<div>Three years ago, I lost my dad to skin cancer—just as I started my dream job teaching at Santa Ana College. Seven months later, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroendocrine Carcinoma, a rare, aggressive and terminal cancer that changed everything.

<div>My body lit up with over 16 tumors as chemo became my new normal. After 74 rounds, I was told nothing was working. Then a spinal tumor paralyzed me. Emergency surgery, 35+ rounds of radiation, months of rehab later and now over 113 rounds of different chemos—I fought my way back to walking, and more importantly, to creating again.

<div>That’s when Apollo the Alien was born: a character I created to bring light to those in the dark. Apollo is for anyone who’s ever felt different, lost, or alone. Apollo can be anyone and anything we need: a fighter or a dreamer. Apollo reminds me that cancer doesn’t define me.

Emergency Relief for Venezuela Earthquake Victims

<div>When Mulholland Grocery burned down, Tom didn’t just lose his family business…his town almost lost its heart.

<div>Tom Mulholland owns the only grocery store in Malvern, Iowa. His family’s run it for 150 years. It’s the kind of place where people aren’t just customers, they’re neighbors. And when someone’s between paychecks, Tom quietly makes sure they’re still taken care of.

<div>People used to drive hours away for Tom’s meat counter, and that foot traffic kept other Main Street shops alive. After the fire, that business disappeared overnight and with only convenience stores nearby, families suddenly had to drive 20+ miles just to find fresh produce. The town had become a food desert.

<div>Tom could’ve taken the insurance money and retired. Instead, he rebuilt because walking away would’ve meant watching his town slowly die.

Help Save Tom's Grocery Store

<div>Today, we are humbly asking for help for one of our own Hinas board member and her Family.

<div>A devastating house fire has left her family with so much loss. In a matter of moments, their home was in flames, treasured belongings loss, and most tragically, two beloved cats who did not survive the fire. Their two dogs are currently fighting for their lives. They were trapped inside for an extended period of time. The dogs suffered severe smoke inhalation and burns. They are receiving emergency veterinary care, and have been put oxygen, pain medication, treatment for their burns, and intensive monitoring for serious lung damage and other complications caused by the smoke.

<div>The veterinary team believes they have a chance, but giving them that chance comes with significant medical expenses. Due to the severity of their injuries and the level of critical care required, veterinary costs could reach $30,000 or more as they continue treatment and fight for recovery.

<div>Those of you who know Hina's Legacy know that we rarely ask for help for ourselves. We are the ones who show up for the animals. Help Rebuild Marck and Merrily's Home in Waialua

<div>My name is Dylan Andrion, and I serve in ministry with King’s Cathedral &amp; Chapels and For Liberty &amp; Justice. I am based in Maui, Hawaiʻi.

<div>I traveled to Oʻahu to assist with disaster relief efforts following the recent Kona Low storm, joining our King’s Responders teams who were already on the ground mobilizing volunteers and resources. During that time, I personally met Pastor Glenn Duquez and his family, and have been in direct relationship with them as we’ve supported their immediate and ongoing recovery.
</div>

<div>Pastor Glenn Duquez, his wife Leilani, their children, and Leilani’s mother, Sister Andres (79), were directly impacted by severe flooding. Just weeks prior, Sister Andres had lost her husband, who had faithfully pastored Jesus Is Alive Fellowship (Hawaii Church of God) for many years. Glenn and Leilani had moved in to help care for her during this time of grief.
</div>

</div>
<div>During the flood, the family was forced to escape through a window and climb onto their roof, where they remained stranded for hours awaiting rescue. Glenn himself was separated from his family due to road closures and emergency restrictions, unable to reach them during the crisis.
</div>

<div>The flood caused significant damage to both their home, including the church parsonage, and the Jesus Is Alive Fellowship church building. Glenn was scheduled to be installed as the new lead pastor in a special service, but that service was unable to take place due to the flood.
</div>

<div>Despite this, Glenn has officially stepped into his role as lead pastor and is already faithfully shepherding and serving his congregation in the midst of rebuilding.
</div>

</div>
<div>Funds raised through this campaign will be used specifically for:

Help Rebuild Church in Waialua After Hawaii Flood

Direct Relief

The Kona low storm devastated our home and farm in Laie, Hawai’i, leaving us with unimaginable loss. The damage was so severe that we had to relocate our dogs for their safety, and now our once-familiar home and farm are unrecognizable. Every day, we are working to clear out the debris and begin the long process of rebuilding, but the challenges feel overwhelming at times. Our family and the rescues we care for have lost everything in the flood, and the road ahead is daunting.

