Brian is raising this fundraiser for his father, a retired Vietnam veteran who has been battling cancer for years. He is going through chemotherapy treatments every other week while also facing serious financial hardship. On top of the physical and emotional toll of cancer, he has been dealing with ongoing issues involving his pension from his former workplace and the VA. He is a beloved member of his community, known as a generous and caring person who is always there when someone needs help. As a father of three and grandfather of five, he means so much to the people who love him.

Dj's Fight against Brain Cancer

Katie is beginning an unexpected journey after being diagnosed with cancer. This diagnosis has been a shock to all of us, and as she begins treatment, she faces not only the physical and emotional challenges of healing but also the financial burden that comes with time away from work. Katie has always been someone who brings positivity and kindness to those around her, and now she needs our support more than ever.

 Katie has always had a deep love for animals. Her career and life’s work revolves around caring for and advocating for the wellbeing of animals in farm production and in research. Her passion extends from the smallest of critters to the largest of livestock, with cattle in particular holding a special place in her heart. Katie’s dedication to animals is matched by her compassion for people, and she hopes to use her skills and experience to help both animals and their caretakers in the future.

 Her initial diagnosis gave us hope. Doctors believed she would only need a lumpectomy followed by radiation treatments. However, just weeks later, everything changed. The cancer has proven to be far more aggressive than expected, and with less than a week's notice, she is now facing an urgent mastectomy. Depending on what surgeons find, she may also require reconstructive surgery, followed by months of chemotherapy and a long road to recovery.

 As if the emotional and physical toll wasn't enough, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Insurance is not covering all of the medical expenses, and Catarina has already been unable to work. She will be off work for several months as she undergoes treatment and focuses on healing.

Hope and Healing for Catarina's Cancer Battle

Lori Mahoney, Our good friend and colleague has been struggling with advanced thyroid cancer. It is inoperable. She has many medical bills and co-pays. Lori is an amazing, kind and giving person. She has been through so much in her life and is now facing this terrible illness. Please consider donating any amount to relieve the stress of day to day cost of living as well as medical bills. I was hoping we would not have an update like this... but Lori needs our help now more than ever Lori miraculously was able to return to work this year. She put her heart and soul and all her energy into her classroom and her students during this unprecedented time. Unfortunately, Lori has been forced to retire because the cancer has metastasized. She will need treatment again. Her retirement application takes four months to process so she will not get paid until then. She  had to retire early so she will  not be receiving her full retirement or even close to it. If we can all rally together and support Lori at this time it would be greatly appreciated.
