 I am creating this fundraiser for my aunt, Marie Tyrrell, who has faced one health challenge after another. Since the winter of 2025, Marie has endured multiple hospitalizations that have taken a serious toll on both her health and her finances. It began when she was admitted to the hospital and needed surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. She was then hospitalized for several days in the summer of 2025. In the fall of 2025, she required another surgery, missing three weeks of work. In June of 2026, Marie was admitted to the hospital with MRSA, and during that stay she learned she would also need iron infusions. Most recently, on August 14th, Marie was admitted to the hospital with another infection, Klebsiella Pneumoniae. With each hospital stay, Marie has missed more time from work and fallen further behind.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 These ongoing medical issues have created a heavy financial burden for Marie and have made everyday life much harder to manage. Support from this fundraiser will help cover her medical bills as well as everyday essentials like rent, car payments, insurance, and groceries so she can focus on healing without the constant fear of falling further behind.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 I am asking friends, family, and the community to come together for Marie during this difficult time. Any support helps. Whether it is a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser, your kindness would mean so much to Marie. Thank you for showing up for Marie with compassion, encouragement, and support during this difficult time.

 Hi, it’s hard for me to do this because I’m always the one that’s giving but I have to bring myself to say I really could use some help right now five weeks ago. I ended up having to leave my job early and going to the ER. They did a CAT scan and told me I had a hematoma in my skull come to find out it was from a blood vessel that broke on the membrane between my skull and my brain I applied for temporary disability five weeks ago and I’ve sourced all my funds that I’ve had in the bank and I would like to be able to pay my bills plus hospital bills that are coming in so I’m reaching out to everyone out there if they could help me in any way shape or form, I would appreciate it very much because the doctors are saying that they may not be back to work until December of this year, but once temporary disability comes in then I will be OK but they’re saying I still have another couple of weeks and I can’t afford my bills that I have to pay as I said, if anybody can help in any way shape or form, I would appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you everyone sincerely Greg.

<div>
 My name is Salina, and I’m here to ask our wonderful community to come together to support a close friend of mine and her fiancé. This situation is a bit unorthodox, because they have asked to stay anonymous. For the purposes of this fundraiser, I will be referring to my friend as K and her fiancé as S.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 In November of 2024, S was diagnosed with aggressive Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma and Follicular Lymphoma. He underwent multiple chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays. It was a long 6 months, but in April of 2025, S received the news that he was in remission!
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Unfortunately, in December of 2025, S suffered a seizure in the middle of the night and was rushed via ambulance to the ED, where they discovered the cancer they thought to be gone had spread and was now stage 4 cancer in his brain.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Chemotherapy began again. Over the next few months, S would be admitted for week-long hospital stays to receive treatment. K, S, and his oncology team decided that T cell therapy would be the best course of action going forward. However, the newest scans said otherwise; the cancer had spread aggressively. 5 rounds of radiation were performed before T cell therapy could even begin. In April of 2026, S was finally cleared to begin T cell therapy. During this treatment, S was admitted into the hospital for 2 weeks to monitor for risks of severe complications. This was followed by a month of daily appointments, 7 days a week.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Despite periods of positive response to treatment, complications have arisen and the disease continues to progress at a rapid rate. Over the past 8 months especially, S’s condition has required round-the-clock care. K is his sole caregiver at this time and has not been able to work. S is currently admitted to the ICU at Dartmouth, with no discharge date.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Savings and the occasional helping hand from family can only go so far. K is a nurse and cares so deeply for other people. She’s the kind of person that would literally give you the shirt off her back, watch your kids in the middle of the night, drive hours away to pick you up at the drop of a hat. All of it. Please help me help her while she navigates the most difficult season of her life. Watching your spouse slowly disappear and become only a small piece of who they once were is pain no one should have to bear. If we can help her financially, even a little bit, for gas money back and forth to the hospital, or a single mortgage payment, we are doing so much.

<div>
 Robert and Dolores Flack, my parents, have always been the heart of their community. Throughout their lives, they have given generously to others, offering help whenever someone was in need. Their kindness, support, and love have touched so many people, and now they are facing a challenge that no one should have to endure alone.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Recently, Robert and Dolores became victims of an online scam that took all of their savings.</strong> As elderly individuals living on a fixed income through Social Security, this loss has left them struggling to cover basic necessities. The funds raised here will go directly toward their rent, groceries, daily living expenses, and gas for trips to my mom's doctor's appointments for her Parkinson's disease. Your support will help them regain stability and peace of mind during this difficult time.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 I am reaching out because my parents have always been there for others, and now they need help themselves. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for considering a donation and for supporting Robert and Dolores as they work to recover from this hardship.

