Shopping Spree For Kids In Need

Donation protected
I'm David Hogg.  I'm 18, an early college student and most importantly, I'm a huge volunteer.

One of the most important campaigns I've led was taking several high school students on a clothing/shoes shopping spree!  See it here:  https://www.gofundme.com/f/teens-need-christmas-gifts-too.

The smiles, the laughter, the excitement - I wish you could have been there with me.  With the help of school counselors, each deserving student who was awarded the shopping spree, was dropped off at the front of the store on the big day.  Each one smiling from ear to ear, eager to get started.  These are teenagers, so you might think they used their money to buy things just for themselves.  But, I watched and was amazed at what happened.   Most everyone not only bought things they could use, but also bought clothing for their younger siblings.  My heart was full when I saw their carts line up to meet at the front of the store when they were done.  One teen had toddler outfits, a gift for her mom as well as items for herself.  You could see how proud she was to already pay it forward.  Isn't that what it's all about?

I helped the guys with some shopping.  It was fun and I made some new friends.
So, it got me thinking.  I would like to set a new goal of $2,000 and take 10 middle school kids - grades 6th thru 8th - on a shopping spree!  It's gonna be tough to get to this amount, but I'm ready for the challenge.  Here are some questions you might have...

1.  How will I choose the students to bless? Just like last time, I'm going to reach out to a couple of schools and speak with the counselors.  With their help, we will find the kids most in need and most deserving.

2.  Who will take them on the shopping spree?  I will! I'll set it up with the store manager again, and maybe the kids will be able to shop when the store is closed.  Yes, I'm wishful thinking!

3.  How can you be sure every dime goes to the kids?  You'll be with me through pictures, just like last time,  and I will update/post them (keeping the kids' faces protected for privacy reasons.)  You'll get to experience the joy of giving right along with me.  follow the story and be prepared for updates.

4.  Will I take them to dinner like last time?  I hope so!  If funds allow.  I'd like to talk with the kids about giving back, how to help others with your time.  How to be a good friend at school.  I'd like them to take their happiness and bless someone else.

Middle school is a TOUGH...take it from me.  Yea, I was small & bullied.  I was 'checked' into lockers, 'pants', etc.  Here's a picture of me in middle school.
It's hard enough being a middle schooler, but it makes it even harder when you don't have a few nice outfits or a cool pair of kicks.  So, I'd like to help do my part and lead up this fundraiser to bless 10 deserving kids.  One small act of kindness can change someone's life.  Will you help me, help these kids?

What can you do to help?  If you can give, that would be awesome! But, if you can't, you can still do an act of kindness to help...you can share this campaign with your friends on social media.  What will you get out of this?  JOY, PRIDE, HAPPINESS, LAUGHTER & TEARS and you'll get to follow a great story!

Still aren't convinced because you don't really know me? That's okay!  I get it.  Here are some other campaigns I've led.  Feel free to reach out with questions.
