Kidney Disease Struggle: Please Assist
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jocelyn—and I’m fighting for my life.
In March 2023, I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, and every day since has been a battle—for my health, my dignity, and the survival of my family. I’ve faced setbacks I never imagined: a stroke, job loss, financial collapse—but I’ve never stopped trying to fight my way back.
Now, I’m reaching out because I can’t do this alone anymore.
Thanks to the kindness of friends, family, and strangers, we’ve already raised $10,000—and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who’s contributed. Your support has kept us afloat. But I still need help to get through the next critical stretch, especially with a kidney transplant on the horizon.
My Health Crisis: When Everything Changed
Before my diagnosis, I was working hard as a manager of a psychic network, supporting myself and my family. But in May 2023, I suffered a stroke that left me unable to work. I relied on unemployment and eventually qualified for disability, which provided a small but crucial lifeline.
After months of recovery, I found a new job and finally felt hope returning. But that hope was short-lived—I was let go within months, and just like that, I was back at square one.
I Fought Back—But Life Had Other Plans
I refused to give up. I turned to freelance writing, and on NewsBreak, I was earning up to $5,000/month at my peak. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had a future again.
Then, without warning, NewsBreak blocked me from posting. Just like that, my main income source vanished. My savings dried up. My credit cards maxed out. My bank account is now empty.
All while living with a chronic illness.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
Today, I am the sole provider for my elderly father and brother—both of whom rely on me completely. My rent alone is $1,000 a month. My disability payments don’t even begin to cover our basic needs.
I’m humbly asking for $25,000 to help us survive this critical time and get me to the other side of transplant recovery.
Here’s what your donation will help cover:
Rent & Utilities – To keep a roof over our heads and the lights on.
Medical Costs – Despite Medicare, I still need at least $3,000 out-of-pocket for the transplant, meds, and follow-ups.
Post-Transplant Recovery – I’ll need time to heal before I can resume any income-generating work.
Caregiver Support – My family depends on me, and I need to stay strong for them.
I’m Still Trying—But I Need Time
Even now, I’m working toward long-term solutions. I’ve started publishing books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, hoping to build sustainable income over time. But that takes months—or years—to build. Right now, I don’t have that kind of time.
I need immediate support just to make it through the next few months of rent, medical care, and recovery.
AND, AS OF JUNE 2, 2025, WE NEED A NEW CAR!! PLEASE, PLEASE, DONATE.
Every Dollar, Every Share Matters
Asking for help is never easy, but your support could be the difference between hope and homelessness, between getting a transplant or being placed on indefinite hold.
Whether it’s $5 or $500, every single dollar counts. If you can’t donate right now, that’s okay—sharing this campaign is just as powerful.
Your kindness could connect me to someone who can help.
From the Bottom of My Heart, Thank You
This journey has been terrifying and humbling, but I’m still here—still fighting. And I believe that with your help, I can recover, rebuild, and return to the life I’ve worked so hard to hold onto.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for helping me keep hope alive.
With love and gratitude,
Jocelyn
