What they care about

I have a small dog rescue. I don’t ask for help unless we really need it ❤️ Follow @panama_paws on Instagram to see the dogs you help save ❤️‍🩹

My rescue friends at Texas All Creatures Rescue need our support Here’s Dolly’s story.. and it’s just the beginning… By the time Texas All Creatures Rescue received the email about Dolly, she had already been failed for far too long. This little senior dog had found her way to a woman’s trailer home in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The woman didn’t know what to do or where to turn, so she emailed TexasACR with a plea to help. Twyla, the wonderful founder of TexasACR tells the story as such… We desperately wanted to say yes—but before we could rescue Dolly, we needed to find a safe place for her to land. Thankfully, kind people stepped forward and committed to fostering her long-term. Once Dolly had somewhere safe to heal, we moved quickly to bring her into our care. Dolly has clearly endured a very long period of neglect. Her coat is severely matted, and she needs to be carefully groomed before we can fully understand the condition of her skin and body underneath. As a senior dog, she will also need a complete veterinary examination, diagnostic testing and whatever treatment is necessary to help her become healthy and comfortable again. We did receive one wonderful piece of news: Dolly tested negative for heartworm—something we are incredibly grateful for, especially after she survived outdoors in Texas. Donations will help cover Dolly’s: • Professional grooming and mat removal • Complete veterinary examination • Senior bloodwork and diagnostic testing • Vaccinations and preventatives • Medications and any additional treatment she may need • Ongoing care throughout her recovery We named her Dolly in memory of Dolly Parton—a devoted dog lover and a beautiful example of kindness, generosity and compassion. This sweet girl has spent far too long being overlooked. Now, she finally has people who see her, a safe place to recover and the opportunity to feel like herself again. Please consider donating to Dolly’s care or sharing her story. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us give this deserving little lady the fresh start she has waited so long for ❤️
Sometimes a single message changes everything. We recently received a heartbreaking call for help about a dog living in unimaginable conditions. A tourist came across a sweet dog confined inside a small wooden box. Unable to look away, she documented what she saw, kept a close watch on the dog, and reached out to us for help. When we saw the footage, our hearts shattered. No animal deserves to live this way. No dog deserves to be forgotten, isolated, or left without comfort, care, and love. At Panama Paws, we often say, "If you see something, do something." When an animal is suffering, we believe action matters. Looking away was never an option. The truth is, taking on another rescue right now wasn't part of the plan. Rescue rarely happens when the timing is perfect. We are already stretched thin, and we do not currently have the funds needed to get her to safety in the USA. But we also know that if we don't step up for her, who will? Our goal is not only to rescue her, but to get her on a life-saving transport alongside two other dogs who are also waiting for their chance at safety. All three dogs are scheduled to travel to the United States, but we still urgently need to raise the funds to make their transport possible. Your donations will help cove • International transport to the United States (Flights, Transportation, and Travel expenses) • Documentation for airlines (health certificate, airway bill, CDC, Cargo broker fees) • Ongoing medical care (in Panama and in the USA) • Food, supplies, and rehabilitation (if needed) • Safe boarding and care while they prepare for travel • Ongoing support once they arrive & vet costs Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving these dogs a chance at a new life. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Sometimes one share reaches the person who can make all the difference. It takes a village to save a life, and today we're asking ours to come together for this baby girl - and the two other dogs counting on this same transport. Together, we can help replace fear with safety, loneliness with love, and suffering with hope. Thank you for believing that every dog deserves a chance. For her. And for them.

I came across a post of a senior pittie named Winston a couple weeks ago on Instagram. Winston had been found as a stray and in the shelter for 610 days. He was adopted from the shelter on the 610th day to only be found on a Craigslist post 30 days later as "anyone want this dog?" To make things worse, Winston was then found abandoned and brought to the shelter. The Passaic Animal Shelter welcomed him back with loving arms. Winston remained in the shelter for another 100+ days. A shelter is for no dog to be, but especially for seniors. They should be living out their golden years loved, held, and seen. When I heard of Winston's story, I could not get him out of my mind. I was so worried that he could end up in the wrong hands yet again. I knew I could not let that happen to him and so my rescue (Panama Paws Dog Rescue) pulled him from the shelter. Winston was a staff favorite at Passaic and he is truly full of love. He loooves to be pet and loves to be around people. He is decompressing and getting used to his new environment at our rescue. He is getting tons of attention and the love he has always deserved. He is such a sweet boy! Winston is about 9-10 years old we think. And because he has lived a life of neglect, we are going to try our best to catch him up on whatever he needs medically. Below is a list of what we hope to accomplish for him. His first vet appointment is on April 16th, which includes an orthopedic exam on his back legs as well. He can walk, but we can tell he is in discomfort and possibly pain. His back right leg is not in great shape and we suspect it is a torn ACL. He may need surgery or lots of physical therapy. Or both! He is definitely in need of a serious dental. I would like to get him see by an ophthalmologist because his eyes look a little cloudy. We will be getting him a senior blood panel. He is also not neutered and will see what the vet advises. All of this will be very expensive and we want to start fundraising for Winston so that he can get whatever he needs to feel his most comfortable in his senior years. We want to get him feeling good! I will know more this coming Wednesday at his vet appointment and will be updating you all with every step of the way, including estimates and invoices for whatever he receives. You will see exactly where your donation will be going! Thank you all so so much! No donation is too small!
