Compassion in Motion, Inc. is a Houston-based nonprofit with a simple mission: to bring care, knowledge, and hope to our community. We serve two urgent needs in the Greater Houston area: Sexual Health Awareness & Testing: We provide testing, counseling, education, and linkage to medical and mental health services for those affected by or at risk of HIV and other STIs. Our goal is to break down barriers to care and help build a healthier, more informed community. Cancer Care & Comfort: We support patients on their cancer journey by providing care and comfort items that remind them they are not alone. Fighting cancer drains energy and finances; our care packages bring relief, compassion, and encouragement in moments of need. Through these efforts, Compassion in Motion is committed to creating a more health-conscious, connected, and compassionate Houston. Together, we can uplift our neighbors facing life’s toughest battles.
Help Bring This Magical Legacy to Life Hi, I’m Ryne Thunderhawk; a queer, Indigenous storyteller, artist, and creative director, and I’m raising funds to bring my original fantasy series, The Wind Weaver Legacy, to life. At its core, this is a story about power, belonging, identity, and ancestral magic. The first book is complete, and the full arc is outlined across a multi-book series. Now, with your support, we can transform this vision into a professionally produced, fully illustrated, and widely shared saga that centers underrepresented voices in the world of fantasy. About the Series The Wind Weaver Legacy follows River, a young boy growing up in rural Texas who’s pulled into a parallel realm shaped by elemental sages and ancient animal tribes. As he unravels his connection to the mythical Wind Weaver, a force lost to legend, he discovers that kindness, grief, and courage are more powerful than magic alone. This series explores: Queer and Indigenous identity Mythology, nature, and elemental balance Found family and cultural legacy Mental health, resilience, and hope It’s written for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, and dreamed of a world where they could be the hero. Why I'm Raising Funds I want to be vulnerable here - I cannot do this alone! This campaign will fund the next stage of development and professional publishing for the Wind Weaver Legacy series. Your donation helps: Hire Indigenous and LGBTQ+ editors, illustrators, and designers to shape the final book in a way that honors the story and its roots Replace the AI-generated placeholder images used in early concept work with custom, ethically created illustrations Prepare for printing, publishing, and distribution of the first book Build a strong foundation for the entire saga, including marketing, audiobook development, and educational outreach Most importantly, your support creates paid opportunities for other creatives who believe in inclusive storytelling, especially those from like-minded communities. This isn’t just a solo project. It’s a community-powered collaboration. What Your Support Makes Possible Every dollar raised brings us closer to: Launching the first book with professional polish Expanding the story’s reach through schools, libraries, and festivals Developing companion materials, artwork, and translations Building a sustainable path for the series to continue with care and creativity Whether we raise enough for a full launch or start smaller with core elements, every step forward matters, and your support helps shape the legacy we leave behind. How You Can Help Donate; any amount helps move the story forward Share this campaign with friends, educators, readers, and allies Follow @rynethunderhawk to stay connected to the journey Thank you for believing in this dream. Thank you for making space for stories that reflect the power, complexity, and beauty of who we are. Let’s build this world together. With deep gratitude, Ryne Thunderhawk

Over 300,000 kids in Houston go to sleep every night without a bed. The A Place to Dream project is my way of spotlighting The Furniture Bank’s No Kids on the Floor initiative, using storytelling to drive change, one bed, one child at a time.