 The funds raised will go directly toward purchasing materials and supplies, as well as renting the machinery we need to restore our land. Before we can even think about rebuilding, we must level the ground and lay down new layers of material to create a safe foundation. Every dollar will help us move closer to providing a secure and loving environment for our animals once again.

 This storm took everything from us—not just our home, but the safe haven we built for our animals. Help Us Rebuild After the Kona Low Storm

<div>Aloha, my name is Tanya Fuamatu-Anderson, and I am raising funds for our dear Tuimaunei family. I am an aunt to Soriah and a volleyball coach to her two oldest daughters. We are hoping to raise $15,000 to help with immediate and urgent needs such as basic household essentials, transportation, and their day-to-day needs.

<div>While we were away in Japan on a volleyball trip, the Tuimaunei family’s home was severely impacted by the second round of the Kona low storm. Mom (Soriah), Dad (Suaesi), and their two oldest daughters were traveling with us, while their five younger children were at home with their grandparents and aunt.

<div>At approximately 2:00 a.m., with very little warning, they received a call that water had already begun flooding the home while the children and grandparents were still asleep inside.
</div>

</div>
<div>As conditions rapidly worsened, their aunt acted immediately—carrying each child to safety in the middle of the night. By the grace of God, everyone in the home was able to escape safely.
</div>

</div>
<div>During the evacuation, the family’s vehicle was used to help get the children through the floodwaters. That same vehicle is now no longer operational, leaving the family without transportation.
</div>

</div>
<div>We are incredibly grateful that all eight family members were able to find safety at a nearby church. However, Suaesi and Soriah, along with their seven children, are now facing the difficult reality of starting over—working to secure basic necessities, transportation, and a sense of normalcy.

<div>The Tuimaunei family has always been one to give, serve, and uplift others in their community. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Support the Tuimaunei Family After the Flood

<div>Aloha, my name is Nicole Correa—many people also know me as Pono. I was born and raised on O'ahu, in the small town of Waialua. My family has always been involved in agriculture within the community. I am raising funds for my hānai uncle, <strong>Wendell Toki</strong>, who lost nearly everything during the recent Kona Low storm on Oʻahu.

<div>Uncle Wendell lives in Otake Camp, the area where many people saw the video of a home being swept over the bridge during the storm. While his home was not washed away, it suffered devastating damage. His house is now in demolish condition. The front door and interior doors were blown completely off their hinges, and the garage is collapsing. After the storm, almost nothing inside or around the home was salvageable.
</div>

<div>While evacuating with floodwaters already up to his chest, he stopped to help others before thinking of himself. On his way out, he rescued two women who were struggling to escape, then turned around and went back into the rising water to save another person. He also called 911 to alert authorities that the water had begun overtaking nearby homes. Before first responders could even arrive, he had already made a life-saving difference for others—all while his own home was being destroyed.
</div>

<div>Uncle Wendell is a small, local Native Hawaiian farmer who has spent years caring for his one-acre property. He raised egg-laying chickens and cultivated mamaki, dragon fruit, avocados, soursop, butterfly pea, bananas, and lime trees. The storm destroyed fencing, planting supplies, tools, and essential equipment—everything needed to keep a small farm running.
</div>

<div>In addition to losing his home’s structure, he also lost major household items, including a brand-new washer and dryer, two generators, and a new water heater. These were investments he had worked hard to purchase, and losing them all at once has been devastating.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Uncle Wendell is not asking for luxury—only the chance to rebuild and start again.</strong> <strong>Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help him purchase lumber and basic building materials so he can begin restoring his home and farm.</strong> This storm brought relentless rain, and even after the previous 40 days and 40 nights of storms, his property had never flooded like this before.
</div>

