processing fees

If you have questions about fees, contributions, or tips, our team is always here to help via our support page. While the Giving Fund itself doesn’t charge account fees, standard payment processing fees2 may apply when you make a contribution using a credit card or debit card. These fees help cover the cost of GoFundMe securely handling online transactions on the Giving Fund’s behalf.

3. Investment management fees

If your Giving Fund account is invested, the selected investment option may have an associated expense ratio, which is determined by the manager of that option. This isn’t a fee charged by GoFundMe, and it doesn’t appear as a separate charge or deduction from your account. Instead, it’s automatically factored into the performance of the investment as a standard cost of managing the underlying assets.

Optional tip

When making a donation (also known as a grant) to a nonprofit from your Giving Fund, you’ll be given the option to include a tip to support GoFundMe Giving Fund.

  • Tips are completely optional.
  • 100% of your donation still goes to the nonprofit, regardless of whether or how much you tip.
  • Tipping helps sustain the Giving Fund’s mission and operations, much of which is powered by GoFundMe, Inc., while keeping the experience fee-free for donors and nonprofits.

As explained in this article, you can choose from preset tip amounts, enter a custom tip, or choose $0, it’s entirely up to you. Remember, donations made through your GFGF are nonrefundable and irrevocable, and this includes the tip you choose. Be sure to double check the amounts you’re entering before confirming your donation.

2. If using a credit card for a contribution, there will be a small processing fee of 2.2% of the contribution. If using a credit card when donating, there will be a small processing fee of 2.2% of the donation plus $0.30.
