<div>Since opening its doors in 2006, Suncoast Animal League has relied on partnerships with local veterinary offices to medically prepare our cats and dogs for adoption. When COVID appeared, the wait times for spay and neuter surgeries went from one week to six, and sometimes eight weeks.

<div>Also, in recent years, several local vet clinics have been sold to corporations, causing rate increases which have become nearly cost prohibitive.
</div>

</div>
<div>In order to continue saving lives, while not breaking our bank account, we decided to take matters into our own hands. Since 2022, we have been raising funds to open a surgical suite where annually, approximately 1,500 Suncoast Animal League cats and dogs will have their surgeries.

<div>With grassroots funding coming from generous local donors, fundraisers and our own savings account, we are fully funded and ready to open in the Fall of 2024!

<div><strong>We are now down to the pharmaceutical order which consists of items such as surgical meds, syringes, gowns, antibiotics, etc. to cover the Clinic’s needs till the end of 2024. </strong>Once that final order is placed, the Suncoast Animal League Clinic will open for our shelter cats and dogs, with the ultimate goal of extending help to our community.

Let's "Rescue" Suncoast Animal League

<div>My name is Amanda and I'm asking for help to raise money for some of my oldest and dearest friends, Tim and Carla Arnold. Tim was diagnosed with lymphoma in March. He didn't feel well, his stomach kept hurting and so he went to the ER. That's when they told him he had a mass in his upper abdomen about the size of an orange. The doctors wanted to do surgery but were apprehensive due to where the mass was located so they didn't. He was sent home with medication for the pain while waiting to get the biopsy done. It came back as lymphoma. In April he began chemo and his body was reacting well considering and as time passed he lost weight due to lack of appetite and his hemoglobin began to drop as well as his blood pressure. This put a pause on the treatment. They had to get his hemoglobin and blood pressure  back up. He was in and out of the hospital for that and in May, he began getting blood transfusions and fluids due to an infection. And there's been all sorts of complications since including a blockage in his intestine and surgery is too risky. He was moved to a hospital that specializes in cancer 2 hours away from his home. The cancer is spreading and no longer reacting to chemo. It's grown into his bowels/intestines and surgery is out of the question since he's now developed a blood clot in a lung. His only option now is radiation but that has the potential of creating a hole in his intestine which can lead to death.  Then there's Car T Therapy which has a 1 in 3 chance of success. His last option is palliative care in which they give him only a few weeks.

<div>Through all of this, Tim has maintained his spirits high and continues to joke and smile. He keeps trying to be strong for the love of his life, Carla.  She has had to quit her job to be with him especially now that he's 2 hours away. They have some savings but as you can imagine, the difficulty of this situation and not being able to work regularly has led to them dipping into the savings.

<div>If you could find it in your hearts to donate whatever amount you could, I know that both Tim and Carla would be very appreciative. They have never been folks to ask for anything ever. And they have always been ready to be there for everyone, especially me. My boys know them as Uncle Tim and Auntie Carla and they've helped through some of the toughest times in my life, especially when I was a single mom. Tim is trying to be at peace with dying but struggles with the thought of leaving Carla behind as he's always been her strength. <div>in November of 2019 my parents pursued a dream and purchased a restaurant in their small hometown of Blackstone Virginia. The excitement was beyond describable words and my dad was to be a full time business owner while my mom continued her personal career. My little brother was to be the head chef, something he had also dreamed about as he studied under the previous chef before him. 
</div>
<div>In March of 2020, as we all know, COVID struck with a force. Business had already begun to slow down in December of 2019, but COVID shut them down for quite a while. My parents and my brother did everything they could to hold onto their dream and worked hard to ensure they could open back up in February of 2021. COVID ramped back up that year and they were forced to close their doors yet again. 
</div>
<div>This entire time my brother was working with a condition called spinal stenosis, something that causes a great deal of pain. He powered through day in and day out and made sure his food was made fresh and delicious. In February of 2022 they had to close again in order for him to have his life changing surgery on his spine. He took time to heal, and then the worst happened. 
</div>
<div>In March of 2022, we were out for my dad’s birthday in Charlottesville when we got a call that the restaurant was on fire. My brother rushed to the scene as he was still in Blackstone and assessed the damages. Unfortunately they had to close their doors for repair once more. 
</div>
<div>The grand re-opening of the restaurant was something we all looked forward to and it finally happened in August of 2022 with a new name and a new attitude. Our little town showed up for us then, and we hope that they can show up for us now. 
</div>
<div>The company that made the repairs on the building promptly came after my parents for over $20,000 that they claimed they were owed that insurance supposedly did not cover. The repairs were slow to be completed considering the damage didn’t warrant the repair time and they were closed for over four months in peak summer time. They went to court and a decision was made, not in our favor. My parents came up with a plan and determined that they would make payments to this company, and a court date was set for next month (December). This company then proceeded to place a lien on the business bank account and took absolutely everything that was in there and will continue to do so until they are paid up, something that was never discussed nor agreed upon.

