<div>Michelle Emery (Ferrelli), known to her students as “Miss M,” has been bravely battling Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer for over 16 months—all while continuing to work full-time as an art teacher for a charter school in Clearwater, Florida. Michelle inspires over 500 K–8 students, creating a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, and confident in their ability to create and appreciate art.

<div><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Dear supporters,<br />My name is Danusia Rozak Sadowski and I live in Illinois, but I was born in Poland.<br />I started this fundraiser for my cousin's little daughter, Matylda Rozak. <br />This little girl was born with severe heart defect - IV pulmonary atresia. The doctors said</span><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;"> there is no rescue for her in Poland. The only chance to save Matylda's life is a colossally expensive surgery at the clinic in Stanford CA, that  Dr Hanley is willing to perform.<br />The parents set up a fundraiser in Poland and already collected 70% of the surgery costs. But there's little time to raise the rest. <br />If necessary I will transfer needed funds to account in Poland. Once they'll come to USA,  they will have access to  bank account/debit card, as I opened new account in my name, but my cousin, Mariusz Rozak, is a beneficiary. They'll need your contributions not only to pay for necessary medical bills and supplies,  but also all living expenses, while they'll be staying in US, while Matylda is going to have her surgery, recovery time and rehabilitation (until they'll be ready to fly back home to Poland). <div>"Matylda Rozak was born with an extremely severe heart defect - type IV pulmonary atresia. Doctors say straightforwardly: in Poland here is no rescue for our daughter! The only chance to save Matylda's life is a colossally expensive operation in the USA, which unfortunately we cannot afford ... Its price may even reach several million zlotys. We are begging for help with all our hearts!

<div>After birth, we only had a few minutes to enjoy Matilda, hug her and feel her. We had to put her under the care of doctors and at that moment the fight began. After a few days in hospital and detailed examinations, doctors discovered several serious defects: left kidney hydronephrosis, di'George syndrome, and gastrointestinal reflux, which led Matylda to severe apnea, causing rapid desaturation and a threat to her life.

<div>Several times, before professional medical help was provided, we had to resuscitate her ourselves, perform heart massage, because she was all blue and was not breathing. It's scary to hold your darling little one while she’s fading away in front of your eyes!

<div><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Matylda was very tired, and she developed sepsis, which worsened her condition, which in turn led to an urgent life-saving operation - systemic-pulmonary anastomosis. After opening the chest and a few hours of heart surgery, it turned out that the veins and arteries are twice as small as the doctors had assumed, their diameter barely reaching 1 millimeter. The heart defect is very complex - it's type IV pulmonary atresia!</span>

<div><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Immediately after the surgery, our daughter's heart started to work better. Unfortunately - after a few days the lung collapsed, which led to severe pneumothorax, then to ascites, liver enlargement and severe left kidney failure. Doctors reattached Matylda to a respirator with the intention of clearing her lungs.</span>

<div><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">We remember that nightmarish day, although we would like so much to forget about it.... While trying to suck the mucus out, Matilda's heart stopped beating. The heart of our little daughter stopped working! Only after 16 minutes of hard efforts, when the doctors were ready to attach her to the ECMO (extracorporeal heart and lung support), our warrior came back to us.</span>

<div>Unfortunately, doctors told us straightforwardly - with such a defect, we will not receive help in Poland. We have to seek help abroad - in the USA. Our only salvation to save our daughter's life is expensive surgery and treatment, which unfortunately we cannot afford. People who know us know that we've always worked hard to give everything to our other children."