<div>Any support—whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser—will help Uncle Wendell begin rebuilding the home, land, and livelihood he has dedicated his life to. We will be uploading more photos as we have them. It was so overwhelming yesterday that they were unable to get photos but will be getting some today. If more funds are raised than needed for those expenses, the remaining amount will go toward replacing basic necessities, including clothing, household goods (food, cookware, dishes, and cleaning supplies), a washer and dryer, a water heater, and potentially a replacement vehicle. In the middle of such devastation, she invited the volunteers helping her to take a moment and swing on the tire swing in her backyard, which is now a river of mud, debris, and totaled vehicles, finding joy in a moment of despair. Despite losing so much, she continues to carry a positive outlook and a giving heart. In true Hawaii spirit, she was already talking about hosting a BBQ to thank everyone who showed up for her, thinking about how she could give back, even now.

Help Grace Rebuild After Hawaii Flood

<div>It’s not easy for Larry or his family to ask for help but we want to share his story and bring awareness, in case anyone feels moved to support him and his Ohana during this incredibly difficult time.

<div>Lawrence "Larry", an 81-year-old native Hawaiian and a third-generation member of his family to live in his home, has spent his life giving to others. Whether volunteering locally or abroad, Larry has always believed that there is more happiness in giving than receiving.

<div>On March 14, 2026, during a powerful Kona Low storm, tragedy struck. A massive banyan tree—estimated at 150 feet tall with a root ball nearly 25 feet in circumference—fell onto Larry’s home, destroying it, his car and a friends truck. As a strong Kona gust swept through the valley, a neighbor watched in horror as the tree came crashing down.
</div>

</div>
<div>Larry was pinned beneath the debris and suffered serious injuries. In those critical moments, neighbors immediately rushed to help. Thankfully, a friend was inside the house at the time and knew exactly where Larry was. With courage and urgency, he along with the neighbors cut a path through the fallen tree into Larry’s room, helping first responders reach him even faster.
</div>

<div>So far he has spent over two weeks in the hospital, in and out of the ICU, fighting to recover. The family is relieved to say he is currently still in the hospital but now in a more stable condition. From here, he will be undergoing rehabilitation as he continues his recovery journey.

<div>Larry has lost nearly everything-- the home he and his wife May lived in for 30+ years and his vehicle. This has also deeply impacted his son Jason and daughter-in-law Bree, as this was their home as well. They will be by Larry’s side every step of the way, supporting him through recovery and rebuilding.

<div>On March 20–21, this beloved North Shore home was flooded with 4 feet of water or more, leaving devastating damage throughout the entire house. The home will need to be completely gutted, and with the roof also caving in, it now requires a full rebuild and restoration.

<div>In 1965, she and her husband served a full-time mission together before building a life in Hawaii. Her husband helped build homes in Kuilima, hotels in Waikiki, and contributed to the Polynesian Cultural Center—designing canoes, planting the coconut grove, and building bridges that still stand today. He was deeply loved and respected.

<p>My family and I have been living in Longbridge Haleiwa, Hawaii for multiple generations. 
</p><br />
<p>The recent flood on the North Shore of Oahu was a devastating experience that we will never forget. 
</p><br />
<p>The water flowed violently from across Waialua River, across acres of homes, and made its way to Haleiwa, destroying everything in its path. 
</p><br />
<p><b>Four of our homes on our property have been totally flooded out.</b> The water tore through our entire property, carving out and eating away sections of the land. Cars were pushed up against houses, memories and mementos were literally washed away. 
</p><br />
<p>My father spent his entire life savings and every minute of his days to create a safe place where our family, friends, and community members could gather and enjoy an "authentic Hawaii lifestyle." 
</p><br />
<p>It breaks my heart to see all of my father's hard work and our personal belongings disappear in an instant. 
</p><br />
<p>All the cars on our property were underwater and totaled. I lost 4 dozen musical instruments and $20k in gear, my dad lost $40k in tools. 
</p><br />
<p>The only way for us to evacuate the property was to hop on the backhoe because the water level was too high and the river was gushing across the yard, pushing with a lot of force. 
</p><br />
<p>My sister, who is 7 months pregnant, my mom, who has lupus and essential tremors, my dad, and our 2 dogs jumped on the tractor and drove to safety. My dad and I came back to rescue our tenants who were sitting on their laundry appliances to stay out of the water. We ended up getting stuck on our driveway and had to wait out the flood while rain poured and the flood raged through everything.

