 As for some of you that know Darla suffered a severe stroke sometime early Monday morning. She ended up being life flighted from MMH to OSU where she had emergency surgery. They were able to get 50% of the clot, which they consider a success. Her carotid arteries are both 70% blocked and this is where the strokes are originating from. She will be having surgery to place a stent in one when her brain has recovered from her first surgery. This will hopefully happen Tuesday, depending on MRI results. She has experienced paralysis on her right side and is unable to talk. Yesterday she was able to lift her right leg slightly off the bed and they did get her up into a chair. She has a long road to recovery and we ask that you continue to pray for her complete healing and her family during this very scary and difficult time.

 I’m setting up this go fund me to help Darla and her three kids get through this difficult time. As we all know bills DONT STOP. Darla lives at home with her 18 year old daughter Jaden and we as a small community need to step up and help take the burden off of this young girl and her older siblings. Everyone that knows Darla knows she is the caretaker of the community. If she didn’t help watch and raise your kids she probably watched your grandkids, a family member or someone you even just know. If you need a volunteer she is there. She is always involved in 4-H, school activities, church, youth groups and simply just being there.

<div>The Wagner family is facing a challenging time after their son Braxton was involved in a bike accident. He was life flighted to children’s in Columbus . He does have significant brain bleed on the right side  . While Braxton is showing signs of improvement, his recovery will be a long journey, and the family is doing everything they can to be by his side in the hospital throughout the process. Their days are spent supporting Braxton, experiencing emotional ups and downs, and holding onto hope that he will continue to heal.

<div>One of the biggest burdens right now is the cost of daily expenses. The family is staying by Braxton’s side in the hospital, and these expenses will add up quickly. <div>On a Monday night, 12/22/2025, Fort Frye varsity basketball came to a sudden halt when Chatum, a senior Cadet, suffered a serious back injury during the game. What began as a normal night of high school basketball quickly turned into an unimaginable situation for this family.
</div>

</div>
<div>Chatum was transported for emergency care and now faces specialized treatment for a broken back and follow up in Cleveland, more than three hours from home. All right in the middle of the Christmas holiday.
</div>

</div>

<div>During the Christmas week and after, his parents will travel back and forth to get the best care and plan for Chatum available, but not forgetting their daughter, a high school junior, dealing with this pain, in a different way at home. This Christmas, will never be forgotten by this family.
</div>

<div>With that, both parents will be forced to take unexpected time off work, now and in the future. His dad, Caleb, serves our community as a highly respected state trooper, and mom, Tracey, is a highly respected HR professional, with jobs that require their presence. Between repeated long distance travel, meals on the road, potential lodging as needed near the hospital, medical related expenses that are only going to add up, and lost income from time taken, the financial burden will add up quickly.

<div>This fundraiser is not about replacing responsibility or even saying that the Courson family needs it. <strong>I want to be clear that they did not ask for this</strong> because they are a hardworking family that handles their own. This is the Cadet family coming to support them, reminding them that they are never on their own. <div>Many of you know Meagan Tompkins, but for those of you who don’t, let me share a little bit about her. She’s been my best friend since we were babies so that’s 35+ years and counting. She has two beautiful children… a little boy who is 5 and a little girl who is 3. She’s such a positive spirit and has the most amazing smile; however, life has recently tried to dim that smile as she was diagnosed with myeloid sarcoma which is a type of leukemia. She recently spent 50 straight days at Cleveland Clinic undergoing treatment and while her journey is far from over, her attitude has been truly incredible throughout it all. She’s heading back to Cleveland for another round of treatments after getting to spend some much needed time with her babies and regaining some of her strength, and with the help of our incredibly supportive community, I want to help take some worry away from her by raising money to help her in any way we can. Funds raised for Meagan will go toward hospital bills not covered by insurance, as well as care for her two children. Any little bit helps and even if you’re not able to donate, continued prayers are still greatly appreciated. Thank you all for supporting my Meg! &lt;3

<div>Last week, Meg received the most incredible news! PET scan results revealed that her tumor is GONE and there are currently no active cancer cells in her body.  She completed another round of chemo over the course of 6 days and is heading back home today, just in time to be with her family for Thanksgiving! Talk about being THANKFUL!!

<div>Meg is also eligible for a bone marrow transplant which she is thinking will happen around the beginning of January, giving hope for her once terminal cancer to be considered CURED!!

Support Meagan's Fight Against Leukemia

<div>Hello my name is Jake and I’m the youngest son of my mom. My mom has been fighting cancer since 2010 and is on her 7th reoccurrence. Her cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, spine, adrenal glands, lungs, chest wall and liver. She is currently on a strong chemo and gets infusions of chemo twice a month as well as hydration fluids 3-4 times a week and a neulasta injection once a month. So I’m sure you can imagine the financial hardship our family is under. My mom is one that hates to ask for help. She says it makes her feel like a burden, but she is everything but a burden. We are just going through some difficult times. She was receiving 23$ a month in food stamps and she no longer gets that. It wasn’t much but we could at least buy a loaf of bread, eggs and a gallon of milk. I find it sad that the ones who need help rarely get it. So I’m asking for anything that will take this burden off her. They say to stay away from stress but I don’t think that’s possible. My mom is in a lot of pain but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her but I know the truth. Any help whether it’s sharing this go fund me or donating to pay bills or even buy groceries would be a tremendous help to our family. Her whole disability check goes to bills and it’s not much. Please help our family with our cancer journey

<div>Friends of Denise can tell you that this woman would give anything to help her friends and family. She needs our help now. Denise had a stroke and is currently in Riverside Hospital. She is a single woman supporting herself and will have no way to work while she recovers. Her children are not able to help her financially so we need to step up. Please, give what you can so we can, at least, take this burden off her shoulders so she can focus on recovering.

He was life flighted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He sustained life threatening head injuries and is currently in the PICU receiving care.
