My name is Sheila, and I am reaching out because I am facing one of the hardest times of my life. I am homeless, a double amputee, and paralyzed. Every night, I am scared I might freeze to death outside in the cold and snow. I went to Cooper hospital in Camden three times in one week, trying to get them to place me in a nursing home, but was told 'I'm not their problem.' The fear and uncertainty I feel are overwhelming, but I am holding on to hope that there are people out there who care and want to help.
I am seeking support to help me get off the streets and into a safe, warm place. The funds raised will go toward a security deposit, first month's rent, application fees, and utilities like electric and heat. These essentials would give me a chance to rebuild my life and regain some stability. I am also hoping to get a wheelchair accessible vehicle, which would not only provide me with shelter but also the freedom to move around safely.
It would be a blessing from God if I could get enough for at least a vehicle to sleep in so I don't die out here. I would be ever so grateful for any support you can offer. Your kindness could truly save my life and give me a second chance. Thank you for reading my story and considering helping me in my time of need.