We are heartbroken to share that Joseph Montana Lamphere, 37, passed away following years of chronic illness that took so much from him. Named after a true football legend, Joe held on with impressive strength and grit. His caring spirit remained present until the very end; he was most concerned about his children and parents. Joe was a father, brother, son, cousin, nephew, and friend. His empathy was legendary, and his sense of humor refused to quit. Even in moments of pain, he could make people laugh, and we loved him for it.
<br>
<br>
 Joe grew up in Sudbury, Vermont, just a mile from Burr Pond, where as a child he could be found swimming, building sand castles, and most likely fishing. He was a happy child whose laughter was contagious. He graduated from Otter Valley Union High School and later the New England Culinary Institute, with an apprenticeship at the Cliff House in Ogunquit, Maine. He was a talented chef and most recently enjoyed working as a landscaper. Joe cherished connection, family, friendship, music, and nature. He had a profound thoughtfulness that led him to question the world around him and search for deeper meaning. As a father, he adored his children, Ava Kay (11 years old) and Oliver Lamphere (8 years old). Even when he wasn't able to be with them, they were always on his mind.
<br>
<br>
 Joe’s passing has left a void in our family, but we are determined to honor his legacy by supporting his children, Ava and Oliver. Our hope is to help them in ways Joe would have wanted—by providing for their education, a first home, or other important milestones. Funds raised will be placed in UGMA investment accounts for Ava and Oliver, to be accessed when they turn 21. This will give them a strong foundation for their futures, just as Joe dreamed. Any contribution, big or small, will help Ava and Oliver build the futures their dad wanted for them. Your support means the world to our family, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness.

<div>How to sum up Brendan McNamara... generous, giving, kind... he would literally give you the shirt off his back. He's a devoted family man, loyal friend, and funny. Brendan makes everyone laugh! To know Brendan is to love him! A little over two weeks ago he received a cancer diagnosis. The last few weeks have been challenging while waiting and receiving a diagnosis no family wants to hear. Brendan's family is an important, well-loved, and well-respected part of our surrounding communities and beyond. Brendan has given much of his life to serving others whether coaching, umpiring, being a town manager, a member of the Proctorsville Fire Department. When someone is in need of help, Brendan is one of the first to respond. Even in the midst of his recent diagnosis, you will see him at fire calls helping others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Many people are asking how to help which is not a surprise given all he does for others. His diagnosis of urachal adenocarcinoma has already required a large copay, several trips to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and trips to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. When a family faces cancer it is overwhelming to everyone and unfortunately brings on financial strain that is unexpected.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Money raised here will go directly toward the costs that cancer brings to a family and allow Brendan to be out of work and spend time recovering without worry. It will help pay for cancer costs in the future as well as costs associated with being in Boston as well as traveling to and from Dartmouth. Currently, Brendan is meeting with surgeons at Dartmouth and Dana-Farber to get ready for surgery to remove the tumor. He has had a number of scans which currently look clear and a PET scan will be happening soon as well.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Urachal adenocarcinoma occurs in one in one million people which makes Brendan even more special than he already was! Brendan and his family have a village which has already provided support as he begins to navigate the next steps. As Brendan continues to kick cancer's ass, we will provide updates and other ways to help here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being part of Brendan's village! If you would prefer to donate another way, you can mail a check to Brendan and Miranda McNamara at PO Box, 144 Cavendish, VT, 05142 or drop a donation off at the Proctorsville Fire Department on Tuesday nights.

Lily, Carter, and Fisher have been working on their technical steam challenge and performance since this past fall with Amy and Wendi at the library. DI - the team-building, student-led science and arts challenge program- encourages students’ creativity and problem solving skills. The three have been invited to attend the national competition (“Global Finals”) at the end of May in Kansas City Mo. They are excited to share about their tournament experience and to fundraise to try to attend the national competition.

<div>Recently, my twin sister Nancy McNally was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Nancy has poured her heart and soul into our foundation she started while having chemo after her first diagnosis, filling and sending baskets to people going through treatment all over New England and beyond. She organizes gift baskets to thank staff at a Children’s Hospital and is currently working to collaborate with child life specialists to get items to kids at the hospital. She is constantly coming up with ways she can help people who are battling illness.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>And now, <strong>Nancy (who is determined to keep helping people throughout her struggle) is in the fight of her life.</strong> She will not ask for help, but as her sister, I cannot lose her. With the limited treatment options, we are putting our faith and hope in both conventional and holistic treatment. This is why I am setting up this GoFundMe to help her with all the expenses that come with fighting this awful disease.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>She will continue to document her journey to give hope to other Stage Four survivors!

<div>Thank you to everyone for your continued love and support!!

Westminster: How it Changed School Segregation and Civil Rights for Children of Mexican Descent."</strong> Aitana qualified to go to Nationals in June!!! We are so very proud of how hard she worked. Aitana is a voracious reader, plays the alto saxophone, and is in middle school track at GMUHS. She is very excited to have this opportunity.

