<div>On July 4th, our family’s lives changed in an instant. My wife, our three young children, and I were involved in a devastating car accident caused by a drunk driver. Tragically, there were fatalities in the other vehicle.

<div>Our family survived, but not without serious injuries. I suffered a femur fracture requiring surgery. My wife sustained fractures in her arm and wrist that also require surgical repair. Our 3-year-old daughter broke her leg, one of our twin boys broke his arm, and the other suffered a fractured rib. Each of us has spent time in the hospital and now faces a long road to recovery.

<div>As you can imagine, this has brought not only physical pain but overwhelming emotional and financial strain. Both my wife and I are unable to work due to our injuries, and we do not have any compensation for the complete loss of income during this time. Along with multiple surgeries, hospital stays, and ongoing medical care, the financial burden has become incredibly difficult.

<div>We also recently became homeowners, and this unexpected tragedy has made it even more challenging to keep up with everyday expenses while focusing on healing and caring for our children. <div>Nuestra familia sobrevivió, pero no sin sufrir lesiones graves. Yo sufrí una fractura de fémur que requirió cirugía. Mi esposa sufrió fracturas en el brazo y la muñeca que también requieren cirugía. Nuestra hija de 3 años se fracturó una pierna, uno de nuestros hijos gemelos se fracturó un brazo y el otro sufrió una fractura de costilla. Además de las múltiples cirugías, las hospitalizaciones y la atención médica continua, la carga financiera se ha vuelto extremadamente difícil de sobrellevar.

<div>Scott Hayes is an American Iraq War Veteran, who was attacked at a pro-Israeli Protest, on September 12, 2024 in Newton, Massachusetts. As Scott was about to leave, a young man wearing a Palestinian flag pin started shouting from the other side of the street to Scott and other protests in the area. This person suddenly ran across the street, charged Scott, attacked him and tackled him to the ground. Scott was wrestling with him when a gun went off. As soon as Scott noticed his assailant was hurt he provided emergency medical treatment.

<div>Even though Scott is not Jewish he has been defending the Jewish people and its right for self determination and governance all across Boston, its surroundings and all around New England and the US. He now needs help as this turmoil entered his life.

<div>Yael Magen advocates for the Jewish people, the Jewish people's right for self-determination in the ancestral land the State of Israel, and Jerusalem its eternal capital, and supports those who have suffered from threats and attacks of anti-Semitism and/or anti-Zionism. And is the founder of FAIS, an organization fighting antisemitism.

About me
