<div>On the early morning of Sunday, September 13, 2026, an irreplaceable light was stolen from us. Chance Lee Martin was walking after a night celebrating the Cats with his fellow Kentuckians when a driver at the University of Kentucky hit him and ran, leaving his family with broken hearts and confusion.

<div>Chance was a remarkable young man. A recent graduate of Holy Cross High School, his fellow students, friends, and family remember him as the person who lights up a room just by walking into it. He was someone who would give the shirt off his back for those he loved. He was loyal, kind, athletic, and someone who just wanted everyone to feel loved and included. Chance showed his hard work through continuing his education at NKU while holding a full time job. He had so many dreams and ambitions that will never be forgotten.

<div>We ask for any financial help during this time as his single father pays for this unexpected funeral. Any left over will help his grieving and heart shattered father be able to take time off work to process this unimaginable tragedy.

<div>This fundraiser is for the care of the <strong>NKU Cat Colony</strong> for things like food and vet care. The cat colony has been on NKU's campus for about three years, and we currently have five cats: Morris, Sheboss, Shadow, Cow, and Boots.

<div><strong>Morris just had to go to the vet because he was limping heavily. </strong> He got bloodwork and x-rays done as well as medication. The tests and medications totaled $497. Anything beyond this will go directly to the care of the colony and anything else they may need. Thank you!!!

Our mother was truly the heart and strength of our family. For twelve years, she dedicated herself to caring for others as a nurse, always offering comfort and support to those in need. Through her own battle with illness, she remained the glue that held us—the four musketeers—together. Her recent passing has left a deep void in our lives, and her absence is felt in every moment. We miss her more than words can express, and the love she gave us will always be a part of who we are.

 As we navigate this difficult time, our family is faced with the challenge of covering the costs for our mother’s burial and headstone. Honoring her memory and giving her a peaceful resting place is incredibly important to us, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Any support from friends, neighbors, and the community would mean the world to our family, helping us lay our beloved mother to rest with the dignity and love she deserves.

<div>Help Kiwi get his Weird Lil Guy diagnosis! Kidding - he needs an X-ray to make sure there's nothing going on under his gums. The vet quoted between $800-1,200 (they'll do a full dental while he's sedated), and I'll be paying for it out of my savings... which has seen better days. In October 2025, I spent almost $6,000 to save my cat Dewey, and he decided to die anyway. Which is RUDE, but whatever, I'm fine. (I'm not.) Anyway, I've been working hard to rebuild that $6k hole.