<div><strong>What is Vermont History Day?</strong>
</div>
<div>Every April, hundreds of Vermont students share their learning at the annual Vermont History Day state contest. Vermont students in grades 5 through 12 and homeschool students ages 10 to 18 can compete in Vermont History Day. With the guidance of teachers, students learn history by "doing history." At the state contest, students present their claims to local historians, educators, and other professionals who participate as judges. Students who place in the top two of their project category at the state contest qualify for National History Day in June held at University of Maryland College Park.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vermont History Day is in affiliation with the National History Day (NHD) program. NHD is committed to encouraging students to think innovatively with history education. Vermont History Day students in grades 5-12 can create a paper, website, documentary, performance, or exhibit on a topic of their choice. Students may examine a topic in state, national, or international history; however, students must relate their topic back to NHD’s annual theme: Rights and Responsibilities in History. Students will examine the intersections between these two powerful forces throughout history.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We are asking for the community's help in donations to be able to send Aitana, her teacher, and one parent to Nationals with her in June.</strong> This will cover expenses like transportation, room, and board. Anything helps. If you would like to contribute and be a part of this educational adventure for Aitana, we will be forever grateful.

<div>On Sunday morning our uncle Charles Wright of Chester, VT lost his house and everything in it due to a fire. Luckily, he and his three cats were unharmed, and he had some belongings in storage. But now he has to rebuild and does not have any homeowner's insurance. We are looking to raise some money to help with the cleanup and rebuilding of his home. Charles is currently living with us and our family, and his immediate needs are taken care of. He is a quiet guy who keeps to himself. Anyone who knows Charles knows he's very caring and helpful but isn't one to ask for help himself. The biggest challenge will be the cleanup and rebuild, and any donation would help!

Help Charles Wright rebuild after house fire

<div>Hi, and welcome to my page! For those who don’t know me or my story, let me introduce myself. My name is Mike Schwarz and I am 35 years old. In my early 20’s I was living the dream. I was a student at University of Vermont, interning at Essa Socks Co. as a graphic designer, and snowboarding all over the country. That all changed in March 2009, when I sustained a traumatic brain injury at a snowboard competition. I was given a 20%  chance of survival and my family was told to say their goodbyes. I was on life support for 3 weeks and in a coma. I was moved to a rehab facility in NH for a year. I continued to be in a coma for about 3 months. I had to learn how to do everything all over again, and I would not be here without the love and support of my family and friends.<br /><br />My vision, balance, memory, speech, and motor functions continue to affect my daily life, and unfortunately, I am unable to live independently. I currently live with my parents and have a Life Skills Aide who works with me 5 days a week. With their support, and through speech, physical, pool, and cognitive therapies, I am able to complete the tasks of daily living and enjoy physical activities safely and semi-independently. My life has completely changed and I am unable to do many things I once loved, but I have found joy in sharing my story. Over these past 10 years <br />I have given presentations about the importance of helmets in Vermont schools. It gives me a sense of purpose and that my TBI was not in vain.<br /><br />I want to continue to share my story, gain more independence, and ultimately live in my own home. Living with my parents has been awesome, but they are aging, and providing me with care is getting increasingly more difficult. I have to set a goal to purchase a home by the end of 2022, which would house me and my caregiver. It is very difficult for young people whom have sustained an injury such as a TBI to find adequate housing and care and I want this to be a home that will help others like me in future years. Forever Home for Mike Schwarz

<div>Many of you know Robert Williams, Senior, and many of you also know that he had a large tumor removed from his brain in September 2022. Fast forward to Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was brought to Dartmouth where he found out that he will need another surgery on his brain January 17, 2024. Both Robert and my mom (Arlene) will be unable to work during this time for recovery and appointments as this will be a long recovery. They will need as much help as they can get. Even a share, or a prayer would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to him and Arlene to help pay for bills (medical and otherwise).

<div>On January 7th the Harrington family suffered an unimaginable loss. Randall, father, husband, son, and brother died in a tragic farming accident while working on his family farm at only 52 years old. Randy's father had just passed away a month earlier on December 6th.
</div>
<div>January 7th was a very special day to Randall as it was his 18 year wedding anniversary. It was also the same day that he met the love of his life, Natalia 20 years ago.
</div>
<div>Randy was the sole income provider for his family. With all of the family working together on the farm, Randy was able to continue doing what he loved. Now, not only is his family consumed with grief, they are faced with how to manage financially.
</div>
<div>We are asking for help to cover funeral costs, upcoming mortgage payments, groceries, and everyday living expenses.
</div>
<div>Being a farmer, Randall was always there, helping others in their time of need. He wasn't one to ask for help. We believe, now, he would be extremely grateful for any donations to support his family during this time of crisis.
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of all of the Harrington's hearts for helping Natalia and their children.

