<div>Kim was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) December 23, 2020. Since her diagnosis, she has undergone multiple biopsies, a double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, numerous rounds of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and multiple smaller procedures all while working full-time as a Dental Hygienist. Her cancer is now Stage 4, and because of recent debilitating pain and a subsequent PET scan confirming metastatic spread to her bones and liver, she has made the decision to leave her 26-year career as a Hygienist and apply for disability. This GoFundMe has been organized to help the Pillischafske's financially bridge the disability "waiting period" and help supplement Kim's income so they can focus on her treatment.

Adoption changes you. The understanding and knowledge that children exist without a family to love and support them changes you at your core when you experience it firsthand. You view things differently and value people and relationships over things. You begin to see that there is more room at the table, an extra seat in the van, an extra space in a bedroom, and a WHOLE LOT of love left to give. As we contemplated another adoption from China, God closed that door with new family size regulations. We had many discussions about starting the process with a different country, but never felt led to a specific country. Then, one day, I saw her face. I instantly knew as her eyes spoke to my heart. I knew I was looking into the face of my child. I inquired about her and found that she had cerebral palsy and strabismus. I quickly researched strabismus and realized this was very much something we could handle. We are blessed with five children with cerebral palsy, so this need was something I felt very comfortable with and knew we have many supports in place. I found out she was from Eastern Europe. I requested her file and shared it with Mark. We took some time to read through it and pray. The rest is history or is it just beginning? We can't wait to hold this precious girl and teach her just how treasured she is. We feel our experience with both adoption and cerebral palsy, will help us to provide the support she needs to achieve all she is capable of. We want her to know how much we love her and how very much her Heavenly Father loves her.

Built on Love

James 1:2 says to count it all joy when we fall into various trials.  This is something we often have a hard time doing when we let fear, anxiety and sorrow consume us in trials and we miss out on the joy and blessings.  If there is anything that my sister Rhonda and I have learned from our sister Cynda is that our God is always faithful in every trial and in every valley we encounter, and there are always blessings if you just take the time to look for them.  They come in all forms, some larger than others and some you really have to be still to see.  Throughout the last several years, we all have watched Cynda and her husband Scott encounter so many trials and storms and we are amazed that through it all, there is so much selfless sacrifice for their family and always joy and praise.  They have endured numerous sleepless nights as our nephew David has been in and out of the hospital several times and has had multiple surgeries.  Scott is David’s voice during hospital stays and doesn’t leave his side which leads to many days not in the office.  With countless doctor appointments and around-the-clock care for their boys, Cynda has also taken a step back from the job she loves so much as a Sales Director with Mary Kay.  All of this on top of trying to provide a “somewhat-normal” life for their other children and build an accessible  “forever” home for their family of 6 around their small existing home (which was originally to be Scott’s shop 20+ years ago) so that there would be little disruption to the boys’ every day routine -  not to mention sky-rocketing prices on building materials in the middle of a Pandemic.    A couple weeks ago, we reached out to all our prayer warriors asking to lift David’s name up in prayer and that God would protect both he and Scott as David was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.  God answered our prayers and they left the hospital in only a few short days without contracting the Corona virus.  Praise the Lord!  David is such a true warrior and we are so amazed at what he has overcome throughout his young life.  More than any one person should have to endure.  Through all of this, he still loves to swing, loves car rides, be read to, sit in his chair and play music, watch his favorite veggie tales or Blue’s Clues videos, and loves to lay in his bed and talk to his faithful sidekick Scout – who goes everywhere with him. But honestly, those are all second to his Daddy.  He absolutely adores his daddy!   Friends, earlier this week, Cynda and Scott received news from David’s team of Doctors that antibiotics are no longer working and there isn’t anything more they can do for David.  Sadly, his life of 25 years, is coming to the place of bringing in hospice.  The Worrell Warriors are entering into the hardest trial you can imagine.  These next few weeks, they will be spending every minute they have left with David while planning his funeral.  In my Father’s house, there are many rooms and I know he has a special place picked out for David (and Scout) and he will be there waiting for him to run into his arms!   I’ve never had to bury a child and I’ll be the first to admit, even though I know it’s there somewhere, I’m having a hard time seeing the blessing here.  Their journey has inspired all of us and they, themselves, have blessed many.  Several have asked how to help the Worrells, how can we be servants to lighten their load, and be a blessing to them.  Rhonda and I are asking all of you, if at all possible, would you help us, help them, by blessing them through a donation as they have and will be encountering overwhelming financial obligations. Be a Blessing to the Worrell Warriors

Robin VanWagner Clarke had an aneurysm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. She had one of the rarest forms of aneurysms where surgery was needed for her to survive. For the first 3 weeks, she was in critical condition and in ICU. Robin underwent many surgeries and procedures, and the surgeons and medical staff continued to be cautiously optimistic as she improved and yet had setbacks during this time. Today, Robin is slowing improving – baby steps, but we know it is a long road to recovery. She is beginning to smile and nod and blink in responses to questions. Robin will be doing her rehabilitation at Meadowbrook in Urbana, Illinois. At this time, we do not know how long she will remain in Meadowbrook and continue with rehab. Due to the long road to recovery and knowing there will be medical expenses not covered by insurance, we are asking for donations to this Go Fund Me to assist Mike and Robin with the extra expenses. In addition to the donation, please continue with prayers. Even if you are unable to donate, please continue with prayers for Robin’s healing as well as prayers for the medical staff and family as we go on this journey together. Robin VanWagner Clarke: Road to Recovery Love Fund

