<div>My name is Jesse Esparza and I'm a writer in Los Angeles. In April of 2026 my beautiful perfect, loving, energetic French Bulldog, Little Jesse, my namesake, was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor that had formed on the outside of his ear. At the time, it was diagnosed as a grade 2/ low grade tumor that didn't have a high chance of spreading.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The doctor recommended surgically removing his entire right ear to clear the cancer. I was scared at first, but had to do what it took for Little Jesse to get better. A few weeks later, his ear was surgically removed. All was looking good, and I thought we'd both continue to live normally as planned, but then I got the call that the tumor that was thought to be low grade, was actually a very aggressive, level 3, high grade tumor that may have spread to his organs. This was all, to say the least, shocking to hear. My dog, who has had a perfect record of health since I got him at 8 weeks old, is sicker than I ever thought he would be and I'm in desperate need to help him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Remember when I said I was a writer in Los Angeles? What this actually means is I WAS a writer-- then the writers strike happened and I haven't worked since 2023. I have been keeping afloat, working little jobs, but I was never prepared to take on this level of medical expenses. When I got Little Jesse, I was a writer on a network sitcom and thought I'd be riding that wave until I had a whole gaggle of Little Jesse's, also I thought we'd all be living at the Americana, but that's a different story. I don't know if you've heard, but work in the entertainment industry has dried the hell up, especially in comedy. So I'm here, somewhere I never thought I'd be, asking for help. You know the drill. I hate asking for help. I'd be grateful for anything, even a share. All things that people say when they start Go Fund Me's. But I really do mean it. This will all go to the medical expenses that cover Little Jesse's treatment, including chemotherapy when that's needed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you. Please share if you can. I love you!

 This concert seeks to raise emergency funds, restoring health &amp; joy
</div>
<div>
 to a precious earth angel in our city healing from cancer.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>After a 12+ month battle with breast cancer, the incredible Lois Antionette Pitter-Bruce is being supported by her daughter Shelley Bruce in creating a special, one of a kind concert to raise emergency funds for her life affirming treatment. To be hosted in early Nov 2026, as the need is critical soon.</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Alongside treatment Lois is seeking from City of Hope, the Bruce family has identified a holistic oncologist expert, ayurvedic practitioners, body workers, acupuncturists, meal prep and more that will give the immune boosting resources to Lois needs at a critical point in her healing journey.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>But time is of the essence, </strong>as her condition becomes critical daily. She struggles to walk, eat, and enjoy daily life, with a metastatic breast cancer diagnosis that has not improved as much as we'd hoped in the past 10 months. <strong>But Lois and her family are FAR from giving up on solutions. We have not tried everything we can just yet. </strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We must now call on community to make this beautiful experience to source resources happen!
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>What is the greatest challenge you’ve ever faced? </strong>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Now what is the most magnificent solution you could imagine to solve it? </strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Art for an Earth Angel </strong>is the first in a concert series to bring uplifting music, poetry and visual art to raise funds for specific cancer treatments, after extensive research and devoted care from family and health providers.

But of course likes, comments, DMs, reshares and PRESS from local news sources would help immensely.</li>