<div>Intro by Jenna Richards: On July 10 2023, the town of Proctorsville and surrounding areas, endured catastrophic flooding. They are now facing another round of flooding. Amy Perry and her family lost everything in their basement, and her entire shop &amp; business: The Happy Hound Salon. As volunteer firefighters, they concentrated all their energy working to help their community and left their house and business to the flood.
</div>
<div>Amy has been grooming for 20 years, and runs a small family groomery that specializes in one-on-one grooming for dogs that cannot be groomed in other enviroments. She is a fantastic groomer (and a dear friend) who is loved by her clients, with fur and without. It's not every groomer who's furry clients can't get out of the car fast enough to get inside and see her.
</div>
<div>Her shop is a total loss except for the frame and roof, and grooming table and the tub. Floor, walls, sheetrock, tools and equipment all need to be replaced. They did not have flood insurance because it was not a requirement, they are in a 100-year flood zone.
</div>
<div>Please donate or share to help them out. I've never met a more deserving family, and every day they are closed her furry clients are going without. My baby, Sage, loves her so much. If there is anything you can donate, or even if you just share everywhere you can, every gesture helps! Donations can also be sent to Perry Family C/O PROCTORSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT PO BOX 81. </div>
<div>At the advice of friends, and since I have had so many wonderful friends and clients ask how they can help, I'm starting this go fund me so anyone who wants to help can easily donate so we can rebuild.
</div>
<div>This storm flooded my dog grooming shop and it will have to be gutted and rebuilt. On my birthday, no less. I lost all my dryers, many tools, electrical, plumbing, hot water heater; walls, floor, insulation will all need to be replaced, shop vacuum. We're still not sure about structural stability at this time and may find the floor structure also needing replacement. Settling is a concern as the river was going right through it. Our insurance will not cover the flooding.
</div>
<div>I'll put up a more eloquent update later, but for now, as volunteer firefighters, we are busy helping others in our community as we have been since the storm began.
</div>
<div>Any help is so deeply, deeply appreciated, and we will be starting demolition this week if some strong backs want to help. Call the business line when phone service is restored or message us on facebook.

Help the Happy Hound & Perry Family Rebuild

<div>I am writing this with an extraordinarily heavy heart today.
</div>
<div>We have lost a dear friend, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and beloved member of our community.
</div>
<div>To know Mercedes was to know Mercedes. And if you knew her, you loved her. She was truly a one of a kind person.
</div>
<div>She has left behind her remarkable and wonderful children, who, in turn, now need our little village to rally around them through this unexpected and very difficult time.
</div>
<div>I understand that a private venmo has been started by a friend of Mercedes, but some people have expressed concern for donating privately through that account.
</div>
<div>Please, anything helps....and we need all the help we can get for these kids.
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your generous support and love ❤️

Let's be the Village for the Kubiseks

On March 21st my father, Bob Spallone, started out with severe leg pain and numbness. After running several tests they found 3 aneurysms in his abdomen and groin and he was transported to MUSC that night for emergency surgery. After 2 more emergency surgeries, he ended up in the ICU, critically ill, hooked up to life-saving machines. He is now battling to save both of his legs, kidneys and life. We are still unsure of the prognoses at this time and must remain in Charleston by his side for an indefinite amount of time. This has caused a tremendous and traumatic emotional and financial burden to our family. We are extremely grateful for the love and support you have shown us. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, well wishes and any support you can provide.

<div>To know the Robinsons is to understand the true meaning of family. Tom, Alison and Hannah are a beautiful family and a delight to all they meet along their way. If you are lucky enough to know them, you know how much they care for everyone around them.
</div>
<div>Recently Tom has taken ill and has had multiple stays in the hospital. Due to these medical setbacks, Tom has had to miss several weeks from work. He's fighting the good fight but has a long road to recovery. Our hope is to take some financial pressure off the Robinson family so that Alison and Hannah can focus on Tom's recovery and so that Tom can rest without worry.
</div>
<div>No one has ever escaped troubled water, rough seas or challenging scary days. There are times in our lives when we could use a little help and other times when we are given a chance to be that help for someone else. We are stronger together.
</div>
<div>Thank you

