<div>Eric has stage 4 esophageal cancer and is facing news of six months to live based on visits with two different oncologists (<a href="https://eric.blog/2026/05/24/six-months/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">read more on his site</a>). This GoFundMe is both for him and it's to support those he loves as they all face this devastating, impossible information. He has a wonderful family and anything raised here will go directly to them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you don't know Eric, he is the kind of person who you reach out to when you need someone to get into a problem with you. He's the person who pulls up a chair and says, "Alright, what's going on? How can I help?". I've seen him go from helping someone with a development workflow to fixing a door in the span of an hour. He also loves Pokémon and his former Harley Davidson Road King. Having worked with him for twelve years, I can say without a doubt that he is wired to care and to care deeply and patiently. He is wired to act and show up rather than be yet another bystander. If you've used WordPress, WordPress.com, Jetpack, or WooCommerce, you've benefited from his work whether you realize it or not. As he faces this fight, let's set him and his family up for as much support as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Let's be like Eric in this moment and choose to care and choose to show up for him.</strong>

<div>October 30, 2025 UPDATE:
</div>
<div>Hello everyone, thank you so much for all the support and for keeping up with my dad’s and brother’s case. We’re truly working hard to find justice together with FIEL Houston they’ve been a great help, supporting us, advising us with interviews, and helping us find our dad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My dad was classified as low-level at the Montgomery Detention Center, and they told us low-level detainees could be visited on Mondays. We first went for an interview, and just to be sure we would actually be able to see him that day, my sister (Maria Bazan) asked me to call the detention center to confirm, since we have to make the trip all the way to Conroe (we live in Houston).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When I called, they asked me for his A-number, and then the girl on the phone told me my father had been deported that same morning. We were all in utter shock because we felt defeated what do you mean our father was no longer even in the U.S. anymore?!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fortunately, my dad contacted us later that day and told us that he was doing well, though he said his soul felt broken because of how they treated them and how he saw them mistreat my brother .
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re still continuing with the case because they unfortunately rushed to deport my dad, but my brother’s case is still open since there was no need for such an aggressive attack toward a 16 year old child.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Once again, thank you all for your support and kind messages even to the people who take time out of their day to send hateful ones, thank you for giving our case more relevance. :)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>May God bless you all!

</div>
<div>ACTUALIZACIÓN 30 DE OCTUBRE DEL 2025:
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>¡Que Dios los bendiga a todos!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello everyone,
</div>
<div>My name is Selena Bazan, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my family specifically my dad, who was aggressively taken by ICE, and my 16 year old brother, a U.S. citizen, who was also assaulted by ICE.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On October 23, 2025, my dad woke up to take my brother to school located in the Alief area. They stopped by McDonald’s to get a frappe, having a normal morning, when they noticed behind them what seemed to be a regular car with red and blue lights just like a typical police car. My dad had nothing to hide or fear, so although he was confused, he pulled over.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When they pulled into a parking lot and waited for the officer, they were suddenly surrounded by three vehicles,one in front and one on each side. The men got out of their cars wearing ski masks and started hitting the car windows . They tried pulling my brother out, and that’s when my dad went into fight-or-flight mode. He reversed and drove off.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The border patrol chased them and hit their car three times to try to stop them. My dad was determined to protect my brother above all else. He called my uncle, who told him to drive to Restaurant Depot. My dad worked with my uncle as a Chinese food cook and was in charge of buying supplies, so he was familiar with the store and the people there. He thought it would be a safe place where someone could help them but unfortunately, he was wrong.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When they got out of the car and ran inside, the police chased after them and tackled them. My dad couldn’t get very far because he has a back injury. When they tried to lay him flat, he couldn’t, so they became even rougher with him. They never once asked about their legal status NOT ONCE.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Later, my brother said they were parked in a random parking lot when the officers finally realized he was a U.S. citizen and a minor. They let him call my mom using one of their phones, to notify my mom the border patrol was gonna take my brother home ,but my brother overheard that their plan was to drop him off and take my mom instead. Thankfully, my mom wasn’t home, so my sisters and I went to receive him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was bruised, with scratches on his neck, his shirt ripped apart, and he was devastated because they had taken our dad away. We still don’t know anything about my dad. He isn’t showing up in the system, and we have no updates about him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are trying to take legal action against Border Patrol and to do everything possible to bring my dad home, but we need financial support for attorney fees. Please help us anything truly helps. If you can’t donate, please help us by sharing our story.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you all so much for your support.
</div>
<div>May God bless you all.
</div>
<div>——————————————————————————
</div>
<div>Hola a todos,
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div>Que Dios los bendiga.