Art for an Earth Angel - Hope for Lois Pitter-Bruce

<div>On October 9, the Azuero region of Panama experienced one of the strongest earthquakes in its history, measuring 7.7 in magnitude. Some of the hardest-hit communities were Llano de Piedra, Bombacho, Bombachito, Llano de los Osorios, and Macaracas. Since the earthquake, the area has experienced more than 900 aftershocks, making recovery even more difficult for residents.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Llano de Piedra holds a special place in my heart because it is where my father was born. My siblings, cousins, and I spent many of our childhood vacations there. We learned how to swim, explored nature, and created unforgettable memories with our family and friends.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, many families have lost everything. For years, they worked hard to build and improve their homes. Many started with simple mud houses, outdoor showers, and outhouses. Little by little, they saved money to rebuild with brick and concrete, creating safer and stronger homes for their families. Sadly, much of that has now been destroyed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The government and organizations such as World Central Kitchen (WCK) are helping by providing food and meals. However, many people are still living, cooking, and gathering under tarps because their homes and community buildings are gone. The towns have lost their primary schools, churches, and other important gathering places.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My sister, cousins, and I have already donated funds to purchase much-needed supplies, including tents, tarps, diapers, sleeping bags, cots, and other essentials. I still have many relatives living in the affected area, and I am trying to raise additional funds to help families:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1. Obtain temporary shelter and protection from the rain and intense heat.
</div>
<div>2. Purchase essential items such as diapers and infant formula.
</div>
<div>3. Buy construction materials that can help them begin rebuilding their homes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are raising money for all families in need in Llano de Piedra, Bombacho, Bombachito, Llano de los Osorios and Macaracas in Los Santos Panama. I am working with my sister Arisa and my second cousin Billin. Billin lives in Llano de Piedra, Los Santos. The money will be transfer to a US account which then will be wire to my sister Arisa in Panama.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We will be working with my cousin Billin to buying shelter supplies (colts, tarps, sleeping bags, camping tents), diapers (adults and children), and powder milk. The rest of the fund will be use to buy building construction materials: cement, bricks and sand.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We know we cannot rebuild every home, but together we can provide families with a safe place to shelter. Help them take the first steps toward rebuilding their homes.
</div>

Help Families rebuild after 7.7 Earthquake Los Santos Panama

<div>Hi everyone, it's Brynna.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You all know my one-eyed pug Jicama. He loves musical instruments and dancing and hastily recording birthday messages for a lot of you. He is an AEW star (okay, he has one cameo in "Johnny Loves Taya") and everyone who meets him agrees that he is the sweetest, most loving creature and truly a special dog. And even if they didn't, he's been my world for the last six years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A few days ago he started getting finicky about eating, so I brought him to the vet where they gave him an X-ray and ultrasound. I was hoping he just had a little stomach bug but they have found a large tumor on his spleen. He's only 8 years old. We don't know how bad it is yet, but he has to have surgery to have it removed immediately.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, a splenectomy is expensive, and I hate to ask for help on this kind of stuff but he has been there for me through some really tough years and I want to do everything I can to give him as much time as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He's going to need somewhere between 11-14k for the initial surgery, and I'm not sure what expenses might pop up if they find out there's more going on. I'm sorry to ask &amp; wish I was the person donating instead, but if you can throw a couple bucks to help, I hope you will. Thanks.
</div>

Jicama Needs Your Help

<div>Our very own <strong>Paige is getting married in just 3 weeks</strong>!! ❤️
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those of us lucky enough to know &amp; work w Paige wanted to do something special to celebrate her &amp; this exciting next chapter. After the wedding, Paige &amp; her fiancé are heading from LA to Oahu for their honeymoon, &amp; we’d love to help make the trip a little extra memorable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether it goes toward an amazing dinner, a snorkeling adventure, a few too many martinis by the beach, or just some well-earned time to relax together, we hope this can be a little collective wedding gift from all of us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There’s no pressure to donate, but feel free to chip in a few bucks to celebrate her! Let's let Paige know how excited we are for her &amp; how much we’re cheering her + her soon-to-be husband on.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here’s to the wedding, the honeymoon, &amp; everything that comes next. Congrats, Paigeee!!! Hope your wedding day is a blast &amp; can't wait to see the gorgeous pics!! ❤️
</div>

Let's celebrate Paige’s big day!

