Hi, my name is Karli and I am a good friend of this wonderful little boy and family that needs our help.

So let me introduce you to this incredible little warrior, Charlie, who in his short life has experienced immense trials. Charlie is preparing for a life-saving organ transplant, and the next step in this journey will be relocating to Boston to be near a specialized transplant center.

Because of the complexity of Charlie’s medical needs, the family must live close to the hospital before and after surgery for constant monitoring and immediate access to care. This move will be an important step toward giving Charlie the best possible chance to heal and thrive, as there’s limited research to guide his treatment.

The fundraising goal represents support for housing and living expenses near the hospital, the upfront costs required to relocate, medical expenses, and a small amount to set aside for unexpected needs. Anything that is leftover will be put into a savings account for Charlie to have set aside for a life of medical needs. The family carefully set this goal to create stability during this critical season in their son’s life. Being in the city helps keep Charlie in close proximity to the hospital for the extensive follow up required post transplant, and for anything that may arise during the recovery period. This support allows Charlie and his parents to focus fully on healing and recovery without the added stress of financial uncertainty.
