Teens Need Christmas Gifts, Too!

Many of you know I have done fundraisers for Veterans and young children in the hospital (click links below), but I wanted to reach out to teens in high school.  I have chosen a school in my area that has 99.8% free/discounted lunch recipients.  That's a high number.  I can only imagine how many of these teens are discouraged around the holidays.  How many of my peers aren't getting anything for Christmas?  Just because you are a 'big' kid, doesn't mean you don't enjoy receiving a gift.  Even a small gesture can help make a difference in a teen's life.  They will remember it forever and I bet many will pay it forward with kindness.  That's worth way more than money, isn't it?

I know this high school well.  The bus I took in early college last year (that my little brother is now on) would stop near this school and I'd then board another bus for home.   I'm familiar with the area.     

I have reached out to the superintendent.  He is going to work with (2) principals and counselors to find the EIGHT deserving teens.  My goal is for each student to spend $250.   I will take all of them shopping with me and we are aiming for middle November.  Each teen will be so excited to get a new pair of shoes and clothing!  This is an attainable goal and together we can make this happen.  Will you help me make a difference?  I'll keep you updated along the way. THIS is going to be so AWESOME!

I will get their parents' permission and if they don't want their face shown, I'll just post pics of the items they bought and protect their identify by blurring their face.    Let's do this and make 2019 the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

I'm in for the first $10.  How about you?  If you don't have $10 to give, even $5 will make a difference.  But, whatever you do, please RT and share this on social media.  You will be a hero to 8 teenagers and I have to believe that they will pay it forward later in life. **ALL funds, minus gofundme fees, will be spent on these 8 individuals.***  If we happen to collect more than the goal, we will be inviting more teens, which would be EXCELLENT!  I wish I could take an entire school.  Thank you!
