So I needed a few days to rest and recover after what was a mental 42 or so hours from leaving home at 7am Friday morning to returning home at 10pm on Saturday night but the update on the challenge is here. Myself and Aidan MANAGED TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE IN 23Hrs & 45Mins!! It was really tough but we were always motivated to complete it within the 24 hours one way or another and we had no doubts in our minds that we would do it. Have a look through some of the pictures taken over the duration of the challenge, plenty of laughs were had along the way, and both our bodies are knackered beyond doubt! Special thanks goes out to my Uncle, Dan Makepeace, who was our designated driver over the challenge and without his help, we most definitely would not have completed the challenge within 24 hours! ❤️

Finally the day has come for the 3 Peaks. We set off at 7am this morning, and we’re aiming to start the challenge at Ben Nevis at 5pm tonight. I will try to post some updates in here across the day if I can, but the best way to stay up to date is through my social media, either on my Facebook page or my instagram (oli_makepeace). Hi, My name is Oli and on Saturday 5th September, my friend Aidan and I will be taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for our very good friend, Dan Arnold, and his fiancée. The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon — all within 24 hours. In total, we'll be tackling over 3,000 metres of ascent, covering approximately 23 miles on foot and 450 miles by road.   We will be funding all of our own travel, accommodation, food, equipment, and other costs, meaning every penny donated will go directly to Dan and his fiancée.   Dan's Story In June 2022, Dan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.  Since then, he has shown incredible strength and courage through multiple rounds of treatment, countless hospital appointments, and long stays in hospital. Tragically, despite everything he has endured, the cancer has returned aggressively on three separate occasions.   As part of his treatment, Dan underwent a knee replacement and several rounds of chemotherapy in an attempt to stop the disease. When these treatments were unsuccessful, he was faced with the unimaginable decision to have his leg amputated. Despite this life-changing surgery and everything he has been through, the cancer continued to progress.   Most recently, Dan received the devastating news that the cancer has spread to his lungs and that his illness is now terminal. This has been an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time for Dan, his fiancée, and everyone who loves and cares about them.   How Your Support Will Help We want to do something meaningful for Dan and his fiancée during this incredibly difficult time.
