In December 2023, Lucinda Mullins’ life changed forever. What started as a kidney stone quickly turned into a severe infection. The sepsis that followed led to the devastating and unimaginable loss of all four of her limbs. Lucinda lives at home with her family, where her husband has stepped into the role of full-time caregiver while they navigate this new reality together. Their world has been turned upside down physically, emotionally, and financially. One of the most urgent challenges they face is transportation. Lucinda requires frequent medical appointments, therapies, and follow-up care. She also wants nothing more than to be present for her children — to attend their events, appointments, and everyday moments that matter so much. Right now, she is completely dependent on others for every ride. Without a properly modified, handicap-accessible vehicle, even simple trips become complicated and exhausting. We are raising funds to purchase and modify a vehicle that meets Lucinda’s specific needs. This is not a luxury — it is essential. A properly equipped vehicle will allow her to travel safely and comfortably, whether she is wearing her prosthetics or not. It will give her back a measure of independence, ease the physical strain on her husband as her caregiver, and restore some stability to their daily lives. On Thursday, October 9, 2025, our beloved friends Scott and Jennifer Hughes lost their home to a devastating fire. In a moment, everything they had built and cherished was gone. Thankfully, by the grace of God, no one was home at the time — not even their sweet cat, Thunder — and everyone is safe. This home wasn’t just walls and a roof. It was the heart of the Hughes family — the home Scott and Jennifer built with their own hands 23 years ago. It’s where they raised their three amazing children, celebrated countless birthdays, holidays, and milestones, and filled every corner with love and laughter. If you know the Hughes family, you know they are the kind of people who would give the shirts off their backs to help someone else. They’ve opened their home, their hearts, and their time to so many over the years. Now, it’s our turn to rally around them — to lift them up in the same way they’ve lifted others time and time again.
