<div>“Homesteading is rooted in self-sufficiency which is attractive to most people on their journey.
</div>
<div>Total self sufficiency is quite difficult to achieve, but being able to provide for your family at a smaller scale is worth the wait
</div>
<div>No matter your age you can begin your journey today.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dear Friends,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My play, dog song, is heading to Atlanta this summer!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After many years of writing plays in and about Appalachia, I’m seeing my first-ever full production at a major festival, sheATL. This is one of the biggest new play festivals in the country dedicated to women, trans, and nonbinary writers – right here in the Southeast.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The crew behind dog song is thrilled to bring the play to Atlanta stages – but to do so, we need your help!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your donation will mainly support compensation for a scrappy crew of artists in the South. sheATL generously covers most major production costs, but we are responsible for getting the artists paid. Our goal of $5,000 by August 1st will pay six actors, as well as the production team, for their time and materials. It’s hard to make a living as a theatre artist, and we believe in paying our people for their work as best we can!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m so excited to bring this play to a wider audience. Dog song is an insane little play about love, power, land, marital resentment, coyote behavior, and off-grid living.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This play asks questions like, is there any good way to be in relationship with the natural world and do no harm? What does it mean to seek freedom from the strictures of society, and is it even possible? What is nature, when everything is owned by somebody? Can you lie to yourself forever? And, what does it really mean to build the life you want?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We hope you’ll find this work meaningful enough to donate to – and maybe even buy a ticket to see the show!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Love,
</div>

<div>Synopsis:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A young couple take to the mountains to live out their dreams of pure, clean off-grid living. Unfortunately, their lack of technical skill is a little bit of an issue. Then there's the rent they owe their beautiful, mysterious landlady. Also, the coyotes that howl on the ridge seem to be getting bolder....but little obstacles like that never stopped a perfect couple on their homesteading journey. Right?? Besides, the earth is speaking if you care to listen. Right????
</div>

</div>
<div>Playwright’s Bio:
</div>
<div>Katie Myers is a playwright, journalist, audio producer, and misc. writer in the mountain South. She's developed work through the Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Next Exit Productions, Primary Stages Echoes Writer's Group, Tennessee Stage Company New Play Festival, and Tennessee Playwrights Studio. She also has participated in the Appalachian Writer’s Workshop, and was awarded a Kristi Havens Memorial Fellowship at Sundress Academy for the Arts. Help Bring 'Dog Song' to Atlanta Stages

<div><strong>My sister, Stacey Cornett, and her partner of 7 years, Ryan Walker need our help! After being turned away by 2 ERs, Ryan finally received urgent surgery to repair a severed nerve in his dominant hand. Now he faces up to a year of recovery, unable to work and uncertain if full function will return.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Two weeks ago, Ryan’s life changed in an instant. An accident left him with a severed ulnar nerve in his right hand. After a week of excruciating pain and being dismissed by multiple doctors, he finally saw a surgeon who confirmed the seriousness of his injury and performed urgent repair surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nerve healing is slow — just a millimeter a day. Healing doesn’t begin until after 1 month, and may take 6–12 months before Ryan knows how much use of his hand will return. Until then, he must endure months of physical therapy and faces the possibility of having to change careers entirely. For someone whose work and passions depend on his hands, this is devastating.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Overnight, Ryan and Stacey lost half their household income.</strong> Stacey works a full time job and a side gig, but their basic expenses (housing, groceries, utilities, transportation, and medical) are more than double what she makes. On top of this, Stacey is also scheduled for major surgery before year’s end.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ryan and Stacey are always the first to step up to help others. Stacey has raised over $100,000 in past fundraisers to support others in crisis. Now, for the first time, she and Ryan are the ones in need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We’re raising $15,000</strong> to cover the next few months of essential living expenses and medical costs while Ryan recovers. This will keep food on the table, the lights on, and protect the home they’ve spent the last year and a half lovingly DIY renovating.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every donation helps. If you can’t give, please share this campaign to help us reach more people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With gratitude,
</div>

Help Stacey Cornett & Ryan Walker After Injury and Surgery

<div>My name is Robby Roadsteamer. I'm a political activist Comedian that has made it my mission to troll Trump and MAGA til the end of time.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Recently I had to get emergency Retinal detachment surgery at Boston Eye And Ear after going 80% blind in my left eye outta nowhere.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I had floaties in my eye for a day, but hey I thought i was either tripping or hitting a new level of enlightenment with the year I've been having!! I was swimming at Walden Pond and floaties became an amoeba-looking black shadow that grew over my eye as I rushed from hospital to hospital as my world went dark.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I'm in the hands of some great doctors, but I have a long road of rehab ahead of me. I will be cutting down on Robby Roadsteamer activities for a bit as I hope to recover some vision back in my left eye..., So I don't have blind spots when I sing at MAGA and their linebackers rush me!

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>As this is my only job I'm hoping to make ends meet while my eye recovers by appealing for donations from my friends and family. Please consider giving or sharing my story.