<div>On July 6, our dear friend Monika Smith received the life-changing news that she has stage 2 breast cancer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the next several weeks, Monika will undergo surgery to remove the cancer and lymph nodes to make sure the cancer hasn’t spread. She's currently waiting on MRI and blood work results to determine whether a lumpectomy will be possible or if a full mastectomy will be necessary — a decision that will significantly affect both her treatment plan and its cost. Because Monika also lives with a chronic illness, her doctors are carefully weighing the safest, most effective path forward through the next several years of medications and therapies.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Monika has insurance, but like so many facing cancer, it doesn't cover everything. Her estimated out-of-pocket medical cost if the cancer hasn’t spread is over $50,000 with multiple surgeries ahead of her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Beyond medical bills, Monika will need real time away from performing and teaching while she heals — which means lost income right when expenses are highest. Funds raised will help cover recovery time, living expenses, transportation to appointments, nutritional support, therapy, and everything else this journey demands.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As if one devastating diagnosis wasn't enough, the day after Monika learned she had cancer, she found out her dog Felix does too. Felix has been her constant companion for 12 years— through long walks, tv marathons and even improv classes. Classic move by Felix to find a way to do this with her as well. Felix’s 2nd surgery and treatment is estimated at $7000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you know Monika, you know how special she is — a gifted actress, a hilarious improviser, and a teacher who has inspired students across multiple improv communities. She's spent years making people laugh, building community, and helping others find their comedic voice in this chaotic world. Now we want to give some of that back.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Monika absolutely hates asking for help, which is why we're asking on her behalf. As her close friends know, this isn't new — over the past year and a half she's had two separate surgeries that pulled her out of work during recovery, and both times she pushed through without reaching out for support. This time, we're not letting her do that alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any donation, no matter the size, makes a difference — and if you can't give, sharing this page helps too. Your support means Monika can put her energy and focus on healing, getting through this next chapter surrounded by people she loves and her pup, Felix.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We'll keep this page updated as her treatment plan takes shape.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for showing Monika the same kindness and support she's given so many others
</div>

Help Monika and Felix Beat Cancer

<div>Last September I got Minka, who is objectively the best cat. In May, she was having trouble breating. After a visit to the vet, they found fluid around her lung. They removed the fluid, then after much testing, Minka was diagnosed with chylothorax - a very rare condition that requires extensive specialty surgery. Without the surgery, the fluid will continue to come back, and her prognosis would be poor.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds raised will go directly toward a CT scan, the surgery itself, and the post-operative care Minka will need to recover. (It's all much pricier than my current fundraiser goal.) These treatments are essential to give her the best chance at a healthy life, and I want to do everything possible to help her pull through.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>About Minka: She is 3 years old, and her favorite things include: Jumping on my lap, flopping on the ground for belly rubs, looking out an open window, and sleeping.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Minka has added so much to my life, so if there's anything you can do to help her out, your kindness and generosity would be incredibly appreciated.
</div>

Help Minka Get Lifesaving Surgery

Our friend Marcel Maillet passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife Courtney and their two daughters here in Norwell. The loss has been devastating, and Courtney faces an incredibly difficult road ahead trying to maintain continuity for the girls: Charley (15) and Skylar (12).
<br>
<br>
 Many members of our community have been asking how they can support the Maillet family during this difficult time. This page has been created to support them as they face the challenges ahead. The Maillets love being part of the Norwell community, and have built wonderful friendships at school, on the soccer field, the lacrosse and softball fields and beyond. Anyone who knows Courtney knows her warmth and her strength, and how she always shows up for the people around her. Now, the family is facing an incredibly difficult journey.
<br>
<br>
 The emotional, physical and financial demands of Marcel’s passing are significant, and any contribution–regardless of size–will help ease some of the burden. Courtney is carrying profound grief and real financial uncertainty at the same time. As she prepares to take on an even greater share of their household’s responsibilities, the support of the community would mean so much as they navigate the road ahead.
<br>
<br>
 Thank you for holding Courtney and her girls close. If you are not able to give, sharing this page with others who care about Courtney and her family means just as much.

Emergency Relief for Venezuela Earthquake Victims

<div>Zion is a junior at Westbrook High School in South Los Angeles, a former Crete Academy student, and a young musician with a clear dream: to grow as a guitarist and one day attend USC Thornton School of Music.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm working directly with Zion's mother, Theadora, on this fundraiser. If for some reason we don't hit the goal by the payment deadline of 5/29, funds will still be used for Zion's education. I will be distributing the funds directly to USC to coordinate with additional funding from outside of GoFundMe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This summer, Zion was accepted into the USC Thornton Summer Guitar Seminar: Jazz, Rock, and Beyond — a highly selective program designed for serious young musicians ready to take the next step.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For Zion, this isn’t just a summer camp — it’s a meaningful step toward his future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The program takes place on USC’s campus, where students work directly with USC Thornton faculty and are immersed in the environment day to day. That kind of access is rare. It gives Zion the opportunity to build real relationships, receive mentorship from professors, and experience firsthand what it means to be a student there — all of which can play an important role as he works toward applying to USC.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I had the privilege of teaching Zion when he was in elementary school at Crete Academy, and even then, his commitment to music stood out. Over time, I’ve watched that passion grow into discipline, focus, and a real dedication to improving. Music has helped shape his confidence and who he is today.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He’s the kind of student who shows up, puts in the work, and keeps going.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Getting accepted into this program is a big step forward. The only barrier right now is cost.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The total cost for tuition and fees is $7,130, and we’re coming together to make sure that doesn’t stand in the way of this opportunity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution — big or small — goes directly toward helping Zion attend this program and continue building toward his future in music.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re able to support, it truly makes a difference. And if not, sharing this helps more than you know.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being part of Zion’s journey.

