My name is Felicity Vera, and I am organizing this campaign with a deeply personal connection. In addition to struggling with depression myself, I have lost family members to suicide, and through my experience, I have come to believe that breaking the stigma surrounding mental health is crucial. I previously served as the San Diego Area Director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and it was some of the most meaningful work I have done in my life. I am now proud to join a corporate team as a GoFundMe employee, where I can continue to support AFSP's important mission. This campaign aims to bring people together to turn hope into action. By raising funds, we can support vital initiatives in suicide prevention, mental health education, life-saving research, advocacy for stronger policies, and programs for survivors. Every contribution helps spread awareness, reduces stigma, and directly contributes to efforts that save lives and create lasting change. Hi, I’m Felicity Vera, and I’m raising $600 in honor of my 6 year breast cancer diagnosis anniversary, which also coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I'm excited to share my passion for supporting The Breasties Inc., a remarkable organization dedicated to uplifting individuals affected by breast and gynecologic cancers. This nonprofit is the first of its kind to foster an inclusive community for survivors, previvors, stage 4 thrivers, and caregivers. Together, we can work towards improving the experiences and well-being of those impacted by this disease.
