Desirae Morrow

My name is Desirae, and for the past six months, my boyfriend, my parents, and I have been living in a tent in the river valley area. As the temperatures drop and winter approaches, our situation is becoming more urgent. We have no heat source, and the cold is making it harder to stay safe and healthy. Every day is a struggle to keep warm and find basic necessities, and I worry about how we’ll make it through the coming months without stable shelter.

 We are doing everything we can to change our situation. I’ve applied for jobs everywhere I can, but without a permanent address, it’s been difficult to secure work. We’re not eligible for assistance programs because we don’t have jobs, and my boyfriend is dealing with a medical kidney disease that requires ongoing care. Without insurance, it’s even harder to get the help we need. Despite these challenges, we’re determined to get back on our feet and find a safe place to call home.

 We’re asking for help to afford warmer clothing and, most importantly, to secure a house or apartment before winter sets in. Any support will go directly toward helping us get out of the cold and into a safe, stable environment. Your kindness can make a real difference for our family as we work toward a better future.
