Help Save Historic Schofield Trades and Printing School
Tax deductible
- Effingham Lodge 98, is a nonprofit organization raising money to restore a historic home built circa 1890 at 403 Fairfield St., NE, Aiken, SC.
- This historic home was formerly known as the Schofield Trades and Printing School that was a part of the Schofield Normal and Industrial School founded by Martha Schofield after the Civil War. It is the last remaining building of the historic Schofield school campus.
- To prevent further age-related deterioration, our goal is to raise $51,000 by May 31, 2025 to complete the following:
Install new galvanized steel roof (29 gauge). Costs $28,000.
Repair and paint wood exterior. Costs $23,000.
- Upon completing major renovations, the historic home will be available to community residents for training and educational opportunities; as well as being a venue for community events.
No donation is too small. Every donation will make a difference. Visit our website at: https://effinghamlodge98.org
