Update October 2025: Thanks to your help, we’re somewhat stable and focusing on transplant readiness — no longer in need of a car, but rent and medical recovery remain urgent
Hi, I’m Jocelyn — and I’m Fighting for My Life
In March 2023, I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, and every day since has been a battle — for my health, my dignity, and the survival of my family.
I’ve faced setbacks I never imagined: a stroke, job loss, financial collapse. But I’ve never stopped fighting to rebuild my life and care for those I love.
Thanks to the incredible kindness of friends, family, and strangers, we’ve already raised over $14,000 — and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has helped keep us afloat.
Now, with a kidney transplant on the horizon, I need your help again to get through this critical stretch and focus on recovery.
My Health Crisis: When Everything Changed
Before my diagnosis, I worked as a manager for a psychic network, supporting myself and my family. But in May 2023, I suffered a stroke that left me unable to work. I relied on unemployment and later qualified for disability — a small but vital lifeline.
After months of rehab, I began freelancing and eventually built a career as a writer and content creator, earning up to $5,000/month on NewsBreak. For the first time, I saw a light at the end of the tunnel.
Then, without warning, my account was blocked. My main income source vanished overnight. My savings disappeared, my credit cards maxed out, and my bank account dropped to zero — all while managing dialysis and the daily reality of kidney failure.
❤️ Why This Fundraiser Matters
Today, I am the sole provider for my elderly father and brother. My monthly rent is $1,000, and disability benefits barely cover groceries, medications, and utilities.
I’m humbly asking for $35,000 to help us make it through this recovery period and prepare for transplant surgery.
Your donations will help with:
Rent & Utilities – Keeping a roof over our heads and the lights on.
Medical Costs – Despite Medicare, I still owe about $3,000 out-of-pocket for transplant prep, medications, and follow-ups.
Post-Transplant Recovery – I’ll need time to heal before I can safely return to work.
Family & Caregiver Support – My family depends on me; this ensures we can all stay stable while I recover.
I’m Still Trying — Just Need a Little More Time
I haven’t stopped creating or dreaming. I’ve started publishing books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, hoping to build sustainable income through writing. But book sales take time — and right now, I need immediate help to stay afloat through the next few months of rent, medical care, and recovery.
Your kindness can give me the breathing room to heal and rebuild.
Every Dollar and Share Matters
Asking for help isn’t easy. But your support truly makes the difference between stability and crisis, between healing and hardship.
Whether it’s $5 or $500, every contribution brings me closer to recovery. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means just as much — it helps my story reach someone who can.
Your compassion keeps hope alive.
From the Bottom of My Heart, Thank You
This journey has tested every part of me — but I’m still here, still fighting, and still believing in the power of community.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for helping me hold onto hope as I take the next steps toward healing.
With love and gratitude,
Jocelyn