<p>We were stranded on the tractor for about 6 hours before the water level and flow were safe enough for us to climb down. 
</p><br />
<p>It was then that we saw all the devastating damage and our belongings floating down the stream out to the ocean. 
</p><br />
<p>The funds and donations will be used for purchasing building materials, assistance for repairs, medical bills, utilities, appliances for 4 homes, and landscaping.

<p>We have a lot of work to do and it will take a while before it becomes as beautiful as it once was, but we are very grateful and blessed to be together as a family.

Despite never having gone to sleep that night, and even preparing for potential floods, due to the low positioning of our neighborhood, our vehicles were under water before we could even consider evacuating that night. What our family experienced between the hours of 1am and 9am on Friday March 20th felt like a living nightmare.

<div>Thanks to our loving, caring and fast-acting neighbors, dear family and friends, and our community members, many who were strangers at the time, shortly after 9am, we were in a safe area surrounded by loved ones ready to support us. There are no words that will ever begin to express our gratitude for this.

<div>The hours and days that followed were filled with countless miracles and reminders that aloha is alive and is the only way forward. We have been blessed with immense support from friends, family and people we have never met. His shop was a collection of time, skill and investment that now desperately needs help.

<div><strong>Nathan Pino</strong> is one of those Venice souls you recognize instantly with his music, his kindness, and his presence. At 73 years young, he has been playing his piano on the Venice Boardwalk for 23 years. Many of us grew up watching him play. Whether we know him personally or from small moments at a local coffee shop or hearing him play on our way to the beach, he feels like family for a lot of us.

<div>Recently, Nathan’s piano and his setup were damaged and confiscated during a city cleanup and he was issued a citation. He also had his van towed earlier this year. This shook all of us who love him, and the video of the event made its way through our community with a lot of heartbreak and confusion.

<div>Nathan is unhoused and he considers Venice his home. We want to help him, and we are being mindful of his comfort and privacy so as not to overwhelm him or create unwanted attention. We want to restore what he lost, protect him from further citations, and support him with dignity and care.

<div>Jack and I have been best friends since I was nine years old. We used to hike, birdwatch, and catch lizards together. When my father passed away in 2008, I became Uncle Jack's primary caregiver. With no spouse, children, or savings, his care became my responsibility and my greatest honor.

<div>On Tuesday, May 20, our beloved friend and fellow <strong>Pasadena Fire Department Firefighter Paramedic, Armen Hagopian</strong>, a dedicated hero from Station 36, was involved in a serious off-duty motorcycle accident. Armen sustained a severe spinal cord injury and is currently recovering in the ICU. His injuries have paralyzed him from the waist down with limited sensation, and there is no indication that his condition will improve.

Most recently, he spent days battling the flames of the Eaton fire, risking his life to save the lives and homes of many in our community. Now, it is our turn to rally around him and support him in any way we can. <div>This past July 4th, our family gathered at my mother, Penny “Nanda” Deupree’s, home in Hunt, Texas, just steps away from the Guadalupe River. What began as a joyful holiday turned into a night of terror when a catastrophic flash flood swept through her home. My mom, my daughters, and I—along with six others, including two small grandchildren—survived only by climbing onto the roof. By the grace of God, all nine of us made it out alive, though so many others tragically did not.

<div>At 83, my mom is spunky, resilient, and deeply loved in this community. But the flood took everything from her—her car, her irreplaceable scrapbooks and heirlooms, and the five-bedroom home she built with my late father, Tom “Pops” Deupree, more than 20 years ago. That home was her nest, the place where she gathered family and friends regularly, and her only financial asset.

<div>After surviving that night, Mom knows she cannot face rebuilding on the river. At her age, the time, trauma, and burden are simply too great. What she does know is that she wants to remain in Hunt—her beloved community where her church, garden club, and weekly gatherings with friends bring her joy and belonging. It’s also where my husband Patrick and I live, and where she finds daily love and support.