In Memory of Willie Kennedy

<div>As many may already know, we are a small Humane Society in Vermont with a BIG heart! We strive to help those who walk through our door with open arms and try to assist other states with over population issues when we have the means to do so! Many years ago, the "Princess Fund" was set up to help animals who enter our facility with "Above and Beyond" medical needs. It all started with Princess, a gorgeous black kitty who came into the shelter in need of a leg amputation! To this day, Princess is still much loved by her Mom and her fund has helped countless animals to be able to experience the joys of family, who may not have otherwise been able to be helped if it weren't for the kindness of donors! Recently, the "Princess Fund" has been dwindling and we are finding it hard to be able to afford the medical needs of these special animals who need us most. We are asking you, our friends, for your support! All donations will go directly to the "Princess Fund" to help these lost souls in need of special medical attention. Below are some stories of animals that have benefited from this fund and those who are still depending on it, giving them a chance at the best life possible!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here are some animals who you could be helping NOW:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Meet Gidget:
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/59828057_1631123659133654_r." width="100%" />
<div>Gidget came from Georgia recently and is need of a lump removal (not pictured) that is hanging low between her front legs. It is unknown at this time if this is cancerous or benign. The cost to find this out is high. Gidget was in danger of euthanasia in this Georgia shelter, as there are overpopulation issues in that area. Of course we could not say no to this gorgeous gal who needed us!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Meet Gunther:
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/59828057_1631123892814894_r." width="100%" />
<div>Gunther was a local stray who came to us when found wandering the road recently. Nobody came forward for this sweet, senior gentleman, who clearly needed a lot of medical attention. Gunther has a lump, similar to Gidget's, that hangs from his chin. It is unknown if this is cancerous or not at this time. Gunther also has double eye infections, a terrible skin infection, a double ear infection and needs medicated baths regularly. To make matters worse, he will likely need a dental, as some of his teeth have already fallen out on their own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here are some animals who have been helped and saved because of the Princess Fund:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Meet Sophie:
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/59828057_1631124238395885_r." width="100%" />
<div>Sophie came to us as a stray, locally, with this obvious abscess, shown above. After an owner was located and could not afford medical bills, we gained ownership after a stray hold was completed. Sophie had to undergo surgery for her abscess and have several medications to help with infection. A couple days after surgery, we had to have the wonderful veterinary staff at Claremont Animal Hospital do an emergency "farm call" on a weekend, as Sophie's face had swelled so badly that it needed medical attention. Sophie has fully recovered and was adopted by her new family. She is VERY loved and spoiled, just how she should be, ALL thanks to the "Princess Fund!"
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Meet Connor:
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/59828057_1631124755627656_r." width="100%" />
<div>Connor came to the shelter as a stray kitty locally. He was extremely shy, as you can see in this photo! It took the staff 4 months to get him friendly enough to be handled and trust people again. Connor then developed Stomatitis, a medical condition where he is essentially allergic to his teeth, needing several surgeries to remove them over the course of his life. Being an 8 year old kitty, who is extremely shy, we knew that this would set him back and make it hard to find an adopter able to take on his medical needs. BUT- we knew that we HAD to try! Connor went to see our vet at Eastwood Animal Clinic in Rutland to have his first round of teeth removed, after being on medication for two weeks prior to surgery. After surgery, Connor was on medication for another two weeks, to prevent infection. Connor will need teeth removed yearly for this condition, having medications before and after each time. Given that Connor fell for one of our staff members, who worked with him most often, she did decide to adopt him. Connor, thanks to the "Princess Fund" is doing GREAT in his new home! See his most recent photo enjoying his bed!

<div>If these stories did not warm your heart, we hope that this story does!

<div>Our friends in the southern states have LOADS of dogs that are in danger of euthanasia due to being Heartworm positive. We hear ALL the time from all our partners in the south that we are one of the only places that will transport Heartworm positive dogs to their facility. The treatments for this can get costly and adopters can be harder to find. Luckily, here in Vermont, we have a lot of families that have taken chances on these Heartworm positive pups! However, this treatment is costly and does take a lot of funds to cover all the parts of the treatment. Dogs who test Heartworm positive need specialty heartworm prevention, which costs more than other dogs that are negative. They also need two medications, Doxycycline (antibiotic) and Prednisone (steroid) daily for two months before they can start these treatments. Once the treatments start, there are three injections over the course of a couple months. We are lucky that we have had great luck finding homes for these dogs to be "foster to adopt", so that they do not have to be in the shelter for this rough and tough treatment. Once these dogs have completed their treatments, they are able to be adopted officially by their "foster to adopt" homes! The "Princess Fund" is the ONLY way our facility is able to afford to take dogs from the south that are positive for Heartworm. Otherwise, these wonderful dogs would likely be euthanized, with so few shelters and rescues willing to take them. WE ARE SO THANKFUL to be able to help them! Soon, though, our funds will be depleted and we will not be able to help these dogs that are in danger. This is why we are asking for your assistance! Here are some of the Heartworm positive dogs that have been through treatments or will be going through treatments that need YOUR help!

We are asking for your support for a community dance project located in Springfield, Vermont that aims to provide a unique performance and community-building opportunity for young adults and families in Windsor County. As the COVID pandemic began dancers left our studios and began meeting via Zoom, dancing in our bedrooms and living rooms. As the weather allowed, we masked up and met to move outside, taking advantage of Vermont’s ample space to play, connect, and make art together. As we were asked to stay in place, we celebrated our sense of place, finding meaning and connection in new ways.<br /><br />Just week’s before our world shut down, choreographer Ashley Hensel-Browning had the opportunity to see Vermont composer Evan Premo’s premiere of Thumbelina, an original musical setting of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of a tiny girl who goes on a big adventure performed by his ensemble Scrag Mountain Music. The concert immediately brought a vision of a new story ballet for families. Ashley will be working with a small team of designers and dancers to create a new contemporary ballet set to Evan’s beautiful score that will be performed for outdoor audiences in late June 2021. Our small cast will include high school students, recent high school and college graduates, and adult dancers. The production will be designed for families, with multiple small showings that allow for us to follow current COVID guidelines and will include a meaningful experience exploring contemporary classical music and dance through a beautiful story about connection during personal challenges. It will be a production to remember as well as inspire new dreamers and movers in their art-making adventures.<br /><br />This production moves beyond a performance, however, as we will also be holding a series of family dance classes that emphasize a deeper engagement with the performing arts as well as healthy ways to move and connect with each other during this trying time. This project has strong community support. We have a network of both adult and student volunteers who are working to bring the performances to life with costumes, sets, and a safe outdoor performing and teaching space. <br /><br />The arts have proven to life-giving during COVID and our hope is to help build the bridge of connection necessary to rebuild as we emerge from this pandemic. Thank you for considering supporting our ambitious project. Your support would mean the world to us.<br /><br />You can learn more about Evan's beautiful score here - <br /><a href="http://www.scragmountainmusic.org/thumbelina.html" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.scragmountainmusic.org/thumbelina.html</a>