<div>On the 4th of October 2024, the unthinkable happened to a family in Washington. A house fire hungrily consumed the cabin home of a household of 5; a couple and their three fur babies (two cats &amp; one puppy).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This couple is also my family. My older sister and her amazing wife, Claire.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everything this family owned was burned down to a crisp or ash in the blink of an eye. (damage in cover photo above)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The nutritious garden outside, a Harley Davidson parked out front; the clothes and essentials needed for everyday life; the sentimental items (photos, heirlooms, religious items, etc.) bequeathed from family members born decades before; equipment and supplies for work, even an irreplaceable urn of a beloved family member who passed the previous year (Claire’s mother, Erica’s mother-in-law (and love).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The devastating fire also claimed the lives of their three fur children: TomTom aka Papa (a dandy dapper gentleman and the oldest cat [Siamese]), Nimbus Andrea 3000 aka Nimby (the Wild Child, also the softest cat in the world [Chartreaux]), and General Okoye aka Boopie (sweetest girl, jet-setter, youngest [Shih Tzu]).
</div>
<div>Claire ran back into the cabin three times before neighbors had to physically hold her down and prevent her from going in a fourth time. She performed another selfless act of breaking the window to get the babies out; causing Claire to need stitches.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With your much needed (and deeply appreciated) support, you may uplift a family facing hardship. Out of the literal ashes of this tragedy, we may greet the dawning of a new day filled with hope, faith, and love. And with your help of prayers and any donations, we can only get stronger!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Join us and be a part of the strength and hands that take this heavy burden off this family’s shoulders.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>{As of right now, Erica and Claire cannot receive any care packages. While this may be your first thought for them, please keep in mind they have no place to put any belongings. Gift cards and money donations are the best route to go if you would like to contribute in any way. I am thankful for any and everything you want to give.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My sister, Erica, has Venmo and Zelle if you would be so kind as to donate. (Approval was obtained from her too, for those concerned).
</div>
<div>Venmo @EricaGonzalez57 (last four digits= 9406)
</div>
<div>Zelle @ <a href="https://gmail.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">[email redacted]</a> (Erica Jones)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>{If you want to donate through CashApp, it will be to my account as neither of them have one}.
</div>

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Again ANY and ALL proceeds from this GoFundMe &amp; CashApp account will be given to my sister (Erica) and my amazing sister-in-law (Claire) to rebuild their home and lives. Let's bring them peace the best way we know how...Together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please and thank you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. Blessings