<div>We are so thankful to have found a home in Canyon Springs that will allow her to age in place, surrounded by her family, friends, and community. This home will give her back what she lost: a safe and welcoming place to live fully, host gatherings, and remain rooted in Hunt.

<div>On July 4, 2025, a catastrophic flash flood devastated Texas, along the Guadalupe River corridor, leaving heartbreak and destruction in its wake. Among those hard hit is Woody Chambless, a proud veteran and dedicated member of the American Legion Riders Post 208, who has tirelessly served our nation and community. Woody, his wife, daughter, and grandchildren are now facing unimaginable loss after the flood caused catastrophic damage to the cabin on their property where their daughter and grandchildren lived, severely damaged their primary residence, and completely destroyed their truck, trike, and RV. This tight-knit family, who has always given back to veterans and neighbors, now needs our support to rebuild their lives. <div>Casita Blu has been welcoming guests since 2014, offering peaceful stays along the river and, at times, a place of refuge for community members needing temporary housing. In 2022, Paws on the River was added—a safe, happy space where dogs of all kinds could run, play, and be cared for.

<div>Now, both have been severely impacted by this flood.

<div>Sam, in Black Mountain, NC, has lost everything in 4 mudslides that slammed down the mountain taking everything he owned last Saturday, Sept 28th.  Sam was buried in the wreckage for hours of what used to be his home before finally being rescued.  A helicopter was able to eventually deliver him to Mission Hospital in Ashville, NC Saturday night.

<div>Sam injuries include broken ribs, punctured both lungs, broken collarbone, broken shoulder, and broken back.

<div>Many of you may be watching the news and hearing about or seeing some of the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. But can you literally imagine personally being buried in a mud slide?  Sam's home, all of his personal possessions, his shop tools, his livelihood - - gone!!!!

<div>But God must have a wonderful purpose for him still.  Because the grace of God surely had his hands all over this or Sam would not be here still.

<div>Sam has always been a back to nature boy:  hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, etc.  He also loves dancing and music and the arts.  He loves using his skills to help those in need with their homes even if they can’t pay for it.   Sam loves his church; his friends; his cousins; his sister, Gay; his daughter, Emmaline; and son, Hatch!

<div>On Friday, September 27, Hurricane Helene unleashed a thousand-year flood event that destroyed over 24 homes in the community of Beacon Village in Swannanoa, NC. <strong>EVERYTHING was lost in the flooding of our homes</strong>, several of which have been in families for generations. Additional homes in the community had various stages of flood damage.

<div><strong>Residents do not have flood insurance</strong>, as the area is not in a flood plain. People living in these 100 year-old mill houses work hard for a living and will lose their homes without help. As of 10/10/2024, over half the flooded homes have been cleared and gutted, solely through the efforts of volunteers and neighbors, without assistance from the government.

<div>We, the Beacon Villagers, have built a plan to distribute funds to households and homeowners for relief, recovery, and restoration. Our houses, our homes, may be seriously damaged, but our sense of community will survive.
</div>

<div><strong>All funds will go directly towards rebuilding these homes</strong> and restoring hope in the lives of the displaced residents when they need it most. Estimated reconstruction costs are up to $200,000 per home. The funds will be professionally managed by trusted community members for equitable distribution directly to flood victims on a regular schedule, which began in November. We are working with an attorney (pro bono) to apply for 501(c)3 non-profit status and will let donors know when donations will be eligible for tax deduction. GoFundMe is the first step in our multi-million dollar plan to save these homes. If you have additional resource contacts or suggestions, please let us know.

<div>This is for Melinda Williams, my mother-in-law. <strong>Her house, cars, animals, and everything she owned were completely destroyed by Hurricane Helene.</strong> She is a paramedic from Avery County, Banner Elk. who went home in the middle of her shift to save her animals and the little bit of things she could. She realized it was too late when she and her animals were inside the house and water came rushing in. In that short amount of time, her house was destroyed with her and her animals in it. She miraculously survived, but her animals perished, and she was left with nothing. <strong>She was rescued hours later in the raging water after holding onto a tree.</strong> The thought of her two kids and her grandchildren made her fight to the very end to survive. She is beat up, bruised, and cut, but she's alive and is left with absolutely nothing. <div>I have written a short entry here about what happened that night on January 8th,2025; it is nothing less than heroic.

