This Privacy Notice of Certain Other States in the United States (“Notice of Certain States”) supplements the other information provided throughout our Privacy Notice. In the event of a conflict between the Privacy Notice and this Notice of Certain States, this Notice of Certain States will prevail as to consumers from Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Virginia and their rights under the respective privacy law.

As used in this Notice, the term “Personal Data” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you. Personal Data does not include information that is publicly available, de-identified, or aggregated.

A. Additional Processing Disclosures

When you use our Platform or register for our Services, we may collect your name, email address, login details, phone number, zip code, country, payment card information, and biometric information. We may also passively collect certain data when you interact with GoFundMe through the Services such as your IP address, your precise geolocation data, and the type of Internet browser or mobile device.

Although we do not sell personal data in exchange for money, some of the ways in which we share personal information for targeted advertising may be considered “sales” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws. We may sell or share the categories of personal data listed below to the following categories of third parties: adtech partners or vendors, social networks, and/or analytic providers.

  • Registration information
  • Donation information
  • Device & usage information; and
  • Location information.

If you are a Colorado or Connecticut resident, you may use an authorized agent (a person or entity acting on your behalf) to submit a request to opt-out of our processing of personal data for the purposes of targeted advertising or sales. If you use an authorized agent to submit a request, we will request the authorized agent to provide us with a copy of evidence of the written authorization.

B. Your Consumer Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you have the following rights:  to request access to certain personal information, correction of inaccuracies in personal information, and the deletion of personal information, subject to certain exceptions.  We will not discriminate against you because you exercised any of your privacy rights.
