A Place to Dream: Giving Every Child a Bed to Call Their Own

Every night in Houston, over 300,000 children go to sleep without a bed.

They rest on cold floors, share couches, or curl up in the backs of cars, because for far too many families, a safe, warm place to sleep is a luxury they simply can’t afford.

This project is about more than furniture.

It’s about dignity, comfort, and the basic human right to dream.

What Is The A Place to Dream Project?

A Place to Dream is a storytelling and awareness campaign created to change that heartbreaking reality.

We’re capturing and sharing the powerful journey of The Furniture Bank and its visionary founder, Oli Mohammed, whose No Kids on the Floor initiative provides beds and furnishings to families rebuilding their lives after crisis, homelessness, or domestic violence.

Through emotional storytelling, in-person events, marketing campaigns, and a series of mini-documentaries, A Place to Dream will shine a light on the hidden crisis of childhood poverty, and celebrate the donors, volunteers, and community leaders making hope tangible.