<div>West &amp; Charmane Griffin, Brother and sister, have been living in Altadena since their late Father's time as the Evangelical preacher of the community in the 60's. West is a disabled veteran, still recovering from heart surgery last year for congestive heart failure, and to me he is a hero throughout this whole ordeal. West often struggles with mobility due to his condition, risked his life to save multiple people, including an elderly paraplegic and a young man with 3 dogs stranded during the fire.

<div>Despite his limited mobility, West rushed to the aid of Mr. Eddy Anderson, a senior who is paralyzed from the waist down, ensuring he was safely carried out of harm’s way. Shortly before that, a young man(his neighbor William Lam, me), stranded without family due to their being abroad, pleaded for help to rescue his three dogs as the fire was approaching. West, fighting through pain and exhaustion, drove through the smoke-filled neighborhood, and helped save the animals before guiding his neighbors to safety.Throughout the night, West also went door to door, warning people and helping others to evacuate. Finally, at the last moment, he went back to his house and woke up his sister Charmane as the fire was finally in sight.They were only able to pack up bare essential items before leaving the house behind as the wind and fire had picked up speed. even in the face of overwhelming wind and smoke as the fire embers flew through the sky and landed all over us, West demonstrated the unyielding strength of human spirit! I know this because I was there witnessing all this.

<div>She moved to Altadena in the 1980s with my two sisters, and I was born in 1983. As a single parent, she worked tirelessly for Amtrak while raising us. I have fond memories of her keeping us engaged in sports, after-school activities, and the local Boys and Girls Club. Now that I have children of my own, I truly admire how she balanced work and parenting on her own.

<div>My mother has always emphasized the importance of helping others. Before the fires, she would prepare meals for the homeless in the Altadena/Pasadena area and deliver them to local parks. She believed that since she had been blessed, it was her duty to bless others in return. During the holidays, she would create and sell Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter baskets and flowers to supplement her income, ensuring that any leftovers were given to those in need or to local seniors to brighten their day.

<div> She is an incredibly resilient woman who has faced numerous challenges throughout her life, yet she continues to find joy and strength. In the wake of the devastating fires in Altadena, we are reaching out for support for my mother, who has been profoundly impacted by this disaster. For 40 years, she has lived in a home filled with precious memories, a place where my sisters and I grew up. Tragically, that home has been reduced to ashes, leaving her with nothing but the clothes she was wearing. She lost everything, but thankfully she still has her life.

<div>The community is grappling with this unimaginable loss, and as we try to process the heartache, the reality of the destruction is overwhelming. The Eaton fire was unprecedented, and driving through the streets, witnessing block after block of burned homes feels surreal, as if we are in a movie. Support Ella Brown's Recovery from Fire Tragedy

<div>The family home Wayne grew up in was a central part of their lives. It was a place of love, laughter, and cherished memories where his children and grandchildren spent countless moments celebrating milestones, holidays, and family gatherings. Tragically, this home was destroyed in a recent fire, leaving Wayne and his family grieving the loss of a place that symbolized their history and unity.

<div>On January 6, 2019, Jonas Nelson, Wayne Nelson’s youngest and last born child of seven, disappeared without a trace, leaving his family in unimaginable pain. The last place he said he would meet his father was at the home now burned down home, a place filled with memories, love, and the hope that one day he would return. But now that home is gone, destroyed in the fire, taking with it the last tangible connection to where they believed Jonas might come back. The heartbreak of losing both Jonas and his Childhood home that tied them to him is devastating. Despite the years of uncertainty, Wayne and his family have never stopped searching, never stopped hoping.