Thumbelina - a Vermont-grown story ballet

On Thursday evening 3/11/21 I answered an emergency call that was anything but routine.  We arrived with our police and fire department to my long-time partner's apartment on fire.  While the firefighters made quick work of what could have been so much more of a disaster, we went to work on taking care of one of our own.<br /><br />Marissa has been my partner since she first came to our department 3 years ago, and I have had a hand in helping her develop her skills and become the EMT that she is today.  Somewhere along the way, our partnership turned into a friendship, to the point that I refer to her as "the little sister that I didn't want."  Marissa and I have seen some of the worst of humanity together and she has always been willing to help everyone, now it's our turn to help her.<br /><br />This disaster struck her in the middle of a pandemic that has wreaked financial havoc on all of us.  The goal of this fundraiser is to help her put together a security deposit and furnishings for a new apartment.  <br /><br />Any kind of help, financial or even just sharing, is greatly appreciated.  Let's make this situation a little less stressful than it has to be!

<p>Jon Peters, long-time resident of Chester, Vt, and more recently of Charlotte, NC passed away on November 3, 2020.  Jon was a devoted community volunteer, high school teacher, track coach and avid outdoorsman.  Whether portraying Santa in community events, volunteering on the ambulance squad, or raising money for families suffering from medical hardship, Jon felt giving to his community was the highest calling.  Jon's greatest community achievement was being the inspiration, lead fund-raiser and advocate for the construction of the athletic track at Green Mountain Union High School in Chester, Vt.  It is in the spirit of this legacy that his family would like to create a memorial scholarship in his memory.
</p>

<p>The Jon M Peters Memorial Scholarship fund will provide funds for a community minded student-athlete at GMUHS to pursue higher education or a trade/vocational path after graduation.   The funds will be disbursed annually through the scholarship fund.
</p>

<p>Jon’s impact in his community, as a teacher, athletic coach, volunteer and devoted father has been immeasurable.  His family hopes his life’s work will continue to inspire youth for many years through this legacy scholarship opportunity.

Hi this is the Spaulding/Gonzalez family and we are starting this go fund me to help raise money for the Neyman family after the hard loss they went through. Angie Neyman passed away and left a huge hole in all of our hearts. We are hoping to raise some money to help with any medical costs, funeral costs, and food and necessities for the family, so that’s one less thing for them to worry about. Angie was an amazing strong women who loved her family so very much. Any amount of donation helps and send your prayers to this family as this is a very stressful time for them!

This event lead to a collision with a semi truck. Donny sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to Rutland Regional and soon after was airlifted to University of Vermont Medical Center trauma center.

</p>

<p>His wife, Robin became worried when he was late getting home from work. When he did not answer his phone she went out looking for him. She was met by the fire department who was at the scene. She and their three children met at the hospital and made the drive to Burlington.

</p>

<p>Donny was placed in a medically induced coma. He suffered from head contusions, internal bleeding, multiple bone fractures, and required a great deal of staples and stitches. Upon arrival to UVMC Donny was unresponsive. By Tuesday afternoon they were able to wake him up and he was breathing on his own. The trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedic, internal medicine, and intensive care teams Are taking great care of him and each day he is making gains. This will however be a long and difficult road for him.

</p>

<p>Due to COVID restrictions, he is only allowed one consistent visitor. His wife Robin has been at his side, and is his best advocate. Over the last year she has been his rock as he has faced  medical issues, several operations and hospital stays.

</p>

<p>As you can imagine, this unexpected situation has been hard for our entire family. We’ve had many people reach out to our family about his health and progress and requests to make donation to provide some extra support during this hard time. The go fund me platform allows for us to update his progress and have the option to donate if that is something people would like to do. All funds will go directly towards medical bills that insurance does not cover as well as transportation cost to and from Burlington.