<div>My name is Marcel Borbon and I am fundraising on behalf of my 93-year-old Grandmother, and family. We have now become one of the many victims of gentrification, neighborhood change and Ellis Act evictions that currently plague the most vulnerable community members of East Hollywood, Koreatown and the greater Los Angeles area.
</div>
<div>This is not just our story, but the story of countless others throughout the city, state and country. It is the reality of being forced out of the community we call home. I never imagined that my family and I could face the possibility of homelessness. I am at a complete loss of words when I try to contextualize my emotions, and, more tragically, how to abate the fear my grandmother feels — with all her health struggles – COPD, heart disease, severe osteoporosis, to name a few, that she may now have to spend her final days without the peace and stability she knows and deserves.
</div>
<div>For nearly 40 years, my grandmother has lived in her apartment in a historic 1927 fourplex in East Hollywood. A place that has been the heart and soul of our family’s story. I’ve been visiting and living next door since I was born—32 years ago. Our family has lived side by side in this building, sharing meals, stories, laughter, tears and a lifetime of memories.
</div>
<div>My grandmother’s journey is one of resilience. Like many other Dominican immigrants who fled the political turmoil of the Trujillo dictatorship, my grandmother, Andrea Perez was barely 18 when she arrived in New York City. My grandmother is a fearless and fierce woman who braved many New York winters, but because of her health she relocated with her daughter, Gloria, to the sunny warmth of Southern California in 1963. Despite being presented with the struggles and obstacles of being a single mother, she persevered and pulled her family forward on her own. In 1984 she moved into the fourplex in East Hollywood we call home. She spent nearly 40 years creating memories and raising a family within its four walls. Because of my grandmother’s dedication to family and pursuit of keeping us together, my mother and father followed suit 30 years ago by renting the neighboring unit, making this a multi-generational home for our family. Like many others in Southern California, she dreamed of becoming a homeowner. But being a low income, single mother coupled with the ever-increasing costs of housing, this became unattainable for her and our family. In addition, with her mounting health complications from COPD, heart disease, stroke, and severe osteoporosis, she is now is experiencing the mental and emotional distress of being evicted from the home that has sustained her and her family for the last 40 years.
</div>
<div>Similar to so many other families in our neighborhood, the building was sold to a real estate developer in June of 2023, and by October of that same year, all tenants received an Ellis Act eviction notice. Real estate and development companies like, Avenue Homes and K3 Holdings, among others, claim they are improving the community by building “innovative homes to keep up with L.A.’s evolving lifestyle,” but we know this to be deceptive and misleading. These companies operate under the guise and promise of improvement and affordability yet displace long time and native Angelenos in the most violent and harmful of ways. The Ellis Act is a tool and tactic maliciously used by real estate development investors who are trying to make profits by displacing the families and communities that make up the soul of Los Angeles. On our block alone, 6-7 single-family homes have been demolished, and in their place, 3-4-story apartment buildings now stand, charging well over $3,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. How do these improvements help our community and its most vulnerable members when they are creating such inhospitable living conditions for those of us who currently reside here?
</div>
<div>We are asking for your help to raise money for a down payment on a house or, in place of that, enough to help find a temporary home for all of us so that my grandmother can spend her last days in a stable and peaceful place with her family by her side without the fear of being evicted again. Although we will receive relocation funds in accordance with a City of Los Angeles ordinance, we must pay federal taxes on it, reducing the amount by nearly 35%. It is not nearly enough to cover the cost of a down payment nor the ever-increasing cost of rent, let alone the emotional and physical distress and harm that these unfortunate circumstances have brought upon our family.
</div>
<div>Alongside the funds raised for housing, if necessary, the money would help pay for legal fees and representation. If we cannot find housing, our family plans on having a judge and jury ultimately decide what is fair and equitable in exchange of the 40 years of tenancy and community.
</div>
<div>I want to thank you wholeheartedly for taking the time to read our story. Please share and talk about this, especially if you live in Los Angeles. Communities and families across the city are being displaced by companies that put profit over people. If you would like to learn more about the Ellis Act, you can read more at <a href="https://la.myneighborhooddata.org/2022/12/ellis-act-evictions" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://la.myneighborhooddata.org/2022/12/ellis-act-evictions/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://la.myneighborhooddata.org/2022/12/ellis-act-evictions/</a></a>
</div>
<div>If you know other families and people going through similar hardships they can find solidarity, knowledge, and power with the Los Angeles Tenants Union. You can find more about local chapters here <a href="https://latenantsunion.org/en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://latenantsunion.org/en/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://latenantsunion.org/en/</a></a>
</div>
<div>Our story is not unique, and we are not the only ones in need. This displacement and violence is happening everywhere, but with your help, our family will be able to find stability during such a chaotic time. No amount is too small or too large. We may not be able to prevent everyone from becoming homeless, but with your contributions, you can help my grandmother and our family.
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Campeón</strong> fue rescatado a principio de <strong>marzo de 2024</strong> cerca de un viñedo de la ciudad, se encontraba atado a un árbol, si fuerzas para poder moverse y claramente en estado de desnutrición.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>

