Education Changes Everything Imagine a child with big dreams, full of curiosity and potential, but unable to step into a classroom because they have no family, or their family can't afford even the basic registration fee or a single exercise book. In Buwofu Village, Eastern Uganda, this is the harsh reality for the many orphaned and vulnerable children who have lost parents to illness, poverty, or hardship and remain in a form of non-government supported community guardianship. I'm partnering with the Tenderhearts Children Initiative, a dedicated registered non-profit organization working tirelessly to care for these children. With your help, we can remove the biggest barrier to their success: access to education. Our goal is to fund school registration fees, supplies, and essentials for as many children as possible across all grade levels – from Primary 1 through Secondary – so they can attend school consistently, learn, grow, and break the cycle of poverty. Every child deserves an education. Here's what your donation will directly cover (estimated costs based on local rural Uganda needs; 100% goes to Tenderhearts for transparent use): Primary Level (P1–P7, approx. 70 children) Registration/enrollment + basic supplies (exercise books, pens, pencils, uniform basics): $80–$120 per child per year Secondary Level (S1–S6/O & A-level, approx. 30+ children) Registration + supplies + possible exam/contribution fees (textbooks, materials, uniforms): $250–$450 per child per year Additional Shared Needs (for all children): Extra supplies packs (backpacks, math sets, etc.): $10–$20 per child Every dollar makes a difference: $50 supplies books and registration for a primary child; $300 opens the door to a full year of secondary boarding school for one teen. Tenderhearts is on the ground in Buwofu, building trust with the community and ensuring funds reach the children directly. Updates will include photos (with privacy respected), and stories of impact. Your support isn't just paying fees – it's giving hope, knowledge, and a future. Together, we can ensure these children aren't left behind. Donate today. Share this campaign. Change a life. Trusted Partnership & Transparency Tenderheart Children’s Initiative is officially registered, and we are committed to full transparency on all funds and purchases. It is a joy to work with Joshua and to provide full transparency on all transactions. The funds raised here are delivered directly to Joshua, who coordinates purchasing and delivery of materials and resources on site in Buwofu. We are currently working to register Tenderheart Children’s Initiative with the NGO Board in Uganda. This process can be slow, especially for those living in rural areas. Our primary focus remains on resource delivery while we navigate the registration process. You can follow Joshua and his work on instagram - https://www.instagram.com/joshuambogoli/ Together, Let’s Build Hope & Growth for Buwofu’s Children With your generosity, we can create a space that nourishes bodies, nurtures minds, and grows community — giving these children a foundation of love, learning, and sustainability. Thank you for your kindness, your care, and your belief in their future. With gratitude, Becka - On behalf of Tenderhearts Children Initiative team
Help Dream Builders Malawi Provide Education, Nourishment, and Hope for Vulnerable Children in Malawi Dreambuilders Malawi is a beacon of hope for children in our community who face overwhelming hardship. As a registered nonprofit nursery school, we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing these young souls with education, nourishment, and care. Currently, our school has three classrooms—but only one contains a mat. The others remain empty, waiting for the children who deserve a safe and inspiring place to learn. Our team, led by Executive Director Given and Director Yamikani, is deeply committed to supporting these children, many of whom are orphans. Why We Care It breaks our hearts to witness young children suffer and risk being trapped in the endless cycle of poverty. At Dream Builders, these children find not just education, but a community that loves and supports them. Many arrive hungry, and thanks to your help, they leave nourished—receiving porridge and water in the morning, and a healthy lunch of nsima, rice, pasta, beans, meat, eggs, Irish potatoes, vegetables, and fruits. Where Your Donations Will Go Rent: Keeping the school open and safe for the children. Teacher Support: Each teacher receives a modest salary (K150,000), but we need to sustain and increase this support. Food Program: Ensuring every child receives two nutritious meals daily. School Supplies: Providing essential learning tools and a comfortable environment for the children. Your generosity will directly empower Dream Builders Malawi to grow and continue its vital mission, overseen with care by Given Zulu locally to ensure every kwacha is spent wisely and transparently. Dear friends, supporters, and kind-hearted strangers, Many of you have already joined in championing Joshua Mbogoli, the dedicated 23 year old founder of Tenderhearts Children Initiative in Buwofu, Uganda, as he empowers and supports the orphaned children in his community As a former orphan himself—abandoned as a small child and left to survive all alone, Joshua has turned his pain into purpose. Instead of letting his past define him, he’s tirelessly worked to provide shelter, education, food, and love to the orphaned and marginalized children in his rural community. His vision is to build a learning hub and community care space where these kids can thrive, empowered by access to learning, nutritious food and mentorship. But right now, Joshua needs our help more than ever after a devastating accident. (This photo is of Joshua the first day he was in the Rural Referral Hospital in Bugiri, with very limited resources) The Incident and His Journey So Far: December 21 2025, an oncoming drunk driver pushed Joshua's motorbike from the road. The crash resulted in a head injury, muscle damage to his right arm and leg, and rapidly worsening hearing loss. He survived two nights in agony at a local referral hospital, but his condition quickly became critical. He was transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Kampala, where the medical team acted swiftly, conducting a series of tests and placing him in a medically induced coma to allow his brain to heal. For three days, he was under close care in this state, giving his body the rest it desperately needed. He slowly emerged from the coma and began to recovery his strength. Due to the cost of being in a private hospital (which was the only way to receive the life saving care needed) he quickly learned the skills needed to care for himself through recovering and once he could walk with a brace and crutch he was released to home. Thanks to the generous support of this community - Joshua receievd everything he needed to make a ful physicsl recovery as of 2 months since the accident. However, full mental recovery is taking a little longer - this includes endurance to process a lot of logical information, tolerance of sensory stimulation, and some other cognitive/memory processing. Spiritual and trauma recovery - is ongoing (big hugs) Positive Progress: Joshua is so determined to be of service with his life - he will not be lounging around in recovery that is for sure. The hope that we have offered him so far has encouraged him to keep saying yes to a positive mindset and surrender to the needs of his recovery. He has people who love him in the community, who will help him to gather what he needs and check in on him. And his international family (Me and you!) can bring the financial means for him to receive what he needs to step into his full power again. Ongoing Needs and How You Can Help: Joshua has no family or safety net just the community he’s built through determination and faith. Which includes us! He will not be able to work his motorcycle courier job for months to come, leaving him with no monthly income. The goal of our efforts are to support Joshua's basic living needs, so he may continue to pour his efforts into building the Tenderhearts Children Initiative and a sustainable future for himself and the children of the community. Your donations will directly cover: • A bicycle and wagon for him to make deliveries, to create some income etc. • Nutritious meals and hydration supplies to fuel his healing. • Housing / rent / access to the internet Every contribution, no matter the size, Helps us to lift Joshua so he can keep doing his work for the children in his village. We’ve raised $1000 so far, when we reach $5,555 CAD (or more) we will empower and encourage Joshua with a full year to recover and commit to developing the Tenderhearts Children Initiative and his own future. Let’s rally together to show Joshua the same love he’s given to so many. If you’d like to learn more about Joshua’s inspiring work, check out his Instagram Joshua's Instagram. I have also included a few videos below about the Tenderhearts mission. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. Together, we can help Joshua heal and keep his mission alive. Share this campaign widely—your network could make all the difference! It has been a joy to support Joshua’s prayer of supporting the homeless and orphaned children in the rural community of Buwofu Uganda. I have witnessed first hand the blessings the smallest of donations can bring to the children of Joshua.