</p>

<p><strong>Thank you for all of the continued love and support. </strong>

Support the Williams Family

For over 30 years Cavendish Town Elementary School has had a Snow Sports Program, run entirely by volunteers, that takes students in Grades kindergarten through 6th grade to Okemo to learn to ski and ride for 8 half days on Tuesdays.  The program receives no funds from the school or the town other than transportation to and from the mountain.  Okemo Mountain Ski Area, in Ludlow, VT, charges parents a discounted fee for their children's pass and rentals and  community donations cover lessons.<br /><br />This year, Okemo is under new management and has raised the fee for passes and rentals.  The increase is so significant that many families will not be able to pay the increased fees.<br /><br />The purpose of this campaign is to raise enough funds to offset a portion of the fees to make the program affordable for all families. We typically have about 75% of the student body participate in the program each year. We estimate a financial need of about $3000 this year to cover the total cost of the increased fees. We are hoping through multiple fundraisers, GoFundMe being just one fundraiser, to reach this goal.<br /><br />In the past, Okemo has allowed for families who qualify through the Federal Free and Reduced lunch program to pay on a sliding fee. Since the sale of Okemo, this is no longer an option. For one student to learn to ski/ride it is $35 for the pass, and $65 for the rentals for a total of $100 for the entire 8 weeks of the program. For families who have limited finances, this means that their son/daughter most likely would not participate in the program. We would like to raise enough money to cover scholarships to help out all of our families.<br /><br />100% of the funds raised through this campaign, minus the go fund me fees, will be used to help the students.  The program is run entirely by volunteers.<br /><br />I am  trying  to  raise  the  funds  by  January  11th,  2019.

SOS ~ Save Our Snow Sports Program

Hello,   My name is Drew Kauffman and I am a 15-year brain tumor  survivor and a very proud father of 2 little boys Finley and Sawyer. Unfortunately, I was-rediagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM). I am now undergoing bi-weekly infusions at Dartmouth Hitchock which means I get to go to the cancer center quite often and it has gotten too be too much of a financial burden after 15 years for me to bear. So, anything that is donated will be used to pay for my trips and any costs associated with going to get treatment.   In 2004, I was diagnosed with a GBM, which is the most aggressive cancer that begins within the brain. Never one to give up, I have undergone 7 craniotomies, five rounds of chemotherapy a clinical trial at Dana Farber and a blast of external beam radiation to try and kill the cancer over the years. The surgeries have twice left me paralyzed down my left side.. and my left hand (3 times) using my refusal to give up over the years, I have regained some limited use but its been a hell of a fight to get this far!  On July 4th, my family and I traveled to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  At DF, I started the  process of being accepted into clinical trials for what's proven to be extremely hard to treat stage 4 GBM brain cancer. Unfortunately, if I want to get the best possible trial match and provide myself with the most opportunities I can through the clinical trials at DF, I will  need to undergo a 7th surgery  to get new tissue samples that will allow the pathologists to the discover the exact mutation of my tumor cells.  Pending on the outcome of the new tumor sample test results there are currently  2 trials with a spot for me on them and several others that are possibilites but the one that holds the most promise to me o f them is  one using  a Targeted Immunotherapy  vaccinne  VBI-1901  is a vacinne that  is designed to stimulate my immune systems anti-tumor response and kick it into overdrive.  Participating in the trial would mean trips to Boston every 3 weeks for treatments and all follow-up tests and appointments for at least a year or longer depending on the tumors progression.  Getting through this is will be physically and emotionally  difficult to say the least.  With the financial part being the biggest issue right now because we don't have the funds to pay  for a few months worth of trips to Boston, let alone a year of trips that can easily add up to thousands of dollars. In the past, I have done my best to sell some of my photography to help cover the expenses involved with having had so many surgeries and follow-up treatments over the years however, that just wont work this time.  I have done my best to not set-up a Gofundme  account ...i just do not see any other way of making this work financially. Just to take the family to have the surguery is 3- 4 days of hotels and that will pretty  much wipe me out.  It is not possible for me to cover all the expenses involved with me taking bus trips to Boston for treatment every 3 weeks especially if I can not just hop on the bus and return home  each time. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. I have survived for 14 years now and have no intentions of give up now or missing my boys first days of school! I have absolutely no desire to miss any more than necessary and, with your help, I can still be around to see my kids off to school as much as possible by being able to afford the trips...without it I will be looking into ways to stay in Boston for my treatments and doing  everything there  while my family stays in Vermont and keeps as normal a routine as possible for the kids .  Thank you for your support during these difficult times!                                                *Drew