With your contribution the sale of this community asset, turned problem property can operate under a structure that empowers the people who have kept this Exxon Gas Station and convenience store in business. <br /><br /><br /><strong>TEAM</strong><br />Xpensive Justice llc is collaborating with Project Community Capital® (PCC) and the ATLiance Group to purchase, improve, and select an operator for the Exxon Gas Station located in East Atlanta.  The culturally conscious civic venture will create a community equity and ownership model to reintroduce the Gas Station to the community. <br /><br /><br /><strong>BACKGROUND</strong><br /><br />There have been numerous accounts from long-time residents and community members detailing DESPICABLE behavior by the staff and owner of the Exxon store. There is now a viral video of the store clerk boldly stating, “I don’t give a f*&amp;k about the black neighborhood!”. Shortly after the video surfaced, a long–time resident known as Scapegoat Jones in the community was told to “Get the f*&amp;k out of here you food stamp cockroach” by the owner. This prompted Jones, along with other members of the community, to initiate a boycott of this location.<br /><br />While boycotting, the group was approached by SEVERAL people from the area who were eager to share their stories of abuse while shopping at this EXXON store. The outrageous stories included accounts of homeless people who had buckets of water thrown on them in freezing cold weather, COUNTLESS elderly women being called “black bit*#es”, and numerous accounts of racist and disparaging remarks from the ownership group.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />There is good news. After 66 days of boycotting nonstop, even in the rain and freezing temperatures, the owner has agreed to sell the store and leave the neighborhood! That’s a VICTORY!  Salute to the community members for coming together to demand respect, human conditions and a standard of service they deserve! This is a historic moment! As we congratulate these citizens for their diligence, Let us unite in support and make this store BLACK OWNED! <br /><br /><br />Your contribution will accelerate the purchase of the gas station, support future improvements to the facility, and assist with legal fees needed to properly structure this groundbreaking model to include community ownership. If we aren’t able to reach our entire goal, the donations will go towards continued community engagement efforts and exploring the possibility of starting an online C-store/ delivery convenience model. The funds will be deposited in the Xpensive Justice business account and funds will be managed by myself, Brian Page. <br /><br /><br />The team’s goal for this project is to create Economic Empowerment and Community Equity through employment, asset ownership, business creation and contracting opportunities at this Exxon Gas Station. For those who may not know... Dramerius Jeffries, DQJ (@officialdqj), was arrested (he has been released) and falsely charged with multiple serious offenses. He attended a peaceful protest that took a turn he did not expect. He attended the protest to stand up for what he believed in and nothing more.  Since then he has received all types of backlash and threats. In effort to keep his family safe they had to relocate.<br /><br />This GoFundMe was created to help support him and his family with all his legal fees. I, Anttania, am the mother of Dramerius’ 6 month old. I want to personally say a donation of any amount is appreciated and thank you a million times. #BlackLivesMatter

The community has been reaching out in support of Bree’s family and wanting to donate to the cause. First off, we are SO THANKFUL for EVERYONE standing up for justice and saying her name! We’re not stopping until we truly get justice! All of you are such a blessing! It’s amazing! <br /><br />Second of all, we are thankful for the offers for donations. My sister and niece are too proud to say it, but this is a tough fight and it does take a toll. They’re both hard workers and they’re missing out on some work (and sleep!) in this fight for justice.<br /><br />We do not expect anyone to donate to this cause; your voices are being heard and that alone is so powerful! But because of all the calls and the overwhelming generosity, I have set up this account for them. <br /><br />You all are a blessing. Thank you so much again for everything! And let’s keep this fight for justice going! <br /><br />#justiceforbre
