Esteban is not just an expert in his craft, but also a loving father, husband, and friend. His family is devastated. He was returned on November 28th with multiple injuries.

<div>Esteban traveled to Guayaquil, Ecuador on Sunday November 24th to visit his family for thanksgiving as well as undergo the third medical procedure for dental work he was completing. This was a routine trip that many in our community make in search of reliable healthcare and to visit loved ones. Unfortunately, Ecuador, like many countries in the region, has been experiencing a rise in violence, including kidnappings. Many of these incidents are targeted at tourists and people from abroad, often for ransom.

<div>Esteban’s family and friends have done everything they can to bring him home. He was recovered but has sustained multiple serious injuries. During the kidnapping he was subjected to violent torture which resulted in broken bones, bullet wounds, and drugging. The situation is dire and he is currently in a coma. In a time where safety should never be a concern while traveling abroad, Esteban’s kidnapping highlights the risks that are unfortunately becoming more common, even for those who are simply seeking medical care and time with their loved ones.

In Memory of Esteban Ordonez - Help Aid His Family

<div>On the morning of 12/27, my best friend and her family suffered a great loss. Their house was engulfed in flames and due to soot and water damage, they have lost everything in the upstairs part of their house. All of their clothes, prized possessions such as trophies from gymnastics competitions and football tournaments to 90% of their personal belongings are now all gone!

<div>Thankfully no one was home therefore they are all safe - thank goodness! However they will need a lot of help to recover from this devastating lost. Devastating House Fire

In the early morning of November 25th, 2018 a dear friend and coworker Danielle was hit by a car.  Danielle was rushed to the emergency room with a concussion, fractured neck, and head injuries resulting in multiple staples.  Even with all these injuries she continues to persevere.  Upon visiting her I learned she will be in a neck brace for 4-6 weeks, and unable to work. Naturally, her biggest concern was how she will pay her rent. This time of year is about warm connections, time with family and friends, and giving.  Danielle should be having trivial concerns like what her little sister would like for the holidays, not how she will pay her rent after this untimely accident.
