In May 2024, GoFundMe.org, a nonprofit, charitable partner to GoFundMe, launched the Weather Resilience Fund to help address the impact of extreme weather on vulnerable individuals and communities. The fund’s mission is to support community resilience efforts, ensuring that vulnerable communities can better adapt to increasingly intense weather conditions and weather-fueled natural disasters.
The Weather Resilience Fund’s first project is a program aimed at improving water and air quality for low-income households in California’s Central and Imperial Valleys.
Comite Civico del Valle (CCV) and Central California Environmental Justice Network (CCEJN) joined with GoFundMe.org to install reverse osmosis water filtration systems in communities where water is too contaminated to drink.

Donations to the Weather Resilience Fund allow us to expand this program to additional households in these areas, and identify similar needs and solutions in other states.
Comite Civico del Valle (CCV) is a 501 (c)(3) organization based in Imperial County, California that focuses on improving the lives of disadvantaged communities by informing, educating, and engaging the community’s civic participation. CCV partnerships improve community access to health services, research, service programs, and promote environmental justice to disadvantaged communities by way of education, capacity building, and civic participation.
Central California Justice Network’s mission is to empower our communities and secure our children’s future by eliminating negative environmental impacts in low income and communities of color in the Central Valley.
