<div>Groceries and Luncheon are estimates but yes, it's as expensive to feed 12 people for 7 meals of home cooking as it is to feed 12 people for one meal out on the town (and give a reasonable tip).

<div><strong>Since Friday activities in Lake George are roughly $950, we ask that if you are attending those activities your minimum contribution is $100. </strong>

<div>As for everything else, it's way too much to ask to do the math and split up per person based on how many meals we're feeding or how many nights you are staying since not everyone will be there for the same amount of time. If we were to split it up just on number of attendees (15 of us including Sam and I) it would be a little over $100 per person, but it hardly seems fair to have people pay for ziplining if they don't get to participate. So just contribute what you are comfortable with and we're good to go!

<div>Lastly, since this is an easy place to update you on the weekend plans, here's the rough layout of meals and activities.

<div>Meals will be provided Thursday Night, Friday Morning and Evening, and all three meals on Saturday. Additionally we are buying some snacks, bringing seltzer and some bottled water (gallons, but they do have potable water on site), and potentially going out to a diner on Sunday morning with anyone that is interested (not included in this cost, but if we go over the goal we will likely cover it). Sunday breakfast may also be any leftovers from the rest of the weekend. The meals include (and are subject to change): Pancakes; Eggs; Sausage/Potato/Onion/Pepper Skillet; Grilled Chicken and Vegetables; Hamburguesas con Queso (o sin queso, no soy tu madre); Chicken Burritos; Smores (not a meal, but also, smores). I'll be prepping everything ahead of time. If you have dietary restrictions and are concerned about any of these meals, either feel free to bring something specific for yourself or reach out to me, Scott!

<p>Our son <b>Javion Magee</b> was found in Henderson, North Carolina, hanging from a tree. Our hearts are heavy, and the stress of trying to find answers and traveling back and forth is weighing heavily.

<div><strong>Michelle was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer in Aug 2023.</strong> Five days later, she was on an operating table receiving a flap repair and tumor extraction, followed by 6 weeks (30 doses) of radiation. This led to a 3-month remission. Back in December 2023, she became symptomatic again and began the tests for follow-up with poor results.

<div>This past March, Michelle's follow-up appointment found that her cancer had returned and aggressively, migrating to her lower jaw, neck, and lymph nodes. Since April, she has been through a battery of more tests, which she is receiving at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. She has found assistance with lodging at the Hope Lodge in NYC for no cost. However, her disability doesn't cover travel, caregiver, and grocery expenses, and <strong>she is asking for our help so that she may be able to afford and receive the Proton Beam Radiation that is specialized in NYC and not provided here in Albany to give her a fighting chance.</strong>

<div>Finally, a friend finds a wheelchair for the children's father! On November 9, the whole family fled on foot, without taking anything. The children, their parents, their uncle and their grandparents walk 20 km to go to a cousin's house in an old refugee camp. They all live in one room. It was high time: two days after their departure, their building was completely destroyed!

<div>Unfortunately, the respite is short-lived. The Israelis begin to attack the neighborhood where they are refugees! The family flees again. 5 km walk to a football field. There, they must pay 500 dollars (one and a half months' salary) to receive enough to build a makeshift tent. They buy four mattresses to put on the floor. They share them to sleep, at night or during the day.

<div>Since then, it’s been survival. You have to pay for everything: a little wood to bake thyme bread, the only food possible. There is no more drinking water. So, they have to drink water that is unfit for consumption, at the risk of getting sick... when they find water and can buy it. Clothes and blankets are very expensive, if you can find them. But it's raining and it's cold.

<div>The bombings continue, the Israeli soldiers are still there. Omar and Naji are very scared, like everyone else. They would like to be able to leave the Gaza Strip.

<div>In order to facilitate my family's evacuation from Egypt , I'm setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise €42,000. Here is the breakdown of the funds:

<div>Our dear friend Rich was struck by the sudden news, at the age of 55, that he will be battling Metastatic Malignant Neoplasm of the Lung and Secondary Malignant Neoplasm of the Brain.  He has been out of work for just over three months and NEEDS OUR HELP.  Though Rich is a hard and dedicated worker and continued to work for the first 8 weeks of treatment his body just couldn't sustain the physical aspects the job demanded of him.  Thankfully his medical treatments and medical expenses are being covered by insurance, however, his day-to-day costs need our support!

<div>Most of you know who I am but for those of you who don’t,  My name is Sadie and I’m Chayton’s big sister. Mid afternoon on January 14th my brother came out of his room with a droopy face and a personality we have never seen before ( along with vomit and pee on his pajamas)…something was wrong. After calling 911 he was rushed to Albany Medical Center in the pediatrics ward. We were told after many hours of waiting, testing, and scans that my 17 year old brother suffered multiple strokes at one time. My baby brother, who seemed perfectly healthy the night before, had a stroke. Chayton spent 26 days in AMC while doctors worked around the clock to find the cause. Turns out, an immune deficiency disease is the culprit. We have some answers, but not all. We are also dealing with the damage that was done to his brain after his strokes. Chayton was just recently transferred to a rehabilitation center to start therapy. As you all can imagine after 26 days in a hospital with non stop testing, labs, scans, and so on, our mother and step father are looking at some pretty heavy hospital bills. Along with those bills comes rehab, his ongoing treatment, and the amount of money being spent to make sure home is safe for him. His new childlike behaviors means the house needs to be child proof x10. He has a long road. We are taking this one day at a time. The information we have today can change tomorrow, adding more to this already scary and anxiety ridden experience. We are staying in good spirits and so is my brother, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t scared for the future. With all of that being said, my parents and myself are humble enough to ask for your help. A donation or a share means the world to all of us.
