I drive two hours one way and two hours back twice a month where I bring anywhere from 6 to 8 stray and feral cats to be spayed and neutered. And many times I come in contact with little bitty kittens who need bottle fed or emergency veterinarian care along with adult cats and younger cats who need medical care along with vaccinations, dewormers, and flea medications. I am in desperate need of help with their veterinarian care. I have no resources other than my community who I reach out to sometimes and get help from occasionally, but for the most part, I am funding this all on my own. I am a single person who has many bills and I just want to continue to help these cats and kittens.. please if anyone can help these kittens that are stray and feral and often abandoned would benefit so much from any help.

Last night, he went missing, and I spent hours looking all around for him, hoping he would come back home with his brother, my other cat. Today, after a big rain storm hit out of nowhere and he still did not come back, I went back out to look for him. I finally found him lying in a wooded area, badly hurt, with a broken leg and a broken jaw. Seeing him like that was heartbreaking, and I am doing everything I can to help him get the care he needs.

<div><strong>Simao</strong> is just five years old and has been kept as a pet ever since his mother was killed for bushmeat. Desperate for any companionship, he calls out from his cage every day, hoping someone will let him out.<br /><br />

<div><strong>Tita</strong> is only a baby. Just 18 months old, she spends her days shackled to a tree by a chain. If we can save her now, she is at a perfect age to be rehabilitated at a sanctuary.

<div>Gursimran Kaur was only 19 years old, a young beautiful girl who came to Canada with big dreams. On Oct 19th, the fateful Saturday night, she was found burned to death in the walk-in oven at Walmart Bakery situated at Mumford Road, Halifax.

<div>Gursimran and her mother both worked at Walmart for the last two years. In that evening, like any watchful mother who breathed for her child's happiness, Gursimran's mother tried to locate her after not seeing for one hour. She asked around, but everyone brushed aside thinking that she may be somewhere helping a customer, Walmart is a superstore after all!. Her phone was not reachable.

Hi, my name is Kim Barnes. Heidi's friends and I are starting this GoFundMe to help Heidi with expenses to support her recovery from a shark attack. Heidi is an avid scuba diver having just completed her 500th dive in May of this year. On June 7, 2023, Heidi was scuba diving in the Bahamas south of Taino Beach when she was attacked by a shark while on the ladder of a 32 ft. vessel. Heidi was expertly and miraculously given First Aid by Fred Riger on the vessel, who kept her from bleeding to death. Heidi was then stabilized and treated at the local hospital in Freeport, the Rand Memorial Hospital, and later taken by air ambulance to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, FL. Unfortunately, the extent of the wound and the infection made an amputation of Heidi's left leg necessary. Heidi has had several surgeries and will require more in the near future. ￼Heidi is a dog mom to her favorite little guy, Billy (a miniature schnauzer), horse mom to Sunny, a Physical Therapist, a power lifter, and has taught many exercise classes at the local YMCA. Heidi is fearless, kind, gentle, giving, honest, loves everything nature, has an amazing green thumb, an avid underwater photographer and a wonderful friend. We are raising funds to help pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance, travel expenses to get her back home, travel expenses to get her to and from therapy appointments when she's back home and any modifications to her home to assist her physically. I had my final surgery on Thursday and the surgeon who worked on me is specialized. She did a procedure called TMR. It is interesting and if you want deatails, just google it. In very short, she reconnected the nerves to muscles which promotes a good outcome with less pain and things like neuromas. And then she closed it up.
Post surgery is very painful and they had difficulty controlling my pain for almost 2 days. Today (Sunday) is much better and I am on oral meds only
 No more IVs and monitors. So that means we will see how I do on this regimen. So far so good. Then PT tomorrow, as I had a major setback with low hemoglobin. That required another blood transfusion. 6 or 7 so far. What a difference that made in how I felt. So I think I will be discharged either tomorrow or Tuesday. And then the journey back to Iowa begins

<div>on May 16th, at the white bar picnic area i was attacked by a mountain lion. It swiped at me, scratching my left shoulder. I yelled out for help from my dog Eva. She was only a few yards ahead of me and attacked the lion. They battled for a few moments until i heard her cry. The cat had her by the left side of her head. For the next several minutes i tried everything i could to free her. Eventually i ran to my vehicle for a weapon and flagged down assistance from a kind woman named Sharon. Together we beat at the cat while yelling until my dog was let go.

<div>the trip to the vet was about an hour, and midway through Eva began convulsing for several minutes at a time. I didn’t think she’d make it every time it started up. Fortunately she pulled through and received urgent treatment. She is still not out of the woods, she is heavily sedated until we can be sure the pressure in her head is reduced. She has 2 fractures to her skull, a puncture into the sinus cavity and severe swelling around her left eye, which is impeding her vision. The vet is optimistic, she is 2.5 years old and is otherwise in top shape.

