<div>(Espanol abajo) Oscar, his wife Elba, and their teen-aged son fled Nicaragua a few years ago due to political persecution. Elba’s work put her and her family in danger. With the support of a local non-profit, they applied for political asylum, received work permits from the US government, and started to make Maryland their home. Unfortunately, despite him showing them his work permit, ICE agents detained and abducted Oscar on his way to his construction work site on September 3, 2025. Oscar is currently in an immigration detention facility in Arizona and every time he calls home, Elba gets a bill for the phone call from the government that took her husband away!

<div>Elba is heartbroken and doing everything she can to stay afloat. She has to pay rent, put food on the table for herself and her son, and pay sizable legal fees to try to bring her husband back home… all on an hourly job cleaning buildings. Elba was worried about putting this GoFundMe post up but decided to go for it because this is her last resort (this is why she has only shared a photo of her husband hard at work and not the whole family, and we are using pseudonyms). Elba and Oscar did everything they could to provide for their son, worked tirelessly, and had work permits.

Help bring Oscar S. back home to his family

<div>(Español abajo) Dionisio was driving his work vehicle when multiple ICE vehicles surrounded his pickup and forced him to pull over. Despite his work permit and doing nothing wrong, ICE took him away at first to a detention center in Virginia where he was able to call his wife and two daughters to explain what had happened. Despite the inexplicably high cost of phone calls Dionisio’s family has tried again and again to reach him, only to find that he had been moved to a detention center in Louisiana. Now they are told that he is no longer at that detention facility, but they were given no more information.

<div>Dionisio’s wife and two daughters are heartbroken and yet they continue to fight tirelessly to find him and bring him home. They are seeking legal assistance (which is very costly!) all while trying to make ends meet despite the enormous challenge that is presented by the loss of Dionisio’s income.

Help the family of Dionisio find him and bring him home

<div>(Español abajo) On Sunday morning, Lazaro left home to get his 6-year-old daughter a special breakfast. On his short walk to McDonald’s, ICE agents picked him up as part of a larger operation – taken away simply for walking in his own neighborhood to bring food to his family. That night, his little girl cried herself to sleep, heartbroken and confused about why her daddy never came home.

<div>Lazaro holds a valid work permit and has spent years working for a construction company, literally helping to build and maintain the federal buildings that serve our nation’s capital. He is not just a hard worker – he is a neighbor, a husband, and a devoted father. He and his wife have built their life here while raising three children – ages 20, 16, and 6 – who now face an unimaginable loss. His older children are shouldering a heavy emotional load – far more than any young person should – while they search for legal help and try to navigate the complicated immigration detention system.

Support Lazaro’s Family as they Fight to Bring Dad Home

<div>(Espanol abajo) Santos was taken by ICE while driving through a checkpoint on his way to work as a painter. His family was unable to communicate with him for days, as he was shuttled through multiple detention centers with inhumane conditions. Phone calls to ICE detention facilities were egregiously expensive and often ended without getting through to him. His wife, daughter and niece, were unable to make contact for long stretches, but through perseverance he was fortunately able to wish his daughter a happy birthday over the phone a week after being taken. They have now discovered that he has been deported.

Support Santos' Family After Deportation

<div>(Espanol abajo) Levi Diaz was taken by ICE right outside his Brentwood, Maryland, home while he was gardening his lawn on Friday, August 29. His wife Marisol has been left wondering how does her easy-going law-abiding hard-working husband and parent of her three children be taken so inhumanly.

<div>Levi migrated to the US at the age of 17 in search of a better life. He created a home with Marisol in which they are raising three beautiful and curious children, all under eight. He works in landscaping and she works at a local hospital. They have been working with a lawyer to get his papers since 2020, when he was just taken away!

<div>Marisol is trying to keep it together, focusing on providing emotional support for her chidren. With one less income, she has had to increase her working hours.
