Meet Otis, a sweet one-year-old Pitbull mix from Georgia who is facing a painful challenge—with an exposed bone on the tip of his tail. He needs his tail amputated. His surgery is estimated to cost $983.82. Otis still needs $900 to move forward with the treatment.
Otis’s veterinarian is optimistic and believes he will have a full recovery after surgery. His loving mom has shared their heartfelt story, which you can read—along with more adorable photos and a video—on Otis’s fundraising page.
You can help make a life-changing difference for Otis and his family by making a tax-deductible donation toward his veterinary care. Every dollar brings him closer to healing.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing his fundraising page helps spread the word and brings us closer to our goal.
Thank you for being a part of Otis’s journey. Let’s give him the chance he deserves.
“Otis, he’s my 1 year old black and white pitbull mix. I got him early 2025 when he’s was only 4 weeks old, he’s was not in a good environment so I took him for his own safety because he was adorable and he gravitated towards me.
Around late December 2025 I started noticing his ears being all crusty which I just cleaned and brushed off as a regular little scratch but it then got worse and began to spread. At the time I was unable to get him to any vet because I didn’t have any funds to do so, in turn I gave him Benadryl and some dog itch bites and cleaned what wounds he had twice a day. It then migrated to his tail and around his eyes, he started biting his tail to the point where the very tip fell off. I put a cone on him but he was still able to reach his tail so I put a muzzle on him, and he still chases his tail.
As of now I’ve been able to give him antibiotics to clear up everything else besides his tail which now has bone exposed, which is what the doctors said would be bad, and he needs a tail amputation.
He’s not only my best friend but my four-legged son and he means everything to me, he’s funny and he talks back to people when you talk to him, I love the little guy with my entire heart.
He needs 900 dollars for his surgery, and unfortunately I’m unable to do it by myself. I appreciate each and every person that could possibly give anything to him for his surgery, I thank anyone who is willing to donate”