Paul and Judy Nevin, of Mount Holly, Vermont, just  <strong>lost everything</strong> when their home burned down on March 15. The fire was a result of the recent severe weather in the area with 60+ inches of snow, some of which plugged their chimney leading to a fire in the attic. The road conditions were so hazardous that the first fire trucks to arrive at the scene slid into a ditch, blocking the road, and prevented five other fire trucks that followed from getting close enough to the house, and so the fire burned unchecked, and with it, everything the Nevins owned. Thankfully they escaped unharmed, but they didn't have time to take even a winter jacket with them.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28462230_15213187360_r.jpeg" alt="28462230_15213187360_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28462230_15213187570_r.jpeg" alt="28462230_15213187570_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><br />The Nevins are long-time residents of the Town of Mount Holly, Vermont, where they have been generous and active members of their community. Paul served many years as a Town Selectman and they both worked for many years as beloved local teachers, touching and helping to shape the lives of hundreds of students. Judy was a third grade teacher in the Mount Holly grade school, and Paul initially taught at the Plymouth school, and later at the Springfield Junior High school.  They have always been a positive influence in the community, contributing time as chaperones at local school dances, and leading school ski trips, as well as being active members of local organizations, such as the Mount Holly Historical Society.  Their lives and generosity have touched many who live in and around Mount Holly, as well as those that visit Lake Ninevah from afar.  They have always been there to help others, from offering carpentry advice, to checking on a neighbors home on cold winter night, to towing a friend's car from a snowy ditch. <br /><br />Their fire insurance will not cover everything they need to put their lives back together.  They were not able to save even a cell phone or winter clothing. While generous neighbors have offered shelter for a while, they need clothing, housing, and help to start the rebuilding process. At an age when most folks would be enjoying retirement, Judy and Paul are starting over from square one. Please, let's all pitch in a little to help them in this difficult time.<br /><br /><br /><strong>PFAQs  (predicted frequently asked questions)</strong><br /><br /><strong>Who is the Organizer?</strong><br />I live in Somerville, MA, but my parents (Margaret and Sam Fogel) have had a home down the road from the Nevins for the last 50 years, and when I heard from my parents and Dave Venter about the fire, I offerred to set up the fund-raising campaing with my modest internet skills...<br /><br /><strong>Why use GoFundMe? And what happens to the money?</strong><br />GoFundMe seemed to be the best option for internet fund raising. They have no "platform" fee so all of the money, minus the internet credit card processing fee (2.9%), goes to the Nevins directly (by comparison, many other sites including Facebook itself, charge an additional 5-7% fee).  The money can be almost immediately withdrawn by the Nevins for use now as the campaing continues. I looked at all the other top sites for fund-raising, and this seemed to be the best, safest, and most well-established. I think the ease of use makes this worth while for coordinating the monetary help of a large group of friends/family/community members. <br /><br />Thanks Everyone!

Paul and Judy Nevin's Fire Fund

Today, March 3, life-long residents of Cavendish, Martha and Mitchell Benoit lost their garage and most of their home to a fire.  What started in the garage, quickly swept in to their home. They have lost everything.  Martha and Mitchell have been huge supporters of Cavendish Elementary School and of the town for many years.   They finally recovered from the damages of Tropical Storm Irene, and are now strapped with this.<br /><br />While Mitchell and Martha do have homeowner's insurance, we all know that this rarely covers what the family will need and takes a really long time to receive any sort of financial support. <br /><br />One of the reasons people live in a small community are in times like this community members can rally together and support each other in their darkest of hours.<br /><br />Donations from this fund will go directly to the family, and be accessible to them for things they need in the immediate future.<br /><br />Thank you for your generosity and for making a difference in our community.

Rally and Rebuild for the Benoits

On July 2nd the Rounds completely lost their home in a fire.  Thankfully, they were away in Maine for the weekend.   It is a complete loss.  While they are grateful no one was injured they did lose everything they owned.  Let's rally as a community and support them during this difficult time.

Support the Rounds

This could happen to you, this could happen to anyone. All it takes to lose your home is an injury to the breadwinner of the family. It happened to me and my family. We had it all in our eyes. We made enough money for bills to be paid and occasionally going out to dinner. That to us was enough and life was good. Shortly after welcoming our baby daughter into our lives my husband was hurt outside of work. After many doctor visits we found out the only way for him to get better was another back surgery , a spinal fusion. This news was the beginning of our extremely traumatic start. With my husband unable to walk or get around I had to quit my job to take care of our baby n two boys ages 12 and 11. He was the nighttime babysitter. We worked opposite shifts. Now he was unable to work awaiting a surgery and so wasn't I. Without an income in only took a small amount of time before we lost our home. All right before Christmas. We were lucky enough to be housed in a shelter for almost 3 months with a huge chance to get affordable housing during these months. Unfortunately we have run out of time in the shelter and have had no luck on ANY TYPE OF HOUSING. :( In 7 days we will be on the streets with no where to go. No family to take us in and no income to get an apartment. I have begged landlords to rent us a one bedroom until my husbands surgery is complete and he can work again. No landlord wants to rent a one bedroom to a family of 5. We have no other options at this moment. My husband was almost finished college when he was injured. He can't work his electrical job and had to postpone school until surgery is complete. Our catch 22 is that without stable housing his doctor won't do the surgery and without the surgery he cannot go back to work to earn the money to get the stable housing. I feel like this situation can happen to anyone. All it takes is an accident or a fall and you can quickly lose it all. I am asking all of my friends and their friends and their friends please donate if you can. Anything will help. Trying to keep my family all together under one roof and without help its going to be impossible. I am just trying to raise enough money to get into an apartment and pay as many months up front as possible. This way my husband can get his surgery, I can go back to work and my boys n daughter won't be split up from their family and taken from their school. Without an apartment my family will be split up and my husband will never get help with his back. He will never finish school and may never get back on track. My biggest fear is not being able to tuck my babies into bed every night because we are separated. I'm not ready to give up yet and am hopeful with your help I can bring my family back together. This is something that could happen to anyone. .....unfortunately it has happened to me. <br />God bless and thank you