<div>The devastating realization of how long Jonas has been missing weighed on our hearts even more in the aftermath of the fire. <strong>It was also the anniversary of Wayne's son Jonas nelson disappearance.</strong>

<div><strong>In his honor, we have founded Mobile Love Outreach, a nonprofit organization committed to helping families searching for their missing loved ones while also providing critical support to individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges.</strong>
</div>
<div>At the time of his disappearance, Jonas had been diagnosed with a mental illness. Too many families face the same heartbreak of watching a loved one struggle with mental health, only to lose them to the streets, the system, or the unknown.

<div>No family should ever feel alone in that fight. <strong>Mobile Love Outreach is dedicated to providing direct assistance, compassionate outreach, and essential resources to those in crisis</strong>. Through a mobile support network, we will transport individuals to rehabilitation centers, shelter programs, and mental health facilities, ensuring they receive the care they need.

<div><strong>We will offer mentorship services, distribute essential care packages, and operate a dedicated hotline for those seeking immediate help</strong>. Our rapid-response initiative connects individuals with available programs and resources emphasizing urgent and effective support.

<div>This mission is more than just a cause, it is a commitment to treating every individual, regardless of their circumstances, with the dignity, love, and respect they deserve.
</div>
<div>We believe in a world where a homeless individual is met with the same compassion as a doctor, because <strong>no one’s worth should be measured by their struggles</strong>. Every person has a story, and too often, those battling mental illness or homelessness are forgotten. We are asking for your support in making a difference.

<div><strong>Louvenia Jenkins is a survivor of the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire</strong> that saw her home of seventy-odd years and all her possessions reduced to ash. Louvenia Jenkins is a 97-year-old neighbor of the Pacific Palisades. She is one of the first individuals of African descent to own property in the Palisades, and certainly the first Black woman to be a homeowner in the neighborhood.

<div>Louvenia Jenkins was and is loved by many, having been an educator in Southern California for years, and a mentor to friends and family for many more years. Just last year, students at Santa Monica Community College made a documentary about her life and, equally as important, how she uplifted the lives of those around her. Not so long ago, she invested much of her personal wealth to create the UNCF scholarship #byLAforLA. Her investment funded the Richard L. Sykes Memorial Scholarship, named after her cousin. Starting in the 2019-2020 academic year, the Sykes Memorial Scholarship supported 25 rising first-year African American students who were residents of the greater Los Angeles area, through up to five years of college.

<div>In many of our times of need, she was there. Now, it is only right that in her time of need, we as a community stand beside her.

<div>Her property is gone, and she has little hope to see it restored within her lifetime, but we can still afford her comfort.

<div><strong>The funds generated for this campaign will be used to support Louvenia Jenkins and her caregiver, Jose, who rescued Louvenia from her home and has been working around the clock to ensure the safety and comfort of Louvenia in these trying times. The most pressing concern at the moment is securing adequate lodging for a woman of her age.</strong>

<div>I created this fund in support of my grandmother, <strong>Dorothy Frank of Altadena, CA</strong>. She lost everything she owns in the Eaton Canyon fires, including her home she built and worked hard for with my late grandfather over 50 years ago. With the support of so many amazing people we’ve been able to support my grandmother and over 100 families that needed support in the beginning stages of the aftermath of the fire. We’ve donated to Pasadena Non profits that were actively in the community hosting essential drives, delivered hot food, clothes, shoes, household supplies, hygiene products and given monetary support to families who needed money for hotel stays or food gift cards. We are soooo grateful and touched by the support given to our community and couldn’t have done it without you! A huge thank you to people who have shared our story and mission. <div>We are raising funds for Full Arepas' founder Kelly Montano, who has dedicated her time, energy, and her own business space to give volunteers a place to gather and assemble humanitarian aid donations being sent out of Venezuela due to the earthquake that occurred on June 24th.

<div>While doing all of this, Kelly has been navigating her own personal crisis — her mom and dad have not been found in the past few days, and we're still waiting on answers. Even in the middle of that emotional turmoil, she's kept showing up for our country.

<div>We're hoping these funds can help support Kelly directly as she carries the weight of this — including covering the cost of machinery to search through the rubble for her parents. No one should have to fundraise for something like this, but we're asking anyway, because Kelly has given so much to others and now it's her turn to receive that same care.
