The Gutierrez family—Reyna, Francisco, and their two boys—were living a peaceful life here in Hyattsville, until Reyna received a desperate phone call from her husband on his way to work last week. ICE agents were detaining the car he was in–they kidnapped him moments later. Reyna learned later that the agents had thrown her husband to the ground in the process of arresting him. A bystander witness recorded the encounter.

Francisco is now detained out of state, and Reyna is alone with their sons, ages eleven and five. They are heartbroken and in shock. The children especially are desperate for their father to return. Reyna has a very small income from a part-time job, but it is not enough to cover their living expenses–rent, food, utilities, and insurance.

Please help Reyna keep her family afloat as she navigates life on her own while fighting for her husband’s release.
