Help Walter - A Vietnam Veteran
Donation protected
6/21/18 update! This fundraiser is now over. It was open for 4 days and you all made a HUGE difference in Mr. Walter's life. Thank you for donating!!! I hope you will enjoy the news story and feel like you were there with me for the surprise. I'll post the link later today when available. Sincerely, David Hogg
I met Walter a few weeks ago for the first time. He is a really nice guy! He is a Vietnam Veteran that lives a few miles from me. I was contacted by someone in our community because Walter needed help. His gutters hadn't been cleaned in a VERY long time and they were really backed up. I was so happy they trusted me to help and the next morning went to clear them for him. Here's my tweet helping Walter: https://twitter.com/David_Hogg16/status/1003733328711823361
Walter is recovering from surgery. I wanted to do something special for Walter - he deserves it. As we all know, many Vietnam Veterans were not welcomed home with open arms after the war. There are so many that were shunned.
Here is what I am going to do. I will always clean his gutters for him when he needs me. He can count on that and anything else I can do to help him. But, I wanted to surprise Walter with a gift card from our local food store. I just want to show him that we appreciate his service and are thinking about him - wishing him a fast recovery from his surgery. Sometimes people need a pick-me-up and I believe Walter does.
Would anyone like to help me get to the goal I've set? This GoFundMe will be open until Wednesday 6/20. I will present him with the gift card the next day and I will share that with all of you. I am sure Walter will give me permission to do so. He was very proud for me to share this photo when I helped with his gutters, so I know he would want to share this special moment as well to thank everyone. So, you will get to share in on the fun!
Are you in? $2? $5? $10?
Thank you!