Hello, today I am sharing the story of Kawika Matsu, a friend, a brother, and a waterman! <br /><br /><br /> On July 24th, Kawika was the victim of an unprovoked Great White Shark attack while paddle boarding about 90 meters off the coast of Ascension Island. Ascension Island is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, south of the equator between Brazil and Africa, and is one of the most remote places on earth.<br /><br />At this point, there is only one news report in the world, about what happened to our friend and brother; that being in The Telegraph out of the United Kingdom: <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/27/second-shark-attack-three-months-ascension-island/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/27/second-shark-attack-three-months-ascension-island/</a><br /><br />Kawika had spent the last year working on the island, and was days away from returning to his friends and family back here in the states. As a native Hawaiian, his love and passion for the ocean is what drew him to the island in the first place. <br /><br />He was trying to enjoy his last few days on the island by doing what he loves most, being on the water. While paddle boarding, he was struck by a large Great White Shark from below and knocked into the air. <br /><br />Before he could get back on his board, the shark had turned and bit into his right-side torso and shoulder. He was able to fight, and managed to get in a few hits to the shark’s nose, and it released him. <br /><br />He swam again for his board, and the shark came back again and tore into his leg and high thigh. Miraculously, he was able to break free once more, and managed to pull himself back onto to his stand-up paddle board. <br /><br />At this point he realized the severity of his situation. He was critically bitten, losing a lot of blood, drifting out to sea, and now being circled by several sharks. <br /><br />Even still, he had the presence of mind to remain calm, turn his board’s leash into a tourniquet, and wait for rescue. It took about a half an hour for someone to finally get to him, and by then, he had lost a lot of blood. <br /><br />Once back on land, the small local community of 800, people came together to help donate many pints of blood and treat his wounds. He spent the next 3 days waiting to be airlifted to a hospital in Florida that was equipped to deal with the severity of his condition. <br /><br />There, a specialized team of surgeons have been working to treat him, but he will be needing all the support he can get now. In these difficult times ahead, he will need the support of his friends, and the community as a whole. <br /><br /> His recovery time will be both extensive and very expensive, but he wants to try to recover as quickly as possible, so he can return to being a waterman. <p>The due date for my newborn grandson Ethan Gabriel Weaver's birth was November 5th, the same as the anniversary of my experience.   ("Ethan" means "strong" and "Gabriel" means "God is my strength").  He arrived 6 days  early but has been experiencing seizures that have caused him to spend over half of his three months of life in Phoenix Children's Hospital, including an emergency Air Ambulance ride.  Repeated trips from his home in Show Low and  many associated expenses have pushed costs ever higher.  I and other family members take turns staying awake watching Ethan so his mommy can get desperately needed rest.  None of the nine different drugs doctors tried have worked.  However, we have  found great hope by discovering a number of very promising therapies, none of which are covered by insurance.  We will search the universe for a cure so Ethan can get well and grow up and grow up strong.  So for the first time I am reaching out to the world through my Facbook friends to help Ethan's parents, my daughter Cierra &amp; her husband Michael,   in Ethan's fight to survive and fulfill his destiny.</p>

The Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity at the University of Miami is proud to announce our Spring 2015 philanthropy supporting Heroes To Heroes!<br /><br />Over two days in January, our Brothers will be participating in a wide amount of events and activities to help raise money for this incredibly moving organization.<br /><br />Heroes To Heroes is simple; it's goal is to ensure our veterans remain heroes for their entire lifetime.<br /><br />Mission:<br />Heroes to Heroes Foundation, a non-denominational 501(c)(3) organization, provides a spiritual healing, suicide prevention, and peer support program for veterans who suffer from Moral Injury and PTSD.<br /><br />Who We Serve:<br />The Heroes to Heroes Foundation serves all combat veterans, regardless of conflict. Veterans of Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and Iraq have all participated in our program. We welcome all who are having challenges with PTSD, Moral Injury, or having challenges returning to civilian life after their time serving our country.<br /><br />What We Do:<br />Heroes to Heroes teams up 10 veterans for a life-changing journey to Israel. Each team includes 10 Americans, five Israelis, and two team coaches (veterans from both combat and the Heroes to Heroes program).<br /><br />Our program is designed to help our participants develop social and emotional bonds with one another while exploring their spirituality and pushing themselves physically. Teams meet via Skype to get to know one another prior to the journey and stay together via Skype and social media upon their return to the United States.<br /><br />In Israel, each person can connect to the healing process in many ways, such as spiritually, emotionally, physically &amp; socially.