</div>

<div>Hi there! My name is Allie (sometimes Alec), and I use they/them pronouns. I’m a non-binary person who’s been on testosterone for the past 1.5 years, and I’ve known for much, much longer that I wanted a flat chest. Since puberty, chest dysphoria has been a constant source of discomfort, both physically and mentally. It took me decades to truly understand who I am and why the reflection in the mirror never felt quite right.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For years, I’ve been binding or taping my chest every single day in order to feel somewhat at ease in my body. But binding comes at a cost, both physically on my ribs, back, and neck, and emotionally on my sense of peace. I’m finally ready to take the next step: to live freely and fully in a body that feels like home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>I have top surgery (a bilateral mastectomy) scheduled for May 14th, 2025, in Arizona.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/90412291_174502523731096_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since changing jobs, I have been uninsured, and my current employer doesn’t offer healthcare benefits. I’m living somewhat paycheck-to-paycheck, but I’ve been lucky enough to be pre-approved for lines of credit to help finance my surgery. Still, the full cost will be around <strong>$9,100</strong>, and is out of reach on my own. This total includes the surgery, hospital fees, required pathology, and post-op care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This surgery is much more than a procedure. To me, it will be a homecoming. A chance to see myself in the mirror and finally recognize the person staring back. I’ve never invested this much into myself before, and it isn't easy to ask for help, but I know I’m not alone. If you're able to contribute, no matter how small, or even just share this page, it would mean the world to me. Your support brings me one step closer to living authentically, to breathing a little easier, literally and emotionally, and to feeling fully at home in my skin.

<div>You know how there are some people in this world who emit a love frequency so strong it gives you goosebumps? Or how some people unknowingly spread light and joy to every person they come in contact with? Some people ease your worries with just the warmth of their voice as the sound of their laughter shifts the energy of a whole room. Some people hug you and you feel your soul open up, and you get emotional and you’re not even sure why.. Some people-some rare and precious gems-are all of these traits embodied. Some of you are probably reading this and thinking, “I actually know someone just like that! Colin Fortnum.” You would be correct. Colin is the kind of soul who is placed strategically on Earth to move humanity. And honestly, that is probably an understatement.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As much as we want to stay in the above paragraph forever, were here to share that on Jan 22nd Colin was diagnosed with 3 malignant masses in his left testicle and is undergoing surgery in just two short weeks to have everything removed and biopsies and testing done to determine his next steps. Colin is without health insurance and will be facing what comes his way as self pay while actively looking for coverage. I’m asking you from the bottom of my heart to consider a donation and/or to share this link.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Colin and his wife are DEDICATED, career long members of the service industry. They work their tails off with palpable joy to serve their community. Colin as a hairstylist and Abigale as a bartender and server. What they are experiencing on the healthcare end of things is unfortunately a classic American story. They work really hard and make enough to pay their bills, take loving care of their precious son Walter (who is 2!), enjoy their life and not qualify for any government help with medical insurance…but not necessarily enough to afford all of that plus $1200 a month to cover only two people with a plan that has a high deductible, a high out of pocket max, high copays anyway.. So Colin went the extra mile to completely change his lifestyle. He changed his diet, began working out 5 days a week, drinks more water than a camel, eats healthy foods and even takes walks outside during his breaks at work. He decided if he couldn’t have insurance at this time he would take disease prevention and caring for his health and body very seriously. He is in the best shape of his life and ready to fight!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nothing is more important than Colin getting the proper testing and treatment he needs so he can continue to be the world’s best dad, husband and friend.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Let’s COME TOGETHER FOR COLIN and help get him and his family on the other side of this.
</div>

Coming together for Colin

<div>On March 14th, beloved wife and mother Patricia Sommo passed away peacefully in Columbia SC. The family is currently sorting out the end of life processes and if you would like to help out, you are welcome to donate here. We thank you very much in advance.

<p>I have run Skid Row Garage for the last 12 years. Skid Row Garage is a DIY music venue in York, PA. I have hosted bands from all over the country and all over the world in a tiny room here in York. We have built a community of local musicians and music fans that bands and artists rave about everywhere they go. Recently, the venue was forced to closed. Skid Row Garage cannot continue as it has for the last 12 years. We can no long longer operate as a DIY space. I know how devastating this feels to many people. This will affect our scene locally here in south central Pennsylvania, as well as nationally.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>I am not seeing this as a defeat. I am seeing as as an incredible new opportunity; an opportunity to grow this idea that I have fostered into something bigger and better for everyone involved. We are receiving messages of support from far and wide, and I hope to ask each of you to help me take Skid Row to the next level.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>I am going to open a new Skid Row Garage as a legitimate venue. I am going to give local musicians a chance to play to a bigger crowd. I am going to build a venue that can draw in bigger artists than I was capable of attracting to the old location. I am going to make sure that all the misfits and outcasts, who have felt welcome and accepted at Skid Row Garage, will still have a place to call home.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>I cannot do this alone. Any building that I find will need to be built to suit our needs. We will need to build a stage, storage rooms, update the wiring and plumbing, install fire suppression, and, of course, build a suitable sound system. This is on top of the rental costs of the building itself, utilities, legal fees, and insurance costs, as well as all the unforeseen expenses that are sure to arise.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>This is where I ask you, my community for the last 12 years, for help. I am raising funds to help offset all these costs. I hope we can get this up and running again as quickly as possible, and not cut any corners. The money you donate will be put into building a dream that started in a garage 12 years ago. Anything over the goal will only help us make the venue better for everyone.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>So, I ask you to please donate. I ask you to help me to keep bringing bands from all over the world to our little corner of it. Every donation, big or small, is appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share. Spread the word far and wide and help me keep DIY alive!
