Today I met a woman named Beverly at Walmart. I walked up to her and asked if she could help me get some food because I was hungry. Without hesitation without even knowing who I was she reached into her cart and pulled out a snack and a drink to help me. To reward her kindness I gave her $500… and she instantly began to weep. As we talked more, I learned about the weight she’s been quietly carrying. Beverly is a mother of three beautiful kids. She’s behind on bills and living with the fear that her power could be shut off. She’s doing everything she can just to keep going, all while holding onto a dream of becoming a Registered Nurse a dream that feels almost impossible right now because of the cost of school. And yet, even in the middle of her own struggle… she still chose to give. Let’s rally around her. Let’s help her catch up on bills, keep stability for her kids, and take real steps toward becoming the nurse she dreams of being. Together, we can remind Beverly that the kindness she gives to the world can come back to her in a powerful way. Do your thing, internet ❤️
Today, I met Vincente and his son. I walked up and asked if they wanted to try catching my mystery football. His son caught it, so I handed them $1,000. What I didn’t expect was what came next. Vincente opened up about how heavy life has been lately. He’s a veteran, a former cop who worked in the prison system. He was stabbed on the job, and the injuries have made it incredibly hard to find work again. He’s fallen behind on his mortgage and bills. And then he shared something no parent should ever have to say out loud… He recently lost his second son to SIDS. Still grieving. Still fighting. Still showing up for the child standing right next to him. In the middle of unimaginable loss and hardship, Vincente keeps going—for his family, for his son, for hope. Let’s come together and help lift this family back onto their feet. Let’s remind Vincente that he’s not alone—and that his story isn’t over. ❤️
Today, I walked into a Walmart and met Dolores. I approached her and asked if she could help me buy food for my baby. Without hesitation, she said yes. To honor her kindness, I gave Dolores $500. She immediately began to weep in the arms of her daughter and then she shared her story. Dolores is 86 years old. She recently lost her entire family including her husband and now it’s just her and her daughter trying to get by. Her husband passed away, and with him went his Social Security income. Now she’s fallen behind on her bills, and at her age, she’s no longer able to work to make ends meet. Yet even in the middle of her grief, loneliness, and financial struggle, she was still willing to help a complete stranger. That kind of heart shouldn’t be met with silence. Let’s come together and rally around Dolores so she doesn’t have to carry this season alone, and so she can be cared for in the midst of unimaginable loss. ❤️
Today, I walked into a Walmart and met Ana. I asked her if she could help me wrap a gift for a birthday, and without hesitation, she stopped what she was doing and helped me, no questions asked, with her two daughters. To thank her for her kindness, I told her that the gift was actually for her and it had $1000 in it. She broke down in tears and began to share her story. Ana is currently homeless after she was evicted in April and is caring for her two children who are on the autism spectrum. She works hard driving Uber, but because she has to rent a car for it, it’s been nearly impossible for her to get ahead and find stable housing. Even in the middle of her own struggle, Ana chose kindness toward a stranger. That kind of heart deserves to be met with support. Let’s come together, rally around Ana, and help her and her children get off the streets and into a safe, stable home. ❤️
Today, I walked into a grocery store and met Salimah. I approached her and asked if she could help me buy a jacket for my daughter. Without hesitation, she reached into her pocket and offered me a dollar. I gave her $500 to reward her kindness. That’s when I learned her story. Salimah is currently homeless, living in a shelter with her five children. As her rent went up without prior notice, she was unable to afford it, and the landlord changed the locks on her and her children. She has been doing everything to get back on her feet. She works in the Bronx at a park and is doing everything she can to provide for her children. Even in the middle of her own struggle, she was willing to help a stranger. Let’s come together, rally around Salimah, and help get her and her children off the streets and into a safe home. ❤️
Today I walked into a Walmart and met a woman working there named Sharon who was off the clock buying groceries. I approached her and asked if she could help me buy some food for my baby. Without hesitation, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a dollar to help me. I then gave her $500 for her kindness, and she began to tear up and tell me her story. As we talked, what I learned broke my heart. Sharon is 71 years old about to turn 72, and after her son passed away, she went into credit card debt just to bury him. She’s struggling to make ends meet and put food on her table at the moment and has no clear path to retirement. And yet, through all of that pain, she was still kind, generous, and full of joy. That kind of heart deserves to be seen. Let’s rally around Sharon and help her retire. Do your thing, internet ❤️
I met Carlos and Javier at Home Depot, and they were looking to do any hard labor for work. That's when I told them I was instead taking them to Knott's Berry Farm theme park and handed them Santa hats for Christmas! All day they laughed and felt like kids again! Then I surprised them each with $500, and they began to tear up, saying they weren't going to be able to pay their rent and phone bill this month because of how slow work has been. So I say we come together and make Javier and Carlos's Christmas extra special and help take care of these hardworking men.
Today, I was in Walmart and I walked up to Randy, who was shopping with his two daughters. I asked him if a wad of cash was his, and he said no. I kept asking, and he continued to say no. I then rewarded him with $1,000 for his honesty, and he immediately broke down in tears and shared that his wife is in the hospital battling stage 4 cancer. He said the insurance isn’t able to cover it, and he’s a struggling small business owner who does handyman work. They don’t have savings and are in desperate need of a miracle. Let’s help Brigette get the treatment she needs. ❤️