Campeón necesita su 2da cirugía para poder volver a caminar

</div>
<div>If you can't donate send them an uplifting message, (if in Los Angeles) swing by with some food or give a hug. Support doesn't just come in money form!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Absolutely ever cent of the fundraiser will go to Jenna Bryson.
</div>
<div>As always Jenna is taking on a traumatic experience with zest and humor. Below is Jenna's story from how it all began...
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On November 15, 2023 I went to the ER because for over a week I had not been able to walk more than a block without doubling over and crying in abdominal pain. I thought it might have been digestion related (think of the worst constipation you’ve ever had except the kind that causes you to scream out in agony), so I had stopped eating, too.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Two days later, November 17, I was in the operating room receiving emergency surgery to remove two fraternal twin tumors growing on each one of my ovaries; “Tweedledee” and “Tweedledum” were the size of a grapefruit and a cantaloupe, respectively.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In recovery, the surgeon reported that they thought the tumors would be borderline, not fully malignant, which is different, so I went home to heal, hopeful that this emergency experience was the last of it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It was on our lord and savior Taylor Swift’s 34th birthday when I found out this was only the start of my journey fighting cancer. I went to see the doctor and found out the tumors were malignant for Endometrial Cancer - well differentiated, and the lowest FIGO grade possible, which is a 1, so the doctor still had hope. He said this is the type that grows very slow, potentially for years. Looking back, I saw signs as far as 10 years ago that my body was changing, but I digress. I was told I would need a second surgery, a hysterectomy and lymphectomy to make sure the source (as suspected) was in the uterus, and to see if any had spread to the pelvic lymph nodes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I had another CT scan, but there was unfortunately a “mild nodularity” on the right side of my diaphragm, so now a full open abdominal surgery would be needed. On April 24th, 2024, the surgery was completed; it took 12 hours, because again something new would be found, that my uterus had grown into my bowel and therefore, needed to be cut and resected.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So where’s the good news, am I right? The surgical team took their time and got everything out that was concerning and with good margins. Although it had technically spread to my right side of the diaphragm the tiniest bit (5mm) and it was on the cellular level of my omentum (which they completely removed), the rest of my organs, bones and lymph nodes all looked clear. They were never scared for my safety during the 12 hours either, so I’m sorry to report I did not have an NDE (although, I did see a black void full of androgynous, gold, glowing humanoids looking at me before I woke up in recovery, that was wild).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I thought the next week I spent in the hospital, bloated like a floppy land fish, would be the worst. I still had hope I was done, but after a week back home, I was told I will need 6 rounds of chemotherapy to make sure any last EC cells are found and destroyed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I was devastated. Still am, to be honest, but I know the only way to the other side of this terrible experience is to go through it. I’ll be fighting every side effect of the chemo with everything I can - Claritin for bone pain, Helios mouthwash to try and prevent mouth sores (thank you to whomever sent that to me!), cold gloves and slippers to prevent peripheral neuropathy and nail damage, a cold cap to combat migraines (it won’t likely prevent hair loss, so I’ll be pre-buzzing to it avoid the sudden trauma of it falling out in clumps), and of course weeks and weeks of rest.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I will be in these treatments through September, and will need all the help I can get to make it through. I might be a shell of my former self when I come out the other end this fall, but at least I will have a chance at another life. Hey, I’ll even be bald just like a baby!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However much I have the energy to do so, I’ll be writing songs and sharing my story in hopes that maybe I can save one or perhaps many from having to go through what I’ve been through. I wish I could say that I am “stage one and done”, but alas that is not my story… but it could be someone else’s story, and I hope I can be an inspiration to all of you humans with a uterus and ovaries out there not to ignore your downstairs bits. We’re taught to check our breasts for lumps, but not taught what to look for in the reproductive system. If you have any changes in the length/duration, consistency, or heaviness of your periods, don’t ignore it. Have it checked immediately. Especially if you have any pelvic pain that is new, or have changes to your bowel movements or urinary habits, such as constipation, or having to pee with urgency, or even feeling full faster than normal when eating. Push to get an ultrasound and/or multiple scans, it’s vital.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We need to stop being embarrassed and talk about reproductive health because it is so tied in with everything else that goes on “down there”. I wouldn’t wish what I have been through and will be going through this summer on my worst enemy, but I am endlessly grateful to my incredible partner, Jeff, for being here with me and supporting me through this crappy roll of the dice, my comedy bestie Josie for setting-up this fundraiser and being a shoulder to cry on, and to anyone and everyone who contributes a gift and reaches out.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’ll continue to create, hopefully, for many many years, but for now, you can stream my music on all platforms, buy my kids’ book Grace from Outer Space on Amazon, and follow me on IG, YT, and the clock app.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With extreme gratitude for my life,
</div>