On Thursday, December 6th, my Parents' house caught fire. My dad, Roger, was at a VA Medical appointment and out running errands, but my mom, Lynda, and her dog were home alone when she heard a "pop" sound and the lights went off in the house. By the time she got to the guest bedroom, the flames were already six feet high. She called 911, but before the firefighters could arrive, the flames had engulfed two and a half rooms. The fire department did a great job, but they had to tear holes in the roof and walls to extinguish the blaze. Mom and the dog are both safe, but because of the fire, smoke, and water damage, the house has now been condemned by the city. Unfortunately, the house was over a hundred years old and uninsurable. The house was paid off, but on a fixed income (and dad being no longer able to work), my parents are now homeless, clothesless, etc-less. My wife, Shannon, my sister, Rachel, and I are all thankful to God that they are safe, but we all have small living spaces (difficult for even temporary housing). For now, they are sleeping on my couch and loveseat at my house.  Roger and Lynda are in their seventies. They are wonderful people who have given so much to so many over the years. I've never started a GoFundMe before, but if there was ever a good cause or a reason it's this one. Many friends have reached out to ask what they can do to help. Yes, they'll need clothes and furniture and the list goes on, but, right now, they just need housing. Every dime that is donated will go towards that need first.  Here is the plan: They need a place to lease/rent for six months to make it through the winter (Maybe $5,000 ish). We also need to secure funds to demolish the burned house within 90 days (Maybe $5k-$7k). If any funds are raised beyond this amount, they will go toward the myriad other expenses that go along with putting your life back together after a fire, including purchasing a new home. $10,000 will only scratch the surface, but any amount, big or small, will be used to get these wonderful people back on their feet.  Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and compassion. Passion In Action: Journey to China

I fell in love with a small orphanage in Peru, Hogar de Esperanza, in 2015. This year will be my 4th visit and my son, Noah, is thrilled to join me, for his first time! For 3 years he has heard me talk passionately about serving God by obeying the call to step outside my comfortable place to share myself, my heart, and my faith. He has heard about my relationships with some really amazing and special kids, and how my heart breaks for their future. He has heard me talk about his strengths and how strongly I believe he would love serving in the same way. Noah felt led to join me but until now, we've needed him to help out at home. Now that Jon has a new liver and is getting stronger each day, and Joshua is old enough and responsible enough to be second in command, we feel Noah can finally go experience service in a new way, and grow his relationship with the Lord through it. As for me, God, from my very first trip, has been working to merge my passions together, Mary Kay and teenage orphan girls in Peru. Mary Kay has since opened a plant in Peru and offering a new opportunity to women there. It is my goal to advance in leadership to a level that allows me to work internationally, and realize the vision God has given me. Until then, I serve by building relationships with the children, giving them hope that they are significant, loved, and valued. The children at Hogar de Esperanza come from extreme traumatic backgrounds, and crave the stability of our Windsor Road Christian Church team visits each year. Becca & Noah's Peru Mission!

I'm Rebecca Hill, a Skin Care Specialist &amp; mother of 2 in IL, obedient to the call to serve others. I love my job and the ability to enrich women, but my heart also belongs to a small home for children in Trujillo, Peru. I am raising financial support for a return to Peru, where I will again serve with a team from my church, Windsor Road Christian Church here in Champaign, IL. During our time in Trujillo, we serve along side the faithful caretakers throughout their day. We bring the children love, activity (a daily Bible lesson, singing, games, crafts), assurance that others care for and are praying on their behalf, and in turn, the children amaze us with their grateful hearts, openness to love, graciousness and kindness. It is no surprise that when we leave, we leave behind our hearts. Your support, both financial and in prayer, is hugely instrumental in our ability to serve. The cost of the entire trip, travel, food and supplies (for the children and projects we work on at the home) are all covered by the total $2400. Any funds leftover are used to bless the people we are in contact with through the orphanage. We will be traveling August 4-12, 2017. Since our airline tickets have already been purchased, we need to raise at least $1200 by April 30th to offset that cost, and then about $400 each month through July. Becca to Peru 2017

God has been working on my heart for a couple of years to be involved in missions. Last year He opened the door for me to go on a short-term mission trip to Trujillo, Peru with Windsor Road Christian Church. I was thrilled to go! Then a month before the trip my beautiful Mama, who I was very close to, poured my heart out to weekly, and was still very dependent on for medical, motherly and life wisdom, passed away very unexpectedly. I spent the last 3 weeks of her life caring for her and easing her transition. Then, as planned, I went to Peru. I believe, through all this, that God was preparing me for so much more than a tiny orphanage in Peru, and while I was there, raw, bruised, exhausted, but open to everything He wanted to show me, He placed a dream in my heart. The dream involves working with women in transition, locally and in Peru, who desire a life with choices. I have been given the opportunity to return to Trujillo, where I will meet new children, solidify relationships formed last year, and learn more about the home for girls who age out of an orphanage at age 18, but who most likely are far from a high school education.  The trip will be from July 11-22, 2016. We will be working with an orphanage that WRCC is closely affiliated with, Hogar de Esperanza. We will be sharing in some outreach activities that involve the young children living there. It's a hard place to see, but there is a community of people, and children, living in this literal garbage dump. They have nothing but the scraps recycled to build a shelter, and a little livestock to raise enough money to survive. One of those children has the opportunity to attend college... and have more choices in her life. When we visit, we will decide as a group if we would like to sponsor a year of her tuition, about $120 per person (there are 10 of us going). Knowing the hearts of our group, I'm 99% sure that decision has already been made, so I'm adding it here, so you all know that your support is not only enriching my life, the orphans who treasure our visits, but also one little girl who has a chance to break the cycle of poverty.
