We wanted to share some encouraging news today. Yesterday, Brandon underwent another surgery, and doctors were able to close his wound. Today, they plan to begin fitting him for a prosthetic leg, which is an important step forward in his recovery journey. While Brandon still faces significant challenges and a long road of rehabilitation ahead, we are grateful for this progress and for the many prayers, messages, and acts of kindness that have surrounded him and his family during this difficult time. Please continue to pray for healing, strength, freedom from infection, and encouragement for Brandon, Jennifer, and their family as they take these next steps together. Thank you for standing with them. New Update: New blood work shows that the sepsis and spinal meningitis numbers are much lower! This is good news. Also Brandon is doing well, he is strong and has good attitude. Please pray for continued healing and strength for Jenny. She needs rest. Thanks so much for your prayers and help! God bless you all! Further Update Friday June 19: The doctors removed the left leg below the knee and drained a lot of fluid. They now have a wound vac on it and he is in recovery. Please continue to pray. Our God is able.  Update Friday June 19. Brandon is back in surgery and may lose his entire leg, whereas now it is solely his foot. Prayers appreciated. I will update.  Brandon, my cousin’s son, was recently hospitalized with a severe bacterial infection that rapidly became life-threatening. Despite multiple surgeries and aggressive treatment, the infection spread and led to serious complications, including meningitis. In an effort to save his life, doctors were forced to amputate his foot at the ankle. Brandon remains in critical condition, and his medical team has warned the family that his prognosis is uncertain. A few years ago, Brandon lost his mother, my cousin, which has made this time even more difficult for the family. Throughout this ordeal, Brandon’s wife Jennifer has been by his side, caring for their two children, including their youngest son, who is non-verbal autistic and requires extra care. The family is facing overwhelming medical expenses, lost income, travel costs, and the many unexpected financial burdens that come with a prolonged hospitalization and recovery. Funds raised will help cover Brandon’s mounting medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation and prosthetic-related expenses, travel and lodging costs for family members supporting him during his hospitalization, and everyday household expenses while he is unable to work. Donations will also help offset lost income and provide stability for Jennifer and their children as they navigate the long road to recovery and adjust to the challenges ahead. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly support the family’s immediate and long-term needs, allowing Jennifer to focus on caring for Brandon and their children during this incredibly difficult time.
