Meet Isla Mae, an adorable six-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle mix from Minnesota who is currently battling a serious and painful condition—a radius and ulna fracture. To help her recover, Isla Mae urgently needs surgery that is estimated to cost $4,876.92. Paws 4 A Cure is providing a $400 grant, but her mom is trying to raise an additional $250 for the remainder of the funds that Isla Mae needs to move forward with the treatment.
Her loving mom has shared her heartfelt story, which you can read—along with more adorable photos—on Isla Mae’s fundraising page.
You can help make a life-changing difference for Isla Mae and her family by making a tax-deductible donation toward her veterinary care. Every dollar brings her closer to healing.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing her fundraising page helps spread the word and brings us closer to our goal.
Thank you for being a part of Isla Mae’s journey. Let’s give her the chance she deserves.
“Isla Mae is a 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle mix who has become an incredibly important part of my life, especially over the past year. She originally belonged to my son, and after his passing last year, she came into my care. In many ways, she is a living piece of him—his companion, his joy—and now mine. The bond I share with Isla Mae is deeply tied to love, loss, and healing, and she has brought comfort into my life during a time when I needed it most.
On April 18, 2026, Isla Mae suffered a serious injury when she broke her front leg. I rushed her to the emergency veterinarian, where she was examined, X-rayed, and her leg was splinted to stabilize the injury. After evaluating the severity of the break, they referred us to an orthopedic surgeon, as Isla Mae requires surgery to properly repair the damage and give her the best chance at healing and regaining full use of her leg. So far, she has received emergency care, imaging, and initial stabilization, but the most critical step—surgery—is still ahead.
The cost of this procedure and follow-up care is more than I can manage on my own. With the generous support of a $400 grant from Paws 4 A Cure, I am hoping to raise a total of $4,000 to ensure Isla Mae can receive the surgery and care she urgently needs. Every donation will go directly toward her medical expenses, including the orthopedic surgery and recovery care.
Isla Mae is more than a pet to me—she is a connection to my son, a source of comfort, and a reminder of unconditional love.
Isla Mae is my son’s legacy and my healing heart, and I am doing everything I can to keep her safe and by my side.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read Isla Mae’s story and for considering a donation. Your kindness, support, and compassion truly mean the world to both of us during this difficult time”