Help Jenna Bryson Overcome Stage 4 Cancer

<div>This gofundme appeal is to support our favorite performer, friend, sister, daughter, and dog enthusiast Elizabeth Hayhurst. Elizabeth fought off cancer when she was 11 years old and now she needs our help to fight it off again. As some of you already know, earlier last year Elizabeth was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, as the timeline for her becomes more and more unclear it has become more and more difficult, and cancer is very expensive. Elizabeth needs help paying for her treatments and other life expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Okay so let's get to it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In January of last year, Elizabeth had a tumor removed from her ribs, which unfortunately turned out to be malignant. A PET scan revealed multiple hot spots in several places but most importantly one in her lungs where surgery is not an option. A month later, they did another PET scan and the cancer had spread to a total of 6 tumors, 4 of which were now in her lungs. It had become clear that she had stage 4 metastatic melanoma. She was placed on a steady treatment plan of immunotherapy using the drug Keytruda, which has at best slowed the progression but has yet to effectively remove or reduce the size of any of the tumors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The adverse effects of immunotherapy can be debilitating with extreme nerve damage,irregular heart beat, thyroid damage, joint and bone pain, difficulty breathing, and crippling fatigue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Cancer freakin sucks and the medication can suck almost as much. The next phase of the treatment will involve several CT, PET, and MRI scans during the course of the next few months to a year as well as possibly a new more aggressive immunotherapy or an experimental cell therapy that involves an intrusive biopsy as well as several sessions of chemotherapy. Until she moves to the next phase she is currently taking targeted therapy as a stop gap and timeline extender. Targeted therapy has the same or worse side effects as immunotherapy which are incredibly disruptive to everyday life. The treatment, the scans, dealing with the side effects of the treatment, and general self-care are expensive and challenging. Elizabeth could really use our help relieving the financial strain that has been placed on her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Elizabeth means so much to so many people, she has been an active member of the comedy community as a performer, writer, director, and producer for more than ten years. She has made friendships and built strong relationships with many of us even while she had been battling cancer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The goal of this fundraiser is to relieve some of the financial burden this horrible disease has placed on Elizabeth and in general increasing her overall quality of life. She has been fighting cancer since she was 11 years old; please help her defeat it once and for all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please contribute anything you can to help Elizabeth now.
</div>

Elizabeth Hayhurst’s fight against cancer.

<div>Hi, my name is Natalie.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am a queer, non-binary artist living in Portland, OR.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In preparing for top surgery, I went and got a mammogram. At that time, the doctors found a mass in my tissue that they were concerned about being cancerous. So a biopsy was done, which thankfully came back negative. However, the mass is so large they are concerned that cancer could be present and want to operate to remove it quickly. Fortunately, my breast cancer surgeon has been in contact with my TS surgeon, AND they decided it would be best to do both surgeries simultaneously. This pushes my top surgery date from June 2023 to November 1st, 2022, which gives me a month and a half to prepare.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, I don't have the means to save money for this as quickly as it is happening. The cancer specialist is an unexpected additional medical expense. Also, since I will have to take time off work, I will lose income as I don't have paid leave.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The money from this fundraiser will pay for medical costs &amp; living expenses surrounding surgery and my recovery time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any amount is welcome and appreciated. If you would rather just share this post, that would be great too!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>
<div>Natalie

