This fundraiser is for a mother and son who are recovering after a stabbing that happened on September 17, 2026. According to authorities, the two were attacked at an apartment building in Florida City, and both were hospitalized afterward. In an instant, their lives were changed, and they are now facing not only the physical toll of their injuries, but the deep pain and trauma of no longer being able to live day to day as they once did.

 Recovery has not been easy. They are unable to move around on their own the way they used to and now need 24/7 help with daily tasks around the house. Simple things they once did for themselves have become difficult, and that loss of independence has added another painful layer to what they are already enduring. On top of that, they are unable to work because of their injuries, which has made this heartbreaking situation even harder to manage.

 Donations will help cover their ongoing needs, including housing, household bills, medical expenses, and rehab as they continue to recover. Because these expenses do not stop while they are unable to work, recurring donations can provide steady support for the costs they will keep facing over time. <div>A few weeks ago, my sister Cyd was involved in a serious car accident that left her car completely totaled. Thankfully she’s alive, but she was injured and has been unable to work while recovering. To make things even harder, she doesn’t have health insurance, so all of her medical expenses have had to come out of pocket.

<div>Anyone who knows Cyd knows how hard she works, and how hard she worked to buy her first car. She’s a full-time electrical engineering student and works full-time to support herself. She has always been the kind of person who pushes through challenges and figures things out on her own, which is why asking for help is not something that she would do.
</div>

<div>Since the accident, she’s been dealing with medical bills, lost income, and the stress of not having reliable transportation. Between trying to heal, keep up with school, and worry about everyday expenses, it’s been overwhelming.

<div>I’m hoping to raise money to help cover some of the costs she’s facing. Medical expenses and lost wages while she’s unable to work. As well as rent, groceries, transportation and other basic necessary costs while she gets back on her feet.
