A Heartfelt Thank You ❤️ I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my GoFundMe, sent me a message, or simply kept me in your thoughts. When I started this fundraiser, asking for help was incredibly difficult for me. I was embarrassed and honestly didn’t know how I would feel putting my situation out there. But the kindness I’ve received has meant more to me than I can possibly express. I am now very close to reaching my goal, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Every contribution, whether large or small, has brought me closer to getting my car repaired and keeping my health insurance in place while I continue my cancer journey. I wanted to add that go fund me suggests that you pick a goal and start low and raise it as you go along. That is what I have done and i’m now at my last total. If i happen to make the money and fix my car before i meet my goal, I will shut it down. Also, I have had donations from other sources which have been added to the total. I never expected to be in a position where I would need to ask for help again. The generosity and encouragement I’ve received have reminded me that sometimes we don’t have to carry everything by ourselves. I know that there are many people out there that need help more than I do and it humbles me to think that people have chosen to donate and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Thank you for helping me through this difficult chapter. I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️
Three and a half years ago, I created a GoFundMe after being diagnosed with Stage III melanoma. Thanks to the incredible kindness of family, friends, and even people I had never met, I was able to get through surgery and the months I was unable to work. I will always be grateful for that support. Although my first surgery is behind me, my cancer journey hasn’t ended. Since then, I’ve continued with treatments, additional surgeries, regular scans, and follow-up care. Like so many cancer survivors, I’ve learned that even after treatment, the journey doesn’t simply stop. Over the past few years, I’ve done everything I can to stay on my feet. I’ve worked multiple jobs, sold personal belongings, and done my best to keep moving forward despite rising costs and ongoing medical expenses. Recently, my car suffered a major mechanical failure, and the repair estimate is around $1,700. At the same time, my health insurance premium of approximately $1,500 is due. I am also due for another scan in the next few months which are $2,000 out of pocket. If I didn’t have cancer to deal with, paying these bills would not be a problem for me. But having 3 years of constant labs, scans, immunotherapy, etc. has been financially devastating. Lately I have been rescheduling or skipping appointments and I know that’s not a good thing to do with this cancer. Without my car, I can’t reliably get to work. Without my health insurance, I risk losing the coverage I depend on to continue my cancer follow-up care and protect my health. Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I never imagined I’d find myself in this position again, and I struggled with whether to create another fundraiser. But I’ve reached a point where I’ve exhausted the options available to me, and I simply can’t bridge this gap on my own. If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, I would be deeply grateful. If donating isn’t possible, I understand. I would appreciate any good thoughts, vibes or prayers just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness, encouragement, or support you can offer. It means more than I can put into words.
