Ms. Brenda Goes to Washington!
Donation protected
Last week I saw information for a women's summit in D.C. hosted by the White House. I read through the link and it sounded like an amazing opportunity so I nominated myself - never imagining that I would be chosen. But I was!!
"The United State of Women" is a summit being held June 13-15
My excitement quickly faded when I realized I would have to pay my own way, and then I found out what an expensive destination Washington D.C. is! Especially with such short notice.
I felt disappointed with my prospects yesterday, and found myself wondering how we, as the common people of our nation, can ever expect to be able to help shape the change that is so needed in our nation when we can't afford to attend? (Only the rich can afford hotels that cost $180+ a night!) If I can make it, this is one issue I'd like to raise awareness of: there needs to be funding/resources available for common people to get involved in a national level!
A few people suggested I start this and hopefully I can get donations to my cause. Every little bit helps and it will all add up to make this possible!
I will forever be grateful for all donations, good vibes, and encouragement sent my way. With great expectations of being in Washington D.C. in a couple of weeks to be a voice for the voiceless!
I am including a link to my documentary on YouTube for anyone wondering what my story is about - freedom!
Thank you all in advance.