AEPi UM Supports Heroes To Heroes

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your financial donations and prayers. I was just informed that the hospital my daughter was going to be airlifted to has backed out due to lack of Cooperation from Children's Hospital Oakland. My family and I are still striving to find a location that will accept her in her current condition. All donations will go torwards the fight to keep her on life support. Let us pray that some one will have the heart to accept her despite what Children's Hospital says. So that we can get her air lifted away from this place as soon as possible.

On
July 30<sup>th</sup>, 2013, our family's world was turned upside down when Catherine,
who was only 2 at the time, was diagnosed with <a href="http://www.webmd.com/cancer/acute-lymphoblastic-leukemia">Acute
lymphoblastic leukemia</a> (ALL).  She and her mother, Jaime (who never left her
side), spent many weeks in Johns Hopkins Hospital enduring rounds of blood
tests, surgeries and spinal chemo treatments. <br>
<br>
Catherine is home now
but facing several years of weekly appointments at Johns Hopkins checking her
bone marrow and chemotherapy with the hope that at the end of the period she
will be cured.  Another chemo procedure is to
start soon where she will be admitted to Hopkins for a 4 cycle treatment
--- once a week - every 2 weeks - 4 times.  Unfortunately the medical team
guarantees it will probably make her ill and the stay could be 3-5 days
depending upon how she reacts.<br><br>
She's
a brave little girl and many times very sick and in pain.  She has an older sister, Evelyn, age 5 and a
younger brother, Andrew, 18 months for comfort. <br><img src="http://3b4efb995be6c5c64252-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.r12.cf1.rackcdn.com/768232_1383917952.2764_multi.jpg" width="100%" alt="" class="not-resizeable"><br><br>As in most of these cases, the mounting medical
bills are over-whelming.  Family and friends are working hard to give
support, prayer and comfort to them.<br><br>While we can't take on Catherine's pain or the anguish of her parents, we can help by trying to raise funds to take part of that burden from them.  We appreciate your donation and above all your prayers.<br>

Apparently, according to my husband, we had met before while I was still in high school and he was a freshman in college. At the time we were seeing other people but as chance would have it at this party we were both single. We started talking and ended up on our first date a few days later. The two of us knew right then that this was something real, not like anything we had felt before. Within two years we were engaged and two years later married. I can't believe we will be celebrating our six year wedding anniversary this Spring! Ten years has flown by.</div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; "><br></div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; ">We decided that we would enjoy our first year together as a married couple and then start our family. We had it all planned out, four kids by the time I was 30. Keep them close in age but far enough apart to enjoy them growing up. Well apparently we dreamed a little too big. After two years of charting, temping, stressing, blood work and arguments we had nothing to show for it. Not one missed period, just 24 pregnancy tests all reminding us "not pregnant". So we changed doctors and started speaking with reproductive & fertility specialists. Through them we finally had a plan of action and the tests began. We  both went through extensive testing, surgeries, and other procedures for another 2.5 years and finally the results were in. We had less than a 1% chance to conceive a child naturally and IVF was our only option. </div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; "><br></div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; ">We left the doctors office that day heartbroken. This was our biggest fear, the cost we knew was something that we could not afford on our own and in that moment I thought we would never be able to have this large family that we dreamed of. But thankfully I married the right man, who never gives up on my happiness. We talked it out and looked at all our options for making this affordable. After much debate and talking with our families we decided that Split Donor IVF was the perfect fit for us. I will be donating half of my eggs in one cycle to a woman that is in need of healthy eggs and keeping the other half for myself. This cuts the cost down a bit and we get to help a family just like us in need of a child. </div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; "> </div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; ">The Impact</div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; "><br></div><div style="line-height: 20px; font-size: 16px; ">Derrick and I have gone back and forth discussing if it was a "good idea" to post this information online and let the world into this personal and difficult journey we've been on. There are pros and cons that always come up. For starters, there is no guarantee for success. This procedure might not work. In addition, many people in our lives will be shocked to hear this has been going on for almost 5 years. We hope this will not change the way they treat us and that they will feel comfortable talking about this with us. We must prepare ourselves for the questions and comments that will come, many of which we have dodged by facing these difficulties with only a few close friends, coworkers and family members. All that to say, we CANNOT do this without you. The deeper we get into this, the harder it is to pretend like life is great. If we say no to dinner invites to save money, we want you to know why we are saving money. If my attitude is awful and I look sleep deprived, I want you to know it's the side effects of my fertility medicine. However, after much thought and prayer, we know the pros outweigh the cons. Sharing our story with you, could result in two things. With your help, we could become pregnant and have a child! I think I have to repeat that because that thought in itself is overwhelming for us. We could have a child! :) And secondly, if there are any couples reading this that are facing the challenges of infertility, we hope this gives them the courage to speak up, to reach out, to fight! Overall, this is a scary thing for us to admit and if there are others dealing with this too, we'd love to hear from you!
