<div>As many of you may know, our beloved Valerie has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. This news has left us all in shock, as Valerie is one of the kindest and most loving souls you could ever meet. She deeply cares for her students, friends, and family, and if you know her, you understand the light she brings into our lives.

<div>Valerie just married her love, Brian Cervin, on May 18, 2024. Their wedding was filled with joy and dreams for the future, especially their dream of starting a family. With Valerie’s diagnosis, she now faces an uphill battle that will require chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Each of these treatments comes with its own challenges and costs, and we are learning that the total financial burden is much greater than we initially anticipated.

<div>To add to the complexity, Valerie’s treatments may jeopardize her fertility, and she will need to undergo a procedure to freeze her eggs. This is an essential step in preserving her hopes of motherhood, but it also adds significant strain to their finances.

<div>Originally, our goal was set at $15,000 to cover the fertility treatments. However, as we navigate this uncertain journey, we’ve realized that the total costs for her medical care may far exceed that amount. Therefore, we are raising our goal to $25,000 to ensure that Valerie and Brian have the support they need as they confront these challenges.

Stand with Coelho Family in Their Loss

Hi family and friends! <br /><br />As you may have heard my Uncle Art De La Rosa has been hospitalized for the last week following a major brain surgery called a Craniotomy. He was diagnosed with a severe subdural hematoma. The cause is still unknown and doctors believe that it could have been trauma related. He is still in the beginning stages of his recovery and is taking it day by day. It is unknown if he will be back to his normal self or if this will be a lifelong battle. <br /><br />Art has been a devoted husband, father, member of our Banning community and member of the Southwest Carpenters Union Local 951. As you can imagine, my aunt and cousin’s entire household has been turned upside down. As of now, he will be out of work indefinitely while he is recovering and it is unknown if he will ever get back to doing the work he has been doing for the last 25 years. If you can find it in your heart to help in any way you can. Any contribution is greatly appreciated, even a share. Continued thoughts and prayers are needed.
