In Memory of Daniel Figueiredo — A Hero, Husband, and Father

<div>Our beautiful Olivia is just 24 years old. She's a single mom, devoted daughter, and a fierce friend—but most of all, she's the center of her two-year-old son's world.

<div>Until recently, Olivia was a pre-med student, working as a medical aid for special needs adults. She had dreams of becoming a doctor and dedicating her life to caring for others. Her heart is huge. Her laugh lights up a room. And her strength has always been quite unstoppable.

<div>But now she's facing the unthinkable.

<div>Olivia has been diagnosed with <strong>Diffuse Midline Glioma.</strong> An aggressive and rare brain tumor. Doctors have given her <strong>12-18 months</strong> to live. The tumor is deep in her brain and because of its location and nature, it is considered inoperable. She is now unable to walk due to severe central nerve pain, and every day brings new physical challenges.

<div>Traditional treatments offer limited hope. <strong>Her only real chance lies in experimental clinical trials—</strong>some showing early promise, but <strong>none covered by insurance.</strong> These trials are expensive, often requiring travel, specialized care, and long-term lodging near treatment centers. This is where we need your help. Our goal is to raise funds so Olivia can access every possible avenue of care. She wants more time—not just for herself, but for her little boy who is too young to understand what is happening to his momma.

<div>Sunday, June 1st, our community was shaken by the tragic loss of Iris Amélie Backues, who passed away in a heartbreaking pool accident. Iris was a bright and joyful presence, and her absence is deeply felt by everyone who knew her. The Backues family is now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye to their beloved daughter, and the weight of funeral and memorial expenses during this difficult time.

In Loving Memory of Iris Amélie Backues

<div>Due to the high levels of violence, my brother's life was tragically taken away on November 3rd, in Guatemala. He was a loving father, full of humor and life. He leaves behind a sweet wife, two precious daughters- 6-year-old Isabella, 5-year-old Luisa, and a baby on the way that are now in danger because his family has been targeted. Please help my brother's sweet family leave this violent country by donating to this cause. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to raise $20, 000 to bury my brother, apply for asylum for my brother's family who is now in danger, and any travel expenses that apply to this cause. Help this Family with their Loss

<p>Hi my name is Daniela and I have an awesome angel named Leonidas. He was diagnosed with PKU 45 days after birth. We are from Bolivia, a country in South America and unfortunately our government doesn’t cover any formula, no low protein food, no treatment, here we don’t even have specialized doctors for PKU so if we want Leo to stay healthy we need to travel to Argentina, it’s a country near us and where Leo have been doing he’s treatment this 20 months. For us is really hard to pay everything : blood test every 15 days, the shipping of the sample from Bolivia to Argentina, travel there for check up, buy formula and low protein food, pay for it’s shipping from United States to Bolivia. Additionally to all this Covid 19 has had a bad impact in our economy because now at home no one has a job to support the treatment. So if you would like to help Leo to stay healthy and on treatment we would appreciate your donation.

Let’s help Leo with his PKU treatment

On September 27th, 2017 my father, who was battling Stage 4 stomach cancer, unfortunately lost his battle with the illness. He was diagnosed on June 20th, and from the very beginning, doctors were not very hopeful of the situation. They gave him months to live before succumbing to the disease, but we were determined to put up a fight. Through various natural remedies and special treatments, we worked at battling his cancer. The cancer, however, was spreading to other parts of his body, including his lungs, eventually making him unable to breathe properly. Many different procedures were done to try to correct his breathing, but it came to the point where he had to consistently breathe with a pressurized mask forcing oxygen into him. Doctors gave us a grim outcome of the situation once they saw that his liver was starting to fail, indicating that the end was near. With just one day in the hospice, he passed away peacefully in the early morning the next day.<br /><br />My father has been a fighter his whole life. Through every hardship he's faced, he took it with his head held high with more determination than anyone I've ever known. Even that his body was weak, he fought with everything he had to beat his cancer, but unfortunately this was one battle he couldn't win. Now I speak on behalf of the family in wanting to give this fighter a proper burial, and that is why I need your help. Between the mortuary, the wake, and the burial, the cost for all these services can get very expensive. We are asking for your help in covering the costs for these services to give him the burial he deserves, anything given will be more than enough and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