<div>101 on Main Eatery and Pub has only been open one continuous year since owning the place for three full years. They have had disruption after disruption and now the rubber is meeting the road. We need help. My family wants nothing more than to keep this business up and running and to continue to serve the wonderful patrons that walk through those doors. There have been many five star reviews since reopening, in fact they have been consistent. Lack of business is not the issue, unfortunately it’s the big guys picking on the little guys who are just trying to survive. Please consider donating. If you love fresh food and a great atmosphere, this is the place for you. They take pride in what they serve and they take even more pride in how they serve it. Creating this go fund me was not done lightly, and it was a difficult decision to make. We strive to be successful small business owners, but realize that without you and your consistent patronage, we would be nothing. Leah, Stella & Lucy House Fire Fund

<font color="#333333">**Forrest’s kidney, Freddy, is doing great but he is hospitalized due to his malformation leg.  Please help out if you can since his mom, Tonia, doesn’t receive caretaker pay when Forrest is hospitalized.<br /><br />After 8 years of being on dialysis, 8 1/2 year old Forrest Holt will be receiving a brand new kidney on April 13, 2022, at Children’s Hospital in Colorado!!  This is a life changing procedure for Forrest who was born with a vascular malformation in his right leg, causing high blood pressure and kidney failure.  <br /><br />Forrest’s mom, Tonia Reynolds, has been his home nurse his entire life, which is her full time job and requires her to care for him 24 hours a day, as well as his 3 siblings, 10 year old Carter, 2 1/2 year old Penelope and 1 1/2 year old Gwendolyn.  Tonia has to take Forrest to dialysis 4 times a week as well as manage his daily meds and care.  She currently receives an income for being Forrest’s home care nurse but once he is hospitalized, he will be cared for by nurses there so Tonia’s income will be suspended.  Forrest will be hospitalized at least 2 weeks but that can turn into months so this GoFundMe will help Tonia out tremendously!<br /><br />Tonia describes Forrest as the most kind, loving, caring, sweet, brave boy.  After years and years of his life spent in the hospital, coming back many times from the brink of death, he still just wants to be a normal boy.  Tonia says that her strength comes from Forrest.  <br /><br />Forrest’s new kidney will change his life in so many ways!  First, he will finally grow. Forrest’s Hospital Family Fund

On Friday July 13th Forrest had a seizure and became unresponsive on our drive home from Los Angeles. I had to call 911 to help. He was rushed to the ER where they sedated him to stop the seizing. They ran several tests and prepared to have him transferred back to Children's Hospital Los Angeles where he was admitted to the PICU. <br /><br />During his seizure he also suffered from Todd's Paralysis meaning he lost function of his left leg and left arm. Slowly on Saturday he regained movement. As he was waking up his speech was slurred but that also has corrected itself. <br /><br />After a few days in the PICU he was transferred to the floor. Today July 18th Forrest will undergo a procedure on his dialysis catheter to try to break up infection then he will remain in the hospital for 10 more days on antibiotics. <br /><br />The reason for the fund is to help with the never ending struggle of being displaced and when Forrest is in the hospital I do not get paid as his caregiver.

Friends and family:<br />on December 22, 2016, my brother , David Ruyle left this planet to be at peace with God at the age of 38 years old. David was a kind and gentle soul and is no longer in any pain.  He leaves behind his friends and family to include his two young children, Alex ( 11 years) and Gabby (age 10). <br /><br />In response to your many prayers, thoughts and questions regarding his passing, we thought one way to honor him was to set up some college funds for his kids. I am creating this gofundme account at the request of my dearest friends and family members who wish to assist in getting my daughter and I through this very difficult time. <br /><br />My husband of nearly 10 years, Marcos, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 4/2/2016 of a ruptured aortic anyeurism. He was only 36. We have a beautiful 8 year old daughter, and I have to support her until the school year ends and I can move her and I in with my mother. I will then need help with moving costs. <br /><br />The challenge is that my position was eliminated in mid March and I have frantically been looking for work, but I have no income at this time. Marcos was our sole provider, and he handled all the bills. I am in the process of taking over all of the accounts, but I can't receive benefits or make anything official until we receive the death certificate, which can take up to 2 weeks.<br /><br />My daughter and I are genuinely grateful for any assistance we may receive from our generous community.
