Brian has worked in the forests for half his life, as a wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service for 7 years, and lately as a helicopter rappeller out of Merlin, OR, serving as one of our initial attack resources for our southern Oregon forest fires. I say this merely to illuminate that he has spent many years being a service <em>provider</em> for the community and a now reluctant <em>receiver</em> when requesting support from others.

<div>On July 6, 2024, 36-year-old Sonya Massey was taken away from her family. Officers responded to Sonya’s 911 call for a prowler in her backyard, and shortly thereafter shot her in the face and killed her after she said, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus." In mere moments, Sonya’s family lost a mother, a daughter and sister.

<div>Sonya is remembered as caring and loving mother to her two children, a 17-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter. Sonya loved cooking, doing hair, nurturing her children, and spending time with her family. She was also a devoted church member.

<div>The outpouring of love and support has been tremendous, but our family needs financial support as we fight for justice. Our family will likely need mental health counseling and support, money for travel costs and money for household support as we miss work to pursue justice for Sonya Massey.

<div>First of all, I would like to say hello and thank you to anyone that's taken the time out of their lives to read this. It is vastly appreciated. My name is Larry, though most of you know me by my stage name <strong>Metasota</strong>. I uh... I've fought with myself for almost 3 months about doing this or not. I've asked people whose opinions I trust and value and the general consensus was to "put your pride aside and allow people to help you." So... here we go.

<div><strong>The purpose of this GoFundMe is to acquire a new laptop so I can get to work again.</strong> I've been without for almost 4 months and though I've tried to look at this time positively, it's been hell. As many of you know, I moved to Houston almost 5 years ago to become a full-time caregiver for my mother after she suffered a stroke. I packed up my life, everything I know, and left my son just as I was getting to know him in 8 days.

<div>I don't get paid or get any extra assistance, so this is every day. Making music was my therapy as well as my means of income. I haven't been able to do feature verses for artists or create/sell beats. Our lives were enriched by her pure love, creative spirit, bright personality, hilarious wit, contagious laugh, endless energy, and compassion for everyone she met. She will forever live in our hearts.  Chana was joined in heaven by her perfect, beautiful baby girl Georgia Lynn Wood. Funeral & Expenses for Adam Madsen's Family

Hello all, I am raising money to pay for Hercules' medical expenses. <br /><br />On December 16th, 2020 Hercules had a routine procedure to remove some teeth that were suffering from a pretty common dental disease that wasn't of much concern. During the procedure the doctor noticed a small lump on Hercules' tongue, she called and asked if I wanted to do a biopsy to see if it was cancerous. She was not under the impression it was, but instead thought it was just a sore from a combination of excessive licking and infected teeth. On December 22, 2020 I got a call from the same doctor that Hercules' biopsy had come back positive for cancer. He has what is called squamous cell carcinoma.T<br /><br />The prognosis does not look good... But the doctor is hopeful a specialist will be able to remove the tumor before it becomes more of a problem. There are a lot of issues that surround this type of cancers in cats that make it very difficult to treat. Surgery is essential our only choice. <br /><br />With all of that being said, given this year being one of the hardest financially for so many of us - I am out of money. I spent over $2,000 on his oral surgery to have teeth pulled, and have maxed out many of my other options to be able to pay for the surgery to have the tumor removed. I have no idea yet how much it will cost, so I am starting this fundraiser at $2,000 - but I am assuming it may be much more than that. Hercules has an appointment on January 8th, 2021 with a specialist at BluePearl Vet in Eden Prairie - it is then that I'll find out what our options are and how much it will cost to hopefully remove the tumor. <br /><br />As many of you may know, I love Hercules as if he were my flesh and blood. He is my confidant, my best friend, my familiar, my whole heart, he is my rock, I love him more than I love myself. He has gotten me through many dark periods of my life, that I don't believe I would have made it out alive had it not been for him. He is my baby boy, and has been since the moment I held him in my hands when he was a day old over ten years ago. Losing him would devastate beyond belief and I am hoping through your generosity I will be able to keep my baby boy here for as long as possible. <br /><br />If you are unable to donate, that is absolutely understandable - but then all I ask is that you share this on your social media accounts. Hercules Medical Expenses

My 1.5 year old orange tabby, Max, has unexpectedly took a turn for the worst. He stopped eating, stopped drinking, drastically lost weight in a short amount of time, and has become really lethargic. We took him to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital where a series of tests and X-rays were done and they found that he was anemic, had a fever of 105 (at 106 cats' organs start getting damaged), but they couldn't find the cause. FeLV/FIV/HW all came up negative. He was discharged after given fluids, antibiotics, and we were handed a $822.53 bill. 
The next morning I took him to a non-emergency vet for a follow up and more treatment. They could not find the cause, gave him fluids, and told us to continue monitoring his temperature and continue giving him his antibiotics. We were given a $80 bill.
A week later, after he seemed to be getting better fever-wise, he had another follow-up appointment. His anemia had gotten much worse. He was very dehydrated. They told me that if his anemia didn't get better, he would need a blood transfusion. They still do not know the cause, so they performed an addition complete blood cell count (CBC) and X-rays. They sent us home with an appetite pill and subcutaneous fluids (IV) to give to him at home. This bill was $477.93.
When the CBC came back the next day (today) they told us that his red blood cell count is 25% (and it's actually lower than that due to his dehydration) which means a blood transfusion may be necessary. Red blood cells help carry oxygen throughout the body. Because of his lack of RBC's, he is breathing at a faster rate than normal, he has zero energy and can barely move, his toepads and his gums are completely white instead of pink. He also may have an abcess on his lung, and he might have pneumonia. This is what might be the cause, but they don't know for a fact. I picked up 2 antibiotics, an additional appetite pill, and probiotics. This bill was $63.57.
If the antibiotics don't work, further testing will be needed (an ultrasound and a BLA). With the blood transfusion (which I'm pretty positive is going to happen when I'm off work tomorrow) we were quoted at $2,500.

He has an additional follow-up vet visit at our primary office on Monday at 4:40pm, which will be more money. This has been 100% out of pocket.