Surgical Biopsy & Top Surgery

<span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);"><span><br />In the early hours of June 26, 2022, Jovee, Jude, and Betty were in a life altering car accident. They are all three admitted to the hospital with a long road of recovery ahead of them. <br /></span><span><br /><b>Jovee (13)</b> has a fractured cheek bone, eye swollen shut and numbness on side of face. My name is Paul and currently my prosthetic leg is broken, to get a new one is very expensive around the 12-15K mark and due to me having a full time job I do not qualify for a medical card to get one.<br /><br />With a family to feed and keep a roof over our heads it has been nearly impossible to save up the money required to get the leg,<br /><br />As a result I am now developing hip and back problems from the broken prosthetic.
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This would mean the world to us as a family, at the moment I find it hard to do the everyday basics of playing with my kids, going for walks or simply running around with them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any help at all is amazing and we are shocked by the generosity of people so far, especially in these uncertain times.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are so grateful to everyone for their support so far! <br />

Help Paul get a prosthetic leg

Julie and Lou Parga will be retiring this summer after 38 and 37 respective years of teaching.<br /><br />Mr. Parga is one of the "cool" teachers who the "bad" kids love. They thrive in his class, and all his students love playing basketball and Guitar Hero with him. <br /><br />Mrs. Parga brings creativity to her classroom by incorporating art, poetry, and creative writing into her curriculum. Every year, she directs the school play, runs the Bulldog Bulletin, and shows the eighth graders around Washington D.C. and New York. The woman hardly sleeps. <br /><br />The Pargas have dedicated innumerable hours and funds to their students. If the Pargas have touched your life in any way, please donate. <strong>The money will send the Pargas on a surprise trip to their favorite place — Hawaii!</strong><br /><br />They haven't had a vacation in years, so let's surprise them and start their retirement off right! Donations are greatly appreciated. If you have any messages you want to pass on to the Pargas, please leave a comment. Thank you!<br /><br />Here are pictures of the Pargas in Hawaii on their honeymoon:<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28305570_15207257340_r.jpeg" alt="28305570_15207257340_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28305570_15207257570_r.jpeg" alt="28305570_15207257570_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

The Pargas Are Retiring!

Squid is broken. She hurt her tiny little hip and is in pain and limping. This has been going on for a month now. She needs surgery to fix it and it needs to happen soon.<br /> <a href="http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&amp;A=2210" target="_blank">FHO Surgery</a> ‌

Fancy hip surgery for Squid

<div>Hi everyone! Thank you for making your way to this page. We are once again turning to crowdfunded health insurance ('Merica!)--this time for our dearest friend and brightest light of our lives, Lyndsey Frank. Let’s get right into it:
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>On June 3, 2022 Lyndsey was diagnosed with stage 2 triple-positive breast cancer after finding a lump a month earlier. It's an aggressive form of cancer, but there are two major positives to focus on: First, Lyndsey caught this on the early side and moved quickly. Second, though these cancers tend to grow and spread rapidly, they are very responsive to medical treatment.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Lyndsey will be getting an MRI before treatment starts to create a baseline and determine how well future treatment works. The treatment starts with targeted chemotherapy. Lyndsey will be getting six rounds of chemo—one round every 3 weeks for about 5 months. The chemo is administered along with a combination of medications designed to treat the cancer, called TCHP. At the same time, Lyndsey will be taking a drug called Neulasta to help her immune system, because she'll be immunocompromised from the treatment.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>The next phase of treatment will be determined by how well the chemo/medications worked. We are looking at two potential paths. Down one path is the "quick" road to recovery: Lyndsey would receive a lumpectomy to remove whatever is left of the cancerous tissue in her breast. She’ll also get a biopsy of the lymph nodes under the arm near her breast to be certain the cancer did not spread. She’ll also need another year of Herceptin and Projecta administered intravenously, along with 5 years of oral hormone treatment.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Down the other path (which could be necessary either because of a poor treatment response or the presence of a BRCA mutation) would be a mastectomy or possibly even a double mastectomy. The treatment would then be adjusted to something more robust.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Lyndsey means the world to so many people and has been a beloved fixture in the Los Angeles improv comedy world for over a decade. And now she desperately needs our help. Our goal with this fundraiser is to alleviate the burden of hefty medical bills, living expenses, and mental health expenses, so she can focus on what really matters—getting healthy and kicking cancer’s ass. Lyndsey’s oncologist really put it best: We’re going to cure this! We just need your help along the way!
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Thank you so much!
