“Forced by Circumstance” by Dr. Norma Alarcón: A New Book Presentation and Conversation! Another great talk about the future of literature and poetry. TODAY~!- I’m delighted to share this latest celebration of my mother Norma Alarcón’s book, Forced by Circumstance: A Chicana Feminist Journey (1981–2024). It’s a meaningful opportunity to honor her writing, her pioneering scholarship, and a lifetime devoted to bringing Chicana voices and experiences into the conversation. Your generosity and encouragement have meant so much to our family. As we celebrate this milestone, thank you for helping us support Norma and preserve the work and stories she has shared with generations. She's planned a new memoir, so we're still seeking donations. Thank you! Watch the book celebration here. With gratitude, Opera Joe
